Chapter 3 Launch and Full Release - Available Now!

Chapter 3 and the full release for Soul Scathe is here! Explore hours of action RPG combat and exploration as you venture through procedurally generated dungeons and test your skills in trials to gain dungeon souls, artifacts of power that help you get stronger so that you may challenge and defeat the Gatekeepers, the toughest foes found within the labyrinth of dungeons.

Fixed:


  • The Absolute Ruin legendary spell now correctly shows the appropriate texture for chapter 2 areas.
  • Electron Coil is more reliable on colliding with the new chapter 2 enemies.
  • Removed/added several colliders where needed in chapter 2 areas.

Chapter 2 Launch Trailer - Available Now!

Chapter 2 for Soul Scathe is finally here! Featuring a heavy Dark Souls inspiration both from the world and enemy encounters in more bright yet still haunting dungeon environments. Chapter 2 continues the story progression, featuring new enemies, locations, and more dungeon souls to collect in an all-round more challenging chapter.

The new enemies are tougher and/or more aggressive, often capitlizating on fire damage, so definitely be sure to bring some ice spells to counter their resistances!

Soul Scathe Update 1.245

Fixed:

  • There is no more text overlap when selecting locomotion options in the options window.
  • The collider for the central platform in the hub is now functioning correctly.
  • The exit to menu button in the hub now works properly again.

Soul Scathe Update 1.24

Added:

  • There is now an options menu selection for basic graphics settings, providing improved texture and shadow quality over previous builds of the game.


Changed:

  • Potions now only break if they are empty, avoiding accidental misuse.


Fixed:

  • Sheathing a weapon is more reliable.
  • Corrupted Vessels no longer sometimes cause you to be permanently stuck in place.
  • The potion slots on your waist now properly highlight in green.


Work currently continues on Chapter 2, which will be a major content update. When I can share more, I'll be sure to post on here so stay tuned!

Soul Scathe Update 1.23

Added:

  • There is now an options menu selection for Teleport Climbing that allows you to teleport through climbing sections when you press the grip button. Only use this if you need this level of comfort.


Fixed:

  • The 3x use limit of Circuit Renewal will now decrease by 1 upon successfully healing rather than upon the initial cast.
  • A collider that was in the way of climbing in one of the climbing sections has been altered.
  • A Corrupted Vessel in a particular dungeon floor has now been altered to ensure it properly sticks to it's path.

Soul Scathe Update 1.225

This is a small update to fix weapon holstering for Index users.

Changed:

  • Index controller users must now let go of the controller grip to holster a weapon in the same spot as before.
  • Shoulder holsters have been moved back very slightly to help avoid weapons accidently holstering during combat.

Soul Scathe Update 1.22

Added:

  • A brief heartbeat sound and screen flash will now play if you drop below 40% health.
  • A blue circle will now appear around your vision while a Release Dualcast is charged and ready to fire.
  • You can now see your Captured Soul count in your spell selection menu where spells are assigned.


Changed:

  • There is no longer continuous haptics applied for a Release Dualcast. It will now only occur the once when ready to fire.
  • The hands for Index controller users have been moved apart slightly.
  • Weapons that were equipped in your hands or holstered are now saved and retain these states when loading a save, instead of spawning back at the Mistchamber hub shop.
  • The barrels in the training area can now be destroyed/interacted with so players can test out spells like telekinesis.
  • Secret items found in the hub no longer respawn if you've already grabbed it before.
  • Some climbing areas have had the surrounding colliders improved to allow for easier movement near tight spots.
  • Circuit Renewal can now be used in and out of combat but is limited to a maximum of 3 uses per dungeon.


Fixed:

  • Fusion Dualcasting will now always trigger correctly instead of sometimes not allowing you to dualcast.
  • It is no longer possible for telekinesis to sometimes be active on dead enemies.
  • Electron Coil dualcasting now works properly for left handed users.
  • Telekinesis will now properly highlight closeby objects.
  • The secret chest in the hub area now correctly spawns.
  • A collider has been fixed to allow for access to a previously inaccessible secret item in the hub area.
  • You can no longer equip a weapon if your spell selection menu or spell wheel is active in that hand.
  • You can no longer equip a weapon from your holster if a spell is active in that hand.
  • You can no longer open the spell wheel with a weapon equipped.
  • You can no longer grab climbing points with a spell in your hand or with the spell wheel/spell selection menu open.
  • It's no longer possible for you to float in midair sometimes while letting go during climbing.
  • The Dragon's Flames dualcast is now correctly orientated for Vive and Index controllers.
