Spells & Secrets Patch 1.04 - Patch Notes
Today we have a small patch to fix an issue with Chinese localization not being properly enabled. Also includes fixes for a few other rarely occurring issues.
Bug Fixes
Co-Op: Fixed an issue where a defeated player could cast spells under specific conditions.
Co-Op: Fixed an issue caused by entering the dungeon while one player was defeated.
Fixed an issue where selecting Simplified Chinese as language would not properly update texts in-game.
Fixed an issue where interaction VFX could stack on the players wand while defeated.
Fixed an issue where a defeated player could revive themself after defeating the final boss.
Demo: Fixed an issue that could result in getting stuck at the beginning of the tutorial when loading after saving and loading in a specific way during the intro section of the game.
With this update, we are finishing our work on new co-op and quality of life features. As opposed to the recent Update 1.02b, this is not a beta update and its content is available in the default version as well as the demo version of the game. All changes from the previous beta update will also be available in this new version, and the public beta branch has been disabled as a result.

New Features
Added language support for Simplified Chinese.
Demo: Updated the demo to match the main game. This includes all Co-Op features and other changes.
Demo: Added language support for multiple languages to match the main game: French, Spanish, Italian, Japanese and Simplified Chinese.
Changes
Co-Op: All relevant in-game UI screens (like shops or smartphone apps) can now only be navigated by the player who opened that screen.
Added different cursor visuals to help identify which player is currently in control of a UI screen.
Adjusted Bombard spell balance by increasing charge time, recovery time and mana cost and reducing its maximum range.
The “Essence Channeler” artefact now reduces Bombard’s charge time instead of making the first charge stage instantaneous. Adjusted the artefacts description accordingly.
Adjusted the mana cost of the “Potato Cannon” artefact to match Bombard’s base mana cost.
Note: Bombard was too comfortable and efficient when compared to other offensive options. The above changes were made to make other offensive spells and combos more viable when compared to the basic Bombard spell.
Disabled friendly fire for Barrage. This spell no longer affects allied entities.
Updated descriptions of Slash and Barrage to properly communicate these spells not causing friendly fire.
Removed the “save” option in the in-game character customization, as it was redundant with the “Save and Play” option.
Adjusted some UI elements to be compatible with the Steam Deck.
New texts with missing translations in languages other than English and German have been updated with final translation.
Adjusted japanese glyphs to prepare for chinese localization.
Demo: Disabled issue report hint displayed during loading screen.
Bug Fixes
Co-Op: Fixed the co-op partner’s companion applying contact effects to the other player.
Co-Op: Fixed offscreen indicator arrows not being colored in different player colors.
Co-Op: Fixed extra spell slots in the spell organizer not having the correct player color.
Fixed an issue with secret reward pools that caused secret puzzles to not reward a variety of containers with the intended distribution in the second and third floors.
Fixed the mimic ability of Magical Poltergeists being able to copy reward containers.
Fixed Slash not being able to destroy ice pillars.
