We knew early on in development that we wanted to make science play an important role in Sparklite. We wanted the people of Geodia to revere science in an almost religious way. Our main character, Ada, is herself an engineer and several of the townspeople also have scientific roles like Professor Corwin, the biologist.
For this reason we wanted unlocking equipment to be themed around invention but weren’t sure on the best mechanics for it. Originally we played around with different mechanics like crafting but ultimately landed on the simple mechanic of finding schematics (Epiphanies) which then can be purchased (Invented) in town.
This gif is a shot of the Invention screen where Ada is inventing the Spark Slinger, a weapon that shoots further the longer the trigger is held down.
We're SO close to unlocking the Steam Demo for Sparklite!

Hello, and welcome back to the next part of our look at the Brutal Baddies of Sparklite!
Geodia is home to many docile and beautiful animals, however, not all is well in this usually-peaceful land! The power-hungry Baron’s nefarious mining activities have altered and polluted Geodia’s once-majestic Biomes. The animals residing in these areas have been affected too; transforming into mutated and aggressive creatures.

Professor Corwin's Bestiary of Brutal Baddies (part 3)
Hello, and welcome back to the third installment of our look at the Brutal Baddies of Sparklite!
Continued mining is causing Geodia’s landscape to shift, changing its layout with each Fracture and further affecting the creatures. Our hero, Ada, has undertaken a great and difficult cause; put a stop to the Baron, his Titans, and their pollutive mining, and reverse the effects they’ve had on Geodia and its inhabitants.
To aid you, Professor Corwin, Geodia’s foremost expert on Geodian wildlife, was kind enough to catalogue some of the mutated creatures you’ll encounter as you journey through the Biomes in Geodia. Needless to say, this should help you and Ada on your quest!
Can you help Ada save Geodia before it's too late?..
Escape Pod!
Ada’s escape pod has landed safely. But what is this strange land? And what is that faint rumbling below?
