Spiral HQ isn’t quite finished with you ambitious knights yet! Based on feedback, we’ve decided that one new map simply isn’t enough. To that end, we’ve asked our gremlin to help engineer the following changes to lockdown this weekend:

On a Rocket Puppy map, be prepared to run from a hidden recon knight misdirecting rockets towards your face.

Celebrate the Year of the Rooster.. with Kats!
ATTENTION KNIGHTS
We here at Spiral HQ would like to wish you luck in the Year of the fire snipe… er… Rooster! We’re celebrating the new year by equipping knights with gear that would make any Rooster envious. The Rooster Prize Box is available through March 2, 2017.

An over abundance of roosters has also spurred other creatures to descend on the Clockworks. As you may have suspected, the black kats are once again storming the Moorcroft Manor Archives and consuming the valuable tomes it stores! We need all knights of rank 4-1 and greater to gear up! Do not fear going forward slowly knights; fear only to stand still.
You can find black kats in the Kataclysmic Confrontation prestige mission and various kat levels in the Clockworks. Be sure to collect Ancient Pages and visit Montague in Moorcroft Manor, or the Mysterious Crafting Machine in Haven, to obtain event themed items. If you perform a Dark Ritual and survive the encounter, you may find yourself in possession of a Black Kat Cowl or some materials which will allow you to craft some event exclusive gear.
More information on the Kataclysmic Confrontation can be found on the wiki here. If you have participated in a previous Confrontation and still have Ancient Page tokens, they are still valid! Ancient Page tokens do not expire. The Kataclysmic Confrontation will run through February 22nd.

Hardcore Mode Activated: Event and Video Contest

Are you a real gunslinger? Spiral HQ has decided it’s time we find out! For this weekend we have removed auto-target in all Lockdown matches and we’ll be keeping an eye out for those knights who rise above the rest. Auto-target will be off during PvP matches starting Friday at noon (game time) and ending at 11:59 pm Sunday night.
During this event we want you knights to document your adventures… or misadventures. To that end, we will be offering a few prizes for knights who catch amazing/amusing video of their antics or epic skills.

Have you been sitting around Haven looking for a challenge? If so, Rhendon is looking for elite recruits to join the Scarlet Scouts!
The Scarlet Scouts, like Recon Rangers, are tasked with traveling fast and light across treacherous land throughout Cradle. The Scouts are tasked with delicate and dangerous missions designed to help those in need.
You might recall your own extraction not so long ago, when Rhendon guided you from your crash site to Haven. If you want to help out with these ongoing efforts, supplies can be found in the Hazardous Prize Box, available through January 30, 2017.

Frozen Solstice and SK News
Attention Knights!
A chill is in there air and it's time to again celebrate the long Knight of the season. Through December 27, 2016, the Haven Treasury is offering Solstice Prize Boxes.
In these boxes, you may find the following items:

- Wings of Summer / Wings of Winter
- Sunshine Aura
- Snowfall Aura
- Crown of Winter / Crown of Summer
Each Solstice Prize Box also includes at least one Summer Confetti and one Winter Confetti item. Each box also has a bonus 10% chance of including a Bucket of Snowballs or a 10% chance to get 5 Golden Slime Coins. For details, head over here.
It's also the time of year for reflection and looking forward. We at Grey havens have successfully completed the massive task of transferring the game and are currently hard at work on several new projects of various sizes for Spiral Knights. Here's the rundown of the events for those who have yet to help end the humbug on Mount Krampus:
Those Grinchlins just won't quit. As with last year, they aim to ruin Winterfest for everyone, and they're making a pretty strong showing. Impostoclaus needs assistance in the Save Winterfest prestige mission! Help out to earn red, green, and white Winter Wish tokens. Trade with Randolph in Haven:

Winterfest Danger Rooms in the Clockworks: From these random encounters, you can collect Frozen Winterfest Wishlist tokens. Impostoclaus' trusty assistant, Randolph, is stationed by the Haven fountain and will trade these tokens for Winterfest Prize Boxes, in which you may find:
Invade the Grinchlin base of operations on Mount Krampus and put an end to their humbug! Face a choice at each shelter - collect loot and leave the mountain, or leave the treasure and climb further toward the summit!
Can you make it all the way to the summit? If so, you have a chance to win Golden or Silver Solstice Rings. These 4* trinkets protect against fire and freeze with a +1 health bonus. Leave them as-is, or combine them to craft a 5* Grand Solstice Ring trinket!
The Mysterious Alchemy Machine is also available and producing various festive themed weapons for your all of your holiday needs. Although some sound tasty, it is for external application only and we do not recommend licking them. Collect special materials from Mount Krampus to craft 5* Grinchlin reskinned weapons:
Decoration Kit Prize Boxes
