We have been working hard since our Beta in July on adding new features which lay the groundwork for future updates while also listening to feedback on the combat and resource management. Here is an overview of some of the changes and new features.
More combat moves and options, taking further inspiration from Platform Fighter combat (Neutral / Side attack split, better combo, more defined movesets, mobility & air stall options)
Meta currency no longer occupies a room spot in the map's route and is given to players as an additional reward in rooms as they progress
A new relic system allows players to equip one Relic with a unique effect, and can have random additional bonuses based on its level
A new in-run resource that powers up blessings you already own
New Elite enemy variants - more powerful but have better drops upon defeat
The difficulty of the game has been increased

This Beta sees a whole raft of new features that builds out the foundation of what we want Spiritfall to become. These new features and systems will allow us to quickly build new content going forward. We have also spent time fine-tuning Spiritfall's resources and combat based on the feedback we received from our July Beta.

Fixed a bug that caused the game to crash when returning to the hub while the arrow rain attack was playing in the region 2 boss fight

The health fountain has been moved outside of the regional shrine

Version 0.1.10 - Bug Fixes
Gameplay changes:
When offered to replace a Spirit Blessing, the new blessing will be of a higher rarity when available (up to Epic).
When fighting the Dark Trinity, the AOE that triggers when they finish absorbing essence now deals damage to the player.
Bug Fixes:
Fixed an issue with some attacks not applying the correct amount of Shield Damage
Fixed a bug that caused the game to crash sometimes when dying under specific conditions
Fixed wrong weapon name in end of run screen when using the Sisterhood Gauntlets
Fixed an issue in the codex that caused text to overflow and not automatically change its size
Fixed an issue that allowed invisible plant traps to spawn in the veridian trail
Fixed some issues in the boss fight of region 2 such as some attacks not dealing damage, enemies getting stuck and not teleporting, camera issue after the fight is over.
Restore to Default button is now always displayed regardless to control overrides
Fixed an issue that caused Vsync settings to reset / not display properly
Minor visual bugs / incorrect button indicators / minor UI fixes
Spiritfall: Beta Date Reveal
Greetings, dear community!
We are excited to announce that From the Brink is now called Spiritfall! There are several reasons for this change, we previously elaborated on that in our Discord server so hop over there if you want more information.
Along with this change, we can finally announce the date of our upcoming Beta test. The first closed Beta will run from July 28th until August 1st for a total of 5 days. Sign-ups are open until July 27th, on that day we will send those who registered their key. Register for the Beta here: https://www.gentlegiantgames.com/
Since our first Demo, we have added several new features and improvements. However, this is still a Beta so please come in expecting an unfinished game with occasional bugs or lack of polish.
