Brand new game mode called "THE CLUB" for extreme calories burning and huge scores. Choose any song you want and it will be played in a loop with constantly increasing speed. Hit special bonuses with your head for extra score. (There's a new song called "Welcome to The Club" in Volume 2 which is a good fit for this mode)
6 new songs added to Volume 2 (that makes total 51 songs and videos in the game + 8 custom songs currently available for download from our server + any custom songs in ModSaber format you download from 3rd party servers or create in the provided Song Beater Editor)
2 new Steam achievements for "THE CLUB" mode
New features
Multiplayer now supports voice-chat, custom songs and videos. You can also change your avatar at any time
Progress announcement during playing the song. If you move up in the leaderboard while playing, you will know it immediately (announced by voice and displayed as yellow number under your score)
Don't know which song to play next? Quick play button in main menu will select random song for you (song difficulty and source can be changed in settings)
Hand rotation settings. You can rotate your virtual hands to any X/Y/Z angle relative to your real controllers. Also when playing with blades, if you pause the game, you can ajdust angle of the blades using your right thumbstick (touchpad)
Real 360 is now more adjustable – choose between whole 360 or 180 degrees, you can also disable vertical angles and keep only horizontal ones
Custom songs import settings. If you downloaded a song in ModSaber format and want to make it easier to play for fitboxing (you can always play it using selection of freestyle weapons as well – blades, saw, tonfas...), you can set recoloring on (this will force beats on the left to have color for your left hand and vice versa), removing beats overlapping each other or moving all the beats up or down whole row for easier reach
Custom songs downloading from our server (and/or other servers you specify in new_patch.txt file) is now more user friendly and allows also deletion of songs
New optimizations and improvements
Analysis of your gameplay in form of accuracy, power & calories burned graphs
Score boost now does not reset to 0 if you fail or miss, only decreases a little bit (based on selected difficulty). Single mishap won't ruin your great score anymore, you can catch up if you try hard enough
Calculations were reworked – punch or weapon hit detection is now more precise (angle and power of hit, centering on the ball)
Improved timing of several existing songs – even songs with irregular BPM, risers etc. should be now spot on
Player profile in your party now stores more settings including theme (environment). When you switch to another player, his/her theme loads up automatically
Championship mode now displays list of other players competing with you with their realtime scores (take a look at the floor in front of you), so you always know whether are you winning or need to catch up. Top players will receive points according to their placement
Ranking system (previously separate for Volume 1 and 2 songs) has been merged to single rank with level cap at 180
New competition
Several new leaderboards were added – total calories burned, total score for "The Club", total score for "Championship", total score for the other modes. Leaderboard kings now include more game modes as well and weight of difficulties were adjusted (intense and impossibru victories now grants substantially more points than normal, light and gentle)
Real 360 and themes update!
"Real 360" mode
New game mode and environment "Real 360" transports you to center of a high-tech rotating space station. Beats will be coming at you from all directions (including above and below!) but the challenge doesn't stop there. You will be also bombarded by red drones and need to activate your shields (using trigger button) to block them. :-O
Flying dragon theme
Brand new theme with moving mountains, fog and lightning. Oh and you are standing on a flying dragon. :)

Existing themes have been optimized and improved for better visual experience.

Haptic – you can now adjust haptic (vibration) feedback of your controllers (both amplitude and duration) to achieve desired feel
New custom balls art – dealing with coronavirus situation and need something to cheer you up? You can select new virus or biohazard symbols and symbolically destroy these threats the old fashioned way!
20000 Beats Under the Sea
Brand new In The Deep ocean theme filled with wild marine life – corals, jellyfish, octopus, singing whales and small and big fish including sharks circling around sunken ship in front of you :)
LIV mixed reality support – now you can stream and be part of the game (for best experience switch to roomscale mode in game settings). Looking forward to see someone in scooba gear playing new ocean theme! :D

Custom songs tab now allows simple download of new songs from our server. We will keep adding new songs in the future this way without the need to update the whole game. (And for modders out there, you can take advantage of this system, simply replace URL in patch.txt file with your own)
Improvements of existing themes and gameplay – performance and visual improvements (better water in Dark Island theme, fixing entrance flickering in Egyptian theme etc.)
Plans for near future: 2 new game modes. One for beats coming from all around you (including above and below!), another one taking inspiration from popular arcade game. Stay tuned :)

You can now use heart button to mark your favourite songs and sort the songs by your favourites.

Modding update
Seated/roomscale mode
New setting for seated/roomscale experience. We are experimenting with autocentering vs respecting roomscale boundaries in SteamVR. When you start the game in "seated" mode the game recenters to your current headset position (and you can also recenter anytime in the game by holding B button or touchpad right for 3 seconds). When in "roomscale" mode, there is no recentering and your position is absolute within your guardian system. Please give it a try and let us know which setting works best for you so we could make it the default :)
Audio modding
You can replace sounds of individual weapons and of ingame announcements "miss" and "fail". Go to Settings/Modding, set audio modding ON and exit the game. Then replace WAV audiofiles in ..\\Song Beater_Data\\Modding\\Audio directory with your own and start the game again.
Colors modding
You can now view/specify colors for beat balls and hands/weapons using precise RGB values along with color wheel.
Fixes and optimizations
Various fixes and optimizations. Improved levels for intense and impossibru difficulty for song Close by Mikalyn (ranked vol. 2).

Full release update!
After months of constant improving our early access version with regular updates we bring you the ultimate "Full release update", which will pave the way to full release of the game.
16 new songs and videos (so there are now more than 45 songs included in the game!) – Named "volume 2" pack, starring Canadian songwriter and singer Mikalyn, French musician Dizaro and more.
3 new game environments (themes) – Dark tropical island, Deep space and Ancient Egypt. Existing "Early access" theme was improved as well.
Championship multiplayer mode – Want to compete with any number of players all over the world at the same time? Now you can, Championship mode brings automated roster of songs playing non-stop, you can join anytime and select your preferred difficulty level as well (you can see number of players participating in each difficulty, after finishing the song you see your overall placement). If you'd rather play selected song with a chosen friend, you can use existing Multiplayer mode.
Further customizations – You can now change symbols and colors of beat balls (affecting also colors of your hands/weapons) from default yellow-purple scheme to any colors you like.
Optimizations and bugfixes – Thanks to valuable feedback from our players here on Steam and our Discord server we were able to fix several bugs affecting some achievements. If you still encounter any weird behaviour, let us know at info@songbeater.com

Update #9 (instant shock)
Instant shock
This new gameplay setting will test your reflexes and reward you with 10% score bonus. When ON, the balls will be spawning in a much shorter distance in front of you thus giving you less time to react. You can think of it as of some kind of martial art practice. :)

Camera setting
(For streaming or showing your gameplay to friends who gather around your monitor/TV/projector :))
You can now switch between cameras (first person, external static, external moving) and avatar types (Winston or anime character) in the game settings. You can also still use Escape and function (F4 etc.) keys in desktop game window and mouse and arrow keys to adjust the camera view.
Update #8 (need for speed)
3 new game settings! If you are learning basics of the game or just want to enjoy whole song without the fear of failure, turn "No fail" option ON (your score won't be saved to leaderboard tables though).
If you just need to take things a little bit slower, adjust brand new "Song speed" setting to 90% (there will be -10% penalty to your score).
If you are already a pro and want to spice things up, turn the speed all the way up to 150% (you will receive +20% score bonus). And the gameplay becomes quite hilarious as a side effect, see for yourself :-D
If you want to focus on achieving the highest score, you can now setup "Score per hit" display to show just accuracy (ACC) or just power (POW) of your blows.
