Spirits Abyss

Patch v15.2

//bug fixes
- Escape Menu: Exiting a game mode during a room transition could cause issues.
- HUD: The durability bar of an equipped gear item could show as full when at very low durability.
- Undying Pilgrimage: During the Death's Tithe stage a lot of mercenaries would spawn.
- Clashful Cards: If either player's cards were all killed then it would cause a soft-lock.
- Clashful Cards - Escape Menu: Doing a Quick Restart could restart you in another game mode.
- Cabin Reminiscel: Exiting back to the Hub would cause a soft-lock.
- Soul Survivor: Exiting back to the Hub would spawn you in the ground.
- Soul Survivor: Part of the statue on the Game Over screen was in the wrong position.
- The screen effect used when eating the Bizarre Mushroom item or playing the Glitchmoria Realm Trial was showing at a small resolution.
- Blood Moon Trials: Exiting to the Hub wouldn't reset the current trial (could cause issues if you were playing trials like Glitchmoria).
- Blood Moon Trials: Doing a Quick Restart may not fully restart the trial (eg countdowns wouldn't reset).
- Gamester Boutique sub-stage: The dealer where you can sell your Cards for Hearts could cause a crash and selling them wouldn't remove them from your Compendium.
- Abyssaletto special room: The game wasn't covering the entire screen.
- Tarot special room: Some of its text could appear offscreen.
- Rocketeer Jetpack item: This wasn't being used when holding the Jump button if you have the Warlock's Drift Shard clan relic.
- Gravetender enemy: He could spawn holding a Rusty key during an Abysm Challenge.

Patch v15.1

//bug fixes
- Settings - Controls: Trying to rebind controls would cause a crash.
- The game's window caption was saying 'Boneraiser Minions' instead of 'Spirits Abyss' (seems I can't stop thinking about raising bones).
- Hub: When viewing online leaderboards the Clan sprite was showing as locked.
- Hub: The mirror wasn't showing the player's reflection when the Cabin Reminiscel game mode was unlocked.
- Escape Menu: Th Quit menu wasn't showing the correct options in the Cabin Reminiscel game mode.
- Compendium - Online leaderboards: If you hadn't set a record yet then it wouldn't show anything (it will now change to showing The Elite in this case).
- Lexicanium Hunt: During the end death sequence if you had a Selestious Halo then it would show above the imprisoned child instead of you.
- Clashful Cards: The starting Ash Palace pots weren't spawning in the correct spot.
- Clashful Cards: When using the Transmutations action card it wasn't immediately updating the text.

Patch v14.28

- Added a "Spirits Abyss 100%" achievement for getting all other achievements. If you previously had them all then just boot up into the title screen and the 100% achievement should drop.
- Added an Achievements screen to the Grimoire Compendium where (you can probably guess!) you can view all of the game's achievements.
- Added a helpful tip when playing a Co-Op game for the first time explaining the Twin can teleport by pressing the Item button.
- Increased the chance for a crate to contain an item or be booby trapped if you already have a lot of bombs.
- Sullenwoods: During a Lexicanium Hunt, Hanged Haunters will no longer appear and Hang Hauntlings will always drop a Restless Heart upon death (and now have a small chance of doing so in other game modes).

//bug fixes
- Delete Save menu: Deleting all data will now restart the game (otherwise it can cause crashes in the current run). Resetting the settings wasn't setting the sounds to the default level.
- Dropping down from a ledge would instantly activate the Seraphus Feather and Selestious Talisman items.
- In the Frostal Fields region one of the room sections had a chance of creating a chest/crate inside of a wall.
- The Olden Trial sub-stage rewards weren't conforming with the Seed and could give you a passive item you already had.
- Getting the Curseify Hearts curse wasn't turning restless hearts into cursed hearts.
- A crate containing a Seraphus Feather would teleport it downwards through the floor.
- The Snow Globe had the wrong short description.
- The Rusty Key can now be used to unlock the Sinners Chambers domain region.
- The Wally Vomiter can now be hurt by the player's orbitals and item projectiles.
- The ambient warp vortex sound would continue endlessly in some circumstances (eg when using a Flute or quitting the game mode when close to one).

Patch v14.20

Some bug fixes and other bits and bobs tweaks based on feedback. :]

// General Stuff
- Updated the game's engine to the latest version of GameMaker so the issue some were having with fullscreen slow down should be fixed and apparently there should be slightly better performance too.
- Added a Borderless Window visual setting.
- In Single Player the game will now auto-update the active gamepad when a button is pressed (previously you had to manually set it).
- Moved the in-level camera down 6 pixels so you can see a little bit further down.
- The game now defaults to fullscreen (to conform with Steam Deck requirements).
- Added an Auto Ledge Grab setting in the player options, which when on will auto-grab nearby ledges when falling (ala Spelunky).
- Abysm Challenges: The Wonky Weekend has been renamed to Wonky Weeker and can now be replayed as many times as you like. If you died with zero score then you can replay the challenge. If you haven't yet beaten a Lexicanium Hunt then the Weekly Roam and Wonky Weeker wont be playable.
- The Paupers clan description now references that they steal their clan relics (as this mechanic seemed a bit confusing).
- The Endless Nightmare region now spawns a variety of extra wall gems from various regions.
- In a Gamester Boutique sub-stage if you have a wanted level for killing shoppies then a sleeping mercenary will be in the Boutique and the shopseller won't sell you anything until you dispose of the merc.
- In a Cargo Carriages sub-stage the train guard will now wake up if you interact with some of the special rooms (eg blowing up a vault chest or Abyssaletto machine).
- The Spooker's Reckoning now has a much higher chance of a Necarch appearing in an Undying Pilgrimage.
- When using an Abracadabra Wand or Gilded Hammer there's now a chance of it cursing you if used on a cursed item.
- The Mushroomify curse will now transform a random amount of your items (max 50%) into mushrooms (previously it was all of them). Added a few checks so you will always get a curse that does something (eg you won't get a 'randomise items' curse if you don't have any items).
- If you have a lot of cursed hearts when fighting a boss then getting hurt will randomly use up more than one cursed heart.
- Chaos Shades now have a couple of visual differences depending on if they carry a gem or are cursed by a jewel room.
- Added a yellow pixel to the end of the The Sullenwoods Chomper idle tongue so they're a bit easier to see.

// Bug Fixes
- The game would upload a score even if you didn't collect any gold which could cause some issues (eg show a leaderboard without you on it).
- Cabin Reminiscel: The Mirror Device's Seed wasn't saving correctly if you deleted the seed. If the Ashen Palace was the first stage you entered then it created a strange room formation.
- Frostal Fields: There was a rare chance of the path being blocked off.
- Slimes Mire: Multiple bubble blobs could spawn in the same position.
- Sanguine Mechanius: Using an Ossein Flute when close to the level exit's massive blade would keep playing the ambient buzzing sound.
- Some of the Boo enemies were using an off-black colour for their outline instead of true black.
- The Vampire Coffin and Bouldered Door sometimes appeared on a stage with a special exit which would causes issues (eg skipping a boss).
- In Cargo Carriages the sub-stage name wasn't showing.
- Examining the Mercenary Tent when other mercenary types existed caused oddities (eg in a Cargo Carriages sub-stage if you woke the tent guard then the tent would still act as if the guard was asleep).
- The top wall black outline sometimes didn't appear in some regions.
- Goopy Bombs: They weren't sticking to big vault chests.
- Snow Globe: Using this with an Abominable Frost onscreen could cause a crash.
- Loot Locator: Opened treasure chests were still appearing on the map. Chests/Crates being outside of the level would cause a crash.
- Wraithen Talon: Fixed a couple of issues related to how many flames are created (eg some enemies weren't creating any, some shouldn't be).
- Mecha Shielder: When spawned from a crate it would sometimes warp through the floor.
- Gilded Hammer: Some curse results weren't showing the correct text.
- Suffering a curse that changed your items whilst currently using certain items (eg a teleporter) would cause a crash.

Accursed Nightmares (v14)

Greetings again restless cherubs. It would seem your Father has thrown you into the Abyss once more... but you are not alone, for a hundred hungerous lidless eyes see you!

A few days ago marked a year since the release of Spirits Abyss. After a very manic Early Access it was nice to take a break from the Abyss and come back to it with fresh eyes. But firstly a big thanks to YOU for the really great reception to the game. :]

This update focusses on the main three game modes: Hunt, Adventure, and Pilgrimage, and in particular adding new late game content. But there's some other bits and bobs to play with too.

New Regions

Two new unlockable regions have been added called the Cursedom Temple and Endless Nightmare which can only be unlocked in the Undying Pilgrimage game mode. They are pretty chaotic and difficult so once unlocked they become new optional regions that you can choose to enter or not, if you dare.

The Cursedom Temple is a mad place suffused with curses and adds 5 new enemies. A new variant of the Restless Realms has also been added, called the Accursed Realms. Again the Accursed Realms are an optional area which can be accessed in two special ways if you fancy an extra challenge.

The Endless Nightmare is a truly peculiar place. It doesn't have any new enemies, instead the entire level, it's layout, traps, and enemies, are randomly plucked from every other region of the game.

New Clans

Two new clans have been added called the Monastic and Technocrats, which can only unlocked in the new regions. The Monastic are a cursed order but can mutate their bombs into controllable pets, while the Technocrat make use of technology and their own mecha-constructs. They're intended for experienced players so are rather unusual with their abilities.

Guardian Sentinels

Something I wanted with this update was to make the three main game modes feel a bit more unique from one another. In the Adventure mode before entering the Fallen Sanctum you'll now be confronted by a new mini-boss to contend with, the Sanctum Sentinel (though there is a secret way to bypass it). Since thematically they defend the Sanctum from intruders, in the Hunt mode the Fallen Sanctum has been replaced with the Sanctum Outerwall. And in the Pilgrimage a new Restless Sentinel awaits who defends the vortex to the Restless Realms.

Special Hearts

Two new special heart types have been added, Restless Hearts and Cursed Hearts, which behave like the Pure Hearts. Restless Hearts however offer less invincibility and are automatically removed at stage end. Cursed Hearts offer random invincibility and the chance of inflicting a curse effect. Speaking of which, 9 new curse effects have been added, ranging from turning everybody on screen into exploding frogs or bat bombs, to simply dropping a massive lit bomb on your bonce.

Other New Stuff

- Added 13 achievements related to the new content.
- 4 new sub-stages: Gamester Boutique, Cargo Carriages, Views Apparition, Olden Trial. Of note is the Boutique, which offers a way to make use of your collected Clashful Cards within the normal game modes.
- 6 new level special rooms, ranging from cursed monuments, to a desperate feller being hunted by a wraith.
- 16 new items, ranging from mecha-constructs, a holy item capable of rebirth, to a device that teleports all crates to you.
- Added a Quick Look button for speedily looking down.
- Added a Clan Skins setting, which allows you to set skins independently for each Clan.

Region Changes

Slimes Mire
- The variants look a bit different now. Previously just some of the walls would be recoloured but now all of them are.
- Added a pink variant that's very shroomy and bouncy and contains a big mushroom chest.
- Added the chance for a boingy exit which can extend straight up.

Sinners Chambers
- Added the chance for a normal non-path room to have a vertical wall to block off the row (level was otherwise a bit too open).
- Added some decorative dudes to the jails to keep you company.

The Sullenwoods
- Hanged Haunts have a chance of dropping a Restless Heart upon death.

Restless Realms
- Soulmass and Soulstorms have a chance of dropping a Restless Heart upon death (or Cursed Heart in the case of the Accursed Realm).

Other Random Changes

- The Minesmithers clan can now mine upwards by holding... Up!
- On the Game Mode selection screen pressing Down will now take you straight to that game mode's online leaderboard.
- Added a new track specific to the Nightmare region (called Shipwreck In The Pacific Ocean).
- Added some new level entry art when starting an Adventure or Pilgrimage in the normal regions.
- All huge chests now require a bomb to open (or Skeleton Key).
- If a booby trapped cursed crate is attacked there's now a chance it will turn into a Cursed Frog.
- Replaced all the Black & White screen effects with a slightly less eye scorching pink effect.

Sub-Stages
- Sealed Domain (Ashen Palace): Float blocks will always appear here now (so more items are useful).
- Sealed Domain (Sanguine Mechanius): A Chaotica Jewel will now also open it.
- Sealed Domain (Frostal Fields): Added a bunch of different items that will be used when interacting with the door to open it.
- Fairy Fountain: Bestowing a cursed item will now always result in you being cursed.

Stage Special Rooms
- Shop: If you buy all four items in a noble shop you'll now be given a Loyalty Card.
- Sin Repent: There's now a chance of the creature being Accursed, in which case the heart offering will be turned into a cursed heart instead of pure.
- Cursed Vault: Regular Jewels and Cracked Jewels can now also open it with a slightly different effect.

Item Changes
- Snow Globe: This item's use has been changed. It now acts like a souped-up Glint Firecrackers, plus any walls onscreen will be replaced with ice blocks and the region will switch to a cold variant if available.
- Spookobomb: You're no longer immortal when using this item (sorry).
- Mommy's Bow: This now gives a Restless Heart instead of a normal one.
- Divine Trinket: Removed the Pure Heart aspect as it was a bit confusing.
- Crate Locator: Renamed to Loot Locator as it now also shows treasure chests on your map.

Other Game Mode Stuff

The other game modes haven't been completely left out.

Cabin Reminiscel
- Added a new fishy NPC to the hub.
- The game mode unlock mirror will now only show after the Undying Pilgrimage has been beaten.
- Other unlocks will now show in this game mode (eg Hat/Clan unlocks).

Clashful Cards
- 7 new Fighter Cards have been added.

Blood Moon Trials
- Added 3 new trials: Preserver Purity Trial, Nightmare Realm Trial, Telemond Time Trial.

Soul Survival
- The Gleam Monocle will now also hide all falling snow.
- Added 8 items to the stage item pool.

*PHEW*

That's your lot for now. Enjoy, and here's some screenies to wet your accursed appetites! :]

Patch v13.17

Mostly just a big bunch of bug fixes, but a few niceties too. Content update coming later in the year. :]

- Improved the overall level performance, notably in the Haunt Burials and Slimes Mire (these two regions had the lowest performance).
- Death Sequence: Changed the stark white in the intial black & white effect to a less eyeball melting pink.
- Settings - Mouse Controls: This option will now also count the left/right mouse buttons to be used as Menu Confirm/Back with the Button Icons updating accordingly. It also clamps the mouse to the game window when the gameplay is active (ie not when the Status Screen is up).
- Setting the Menu Confirm/Back button the same as the Item button will no longer cause conflicts (eg on the Status Screen).
- Settings - Rebind Gamepad buttons: When setting the Menu Confirm/Back button it wasn't detecting if the button was already in use (and therefore possible to set both to the same button). The Confirm/Back prompt wasn't correctly showing.
- Settings - Control Input Config: The co-op play input wasn't saving correctly if the inputs were being swapped between the players.
- Settings - Button Icons: When currently selected it now shows the Menu Confirm/Back button prompts so you can see their effect.
- Playstation 4 Gamepad: The Share button should now correctly show ingame.
- Abysm Challenges: The three game mode menu gems weren't appearing (it now shows a gem for each current challenge you have submitted a score to).
- Loading the Abysm Challenges menu was wrongly changing the currently selected Clan causing issues with some menus (eg it would set the default Leaderboard to that Clan).
- Co-op: if Player 1 was stood in front of an examinable object and Player 2 pressed Up then Player 1 would wrongly examine the object. The examine button prompt would wrongly change to Player's 2 input if he was the last player to press a button.
- Grimoire Compendium - The Blood Moon Trials clan sweeps stat wasn't being set correctly. Fixed a few Beastiary visual bugs.
- Cabin Reminiscel - The crypt key now spawns in Stage 1 (so it shows in the Hunt mode). Killing a boss carrying the Collection Bowl would give a wrong amount of gold from the falling gem.
- Stage Complete: When choosing a gift the item bubbles that don't contain Clan items now have a different sprite.
- Sealed Domain unlock doorway - Ashen Palace: Restless Staff projectiles were wrongly not destroying the skulls. Runic Hammers were wrongly being destroyed by the skull's shield. Examining the doorway whilst carrying the Enrealmed Cloak or Polymorph Potion will now also work. Added an extra line of text when examining the door hinting at the skulls.
- Sealed Domain unlock doorway - Frostal Fields: The Gilded Hammer can now also be used to unlock the region.
- Slimes Mire: Breaking pots now have a chance of spawning a Gnatty instead of a Buzzy (chance is based on the Stage number). There was a chance one of the normal terrain rooms would create a Crate/Chest inside a wall (which would hide it). The exit room had a chance of cutting off one of its side paths (thus could block off a shop entrance).
- Rollerrone: Fixed an issue where after it was hit it would sometimes spin in mid-air when making contact with a wall (especially if you destroyed the wall it was tunnelling into).
- Buzzy/Gnatty/Bloaty Blighter: Fixed some visual issues related to their variants (eg Cursed/Hot variants not showing correct colours for particles/deaths).
- Sleeping Gravetenders/Mercenaries will now be rudely awakened if hit by a miscellaneous attack (such as a falling icicle).
- Booby trapped chest bomb explosions will now fire off a few mini-explosions (just like all other cursed bombs).
- Bombs/Bomb Box: When picked up they weren't showing the usual number effect so you know how many you picked up.
- Wraithen Talon: Some enemies weren't giving flams when you killed them.
- Bernard's Watch: The slow-down effect seems to break the frame rate for some people so it's been changed (for a short time it now makes you super fast, can jump high, and gives some invincibility).
- Gilded Hammer: Using the Hammer wasn't affecting its durability correctly.
- Succulent Apple/Bomb Dust/Mommy's Bow: These will now confer their bonus health/bombs at stage start alongside a sound and visual effect so you can see exactly what they gave.
- Puzzle Box: This will now correctly give you a gift at the beginning of Death's Tithe.
- Perfumed Playdough: Changed it's description to be more clearer what it does.
- Soulic Jewel: If were already carrying one and picked up another then it wasn't creating the second Jewel that swirls around you until the next stage.
- Coffined Vampire: Made his secrets more obvious.
- Abyssaletto: You can now bomb the machine if you really hate gambling. If you were carrying a Soulic Jewel when playing the machine then the jewel would wrongly show over the screen.
- Cursed Bomb Regurgeifier: It's backwall sprite was always blue instead of correctly using the region's colour.
- Skelly Statue: Stealing his item wasn't creating the usual item tip popup.
- Pacifist Realm Trial: You now need the Frostal Fields region unlocked to open this trial. The Sullenwoods and Blaspheme Librarium wrongly had a chance of showing up.
- Warlocks unlock: After freeing him he would wrongly be wearing your hat in the scene outside.
- Game Intro: Fixed a typo.

The Blood Moon rises... for you!

Spirits Abyss is now live, releasing from the restless realms of Early Access!

Just want to give a big thanks to YOU for journeying through these weirdly spookful caves with me and providing all that juicy useful feedback over the past year. Thanks to your support the game grew quite a bit larger than I expected and took some weird turns (fresh diaper please).

I'm sure the restless spirits will have many more secrets to be revealed in the future... but until then Mommy hugs shall have to suffice and I do hope the Undying smile upon your Abyss adventuring.

Ttoodlepips.. for now! :]

Sullen Satiation (v13)

Back again I see, for a final glimpse as the Abysm gapes its last breath...

Hey cherubs. This is the final Early Access content update before Spirits Abyss unseals its shackles and will release from Early Access next Thursday (Aug 27th). I'll still be doing some tinkering until the release so if you have any bug reports, feedback, etc, then let me know in the forums. :]

A new unlockable region has been added called The Sullenwoods. There hanged haunts and flesh ghouls roam the barrows. It's quite easy to unlock as it's intended as more of an introduction into how the region unlock system works. There's also a new achievement for unlocking it.

The 2 player Co-Op health system has been changed. Now the twin is basically immortal so won't take off health from the main player, but if he's hurt then he crumbles into a bone pile and must be revived by the main player by simply moving into him.

There's some new meanies to contend with...
- 5 new elite enemies have been added who are rather a bit more dangerous than the regular enemies. The chance of them showing up is based on the game mode to make each mode feel a bit more different. For example, in the Pilgrimage they'll always show up in addition to the regular enemies, but in an Adventure have a low chance of appearing instead of a regular enemy. They won't show at all in a Hunt.
- The Ashen Palace has an easier variant which has a chance of showing if you're still early in the run. A new enemy called the Necarch will have made its home their instead of the Wraiths. There's also a new enemy called the Ash Husk who will appear in the stage irrespective of the variant. A variant of the Necarch also has a chance of appearing in the Spooker's Reckoning instead of the usual gang of spooks as an extra challenge late on.
- 2 new enemies have also been added, one in the Sanguine Mechanius (Blood Boil) and one in the Death's Tithe (Coin Watcher) just to add a bit more variety.

10 new special rooms have been added, intended to just add some more variety in the stages. Ranging from teleporters, water wells, the Abysmletto slots machine and return of the poor banged up Pauper pincher.

6 new items have been added to round out the total amount of items to 80: Skeleton Key, Crate Locator, Skull Familiar, Drill Fister, Snow Globe, Restless Staff.

Some Clashful Cards tinkering...
- Your current Win Streak is now saved. A menu has been added after the clash has ended so you can change game mode without forfeiting your streak.
- 6 new themes (4 affect gameplay).
- New Lightning Spell that inflicts 1-6 damage on an enemy.
- New Transmutations action that changes all your current action cards into random actions.
- 13 new fighter cards associated to the new enemies.

Some Blood Moon Trials changes...
- 9 new trials added including no-hurty Undying boss trials.
- The Grimoire Compendium now has stats for this game mode.
- The choose trial menu icons will now be a different colour if a trial is complete but not by the current Clan.

Some Soul Survivor changes...
- Added 6 new meanies into the enemy pool.
- Added 4 new items into the item pool.

Some Cabins Reminiscel changes...
- Compendium: Replaced the Realmic Nodes stat with Special Secrets which includes all the Cabin mode hub unlockables.
- After playing your first Mirrored Abysm a sign appears outside the mirror cave entrance that shows the Cabin mode stats.
- Forest Shop: You now can't buy duplicate gear.

And some various other stuff...
- Settings: Added a "Right Stick Attack" control option in which case the gamepad's right analogue stick is used for both aiming and attacking.
- Settings - CRT Screen: Added a "light" option which reduces the screen distortion in particular (to reduce motion sickness).
- Added a small deadzone to the gamepad analogue sticks to help prevent stick drift.
- The game will auto-pause if the gamepad is disconnected or loses power and gameplay was happening.
- Added Cursed Chests: They have an extra chance of being booby trapped or containing curse coloured items.
- Hushed Monastery: Giving the fatso enough bombs makes his tummy go boomy.
- Seraphus Feather: You can now carry up to 3, each conferring an extra air-jump.
- Soulic Jewel: There's now a chance it may not crack if you were hurt by a low damage hit. They now auto-sell if carried to a boss.
- Puzzle Box: There's now a small chance the Box won't have an item that stage (the chance is increased a bit based on how many items you've had from it). If you already have a fair amount of bombs then the Box will have a very low chance of giving you any bombs.
- Cutty Cutlery: The chance of you gaining extra hearts/bombs is now also based on how many you already have (e.g. having a lot of bombs reduces the chance of getting more).
- Confession Kapala/Collection Bowl: Slightly decreased how often you receive hearts.
- Flesh Warden: They now have a magic attack if they can see you but can't reach you with their regular club attack.
- Gnatty: Added Cursed and Hot variants.
- Bounty Hunters now have a chance of being sleepy.
- Regionals Juncture: There's now a chance of a doorway being blocked (a handy bomb will do the trick). The chosen region is now independent of the normal way regions are chosen code-wise (so it's now possible to visit the same alternate region more than once).
- Some regions have an increased chance of having certain special rooms that suite their theme (e.g. Sanguine Mechanius has a good chance of having machine related special rooms).
- Special room - Wizard Trick: Offering a curse coloured item makes him auto-fail his spell.
- Special room - Cursed Vault: The chest now also contains a curse coloured item.
- Special room - Item Refiner: Refining a cursed coloured item will make it auto-explode with an even bigger boom. Added a cap of 10k gold, after which it auto-explodes.
- Special room - Chests Gamble: Added a star prize (a Soulic Jewel) and slightly increased chance of winning.
- Fate's Hallway: Added some walled-off chest rooms and spruced up the background.
- Crossings Shrine: Added a couple of chests at the top.
- Angry shopkeepers and mercenaries will now suffer damage from hazards (e.g. big saw blades).
- The big falling icicles (usually found in Frostal Fields) can now hurt enemies.
- Quite a bunch of bug fixes and other minor bits and bobs.

Enjoy! :]

Varianment Monastery (v12)

Greetings cherubs. :]

With this update the main focus has been adding more variety to runs and to add new ways of using up your resources, such as new rooms and items where you can use hearts/bombs in weird ways. I've had some great feedback on the very early game too so there's some changes to make getting into the early game more smooth. There's also some finishing up of the Cabins Reminiscel game mode.

A Beastiary has been added to the Grimoire Compendium. It keeps track of the beasties and bosses you've killed and gives some new info about them, like their names and a bit of lore. Two new achievements have been added for filling it up.

There's been some inventory improvements. There's now Next/Previous Gear buttons so you can switch equipable gear during play instead of having to open up the Status Screen. Speaking of which the Status Screen now has a Sort button which moves all usables to top of your inventory, and I manged to squeeze in an extra 3 item slots per page.

Four variant stage themes have been added, which changes the look of the level as well as the behaviour of some enemies, the obstacles you face, and the level generation. The Haunt Burials has a new cursed and chilly variants, the Slimes Mire a hot variant, and the Fallen Sanctum a chilly variant.

A new sub-stage has been added called the Hushed Monastery. There you'll find a cheery big fella and a husk of a little guy where you can offer some of your excess health and bombs for random niceness.

A Wanted system has been added for if you're rude enough to kill the kindly shopkeepers. Killing them increases your Wanted level, which will slowly go down at the end of each stage. If you're Wanted then shopkeepers shoot you on site and Mercenaries will roam the stage depending on how wanted you are. The Spooker's Reckoning will also be replaced with a Guilder's Reckoning.

8 new special rooms have been added to the regular stages. Ranging from you helping a vampyre out, getting polymorphed by a wizard or repenting your sins... just don't get swallowed by huge head!

18 New items have been added: Cotton Candy, Chip Cookie, Queen of Hearts, King of Spades, Displacer Field, Chaotica Bell, Sinners Trinket, Midas Touch, Gift Treat, Perfumed Playdough, Collection Bowl, Gilded Hammer, Mommy's Bow, Auton Repairer, Polymorpth Potion, Fishing Rod, Blood Monkey, Piggy Bank.

Some Cabins Reminiscel upgrades...
- On the Mirror Device you can now choose the game mode to play (Hunt, Adventure, Pilgrimage) assuming you have completed those modes the normal way, and you can now choose the exact Stage to start on.
- Added scenes for when you defeat the game mode bosses.
- Added a scene for when you return from the Abyss.
- Spawn rate of Ensouled Artefacts is much more generous now. Previously once you had a fair amount they became very difficult to find, but now each stage has a very high chance of having an Ensouled Chest and they may contain up to 3 Artefacts.
- Added a room to naturally end the Sullenwoods.

Some balance changes to make the very early game easier to get into...
//Haunt Burials
- Zombie: They now do a bite attack if they run directly into you, otherwise just bumping into them now only does 1 damage.
- Batty: Increased their hit mask so they're easier to kill (the mask they use to hit you remains the same).
- Big graves: They now have a chance of spawning the more easily to deal with baby ghosts instead of the flying skull ghosts (the chance is dependent on the stage).
//Slimes Mire
- Buzzy: Their damage has been reduced to 1 when idle and 2 when alert. Increased their hit mask so they're easier to kill, and their attack mask has been reduced so it's harder for them to hit you.
- Gnatty: Their damage has been reduced to 0.5
- The various Blob projectiles have been recoloured pink so they're easier to see and makes it clear they are to be avoided.

Other bits and bobs...
- The game over screen now has a specific message based on what killed you.
- 4 new Clashful Cards fighters (Guild Merchant, Mercenary, Jumbo Hailstone, Chaos Shade).
- Cursed chests and cursed gems have been added.
- Added bouncy boingas to the Slimes Mire for a bit of a laugh.
- Settings - Aim Indicator: Added a Smart option which will only display the arrows if you're a melee Clan and aren't aiming directly forward.
- Tidied up the Control Settings menus.
- Crates: Slightly reduced their chance of bombs, particularly if you have a fair amount of them already.
- Tithe Collector: If his attacks hurt you then you'll release coins.
- Goopy Bombs: These will now stick to enemies and bosses.
- Gleam Monocle: Each stage now has at least 1 pink diamond which is worth more than a regular diamond. However, pink diamonds can only be seen in walls if you have a Monocle.
- Safety Pin: Manually using it now creates a hurt animation but won't hurt you and doesn't cost durability.
- Confession Kapala: Reduced rate you gain hearts.
- Puzzle Box: After opening it you'll start with invincibility frames if an enemy is very close.
- Crow Caltrops: These will no longer be destroyed when an enemy touches them.
- If an enemy is hit by a player orbital (such as the flamey skulls from a Wraithen Talon) their Invincibility frames are reduced (so it affects melee Clans less).
- Fallen Sanctum: The floating vault now requires a bomb to crack open.
- Shop: Added the chance of a Gear shop, which stocks usuable items (with a good chance of non-consumables).
- Chronos Chest: You can now put in gear that doesn't have full durability.
- Blocked Hole: The boulder now has extra health based on the stage (so may require extra bombs to destroy). It now also takes into account the damage of the bomb (so you'll need more small bombs over large bombs).
- Haunt Burials: Graves haunted with Babby Ghosts will now become unhaunted if you destroy the floor beneath it.
- Fairy Fountain: Added a special response if you offer back an item you were just given by the Fairy Queen.
- Guilder's Emporium: Destroying the wall around the stage exit now makes the shoppies quite mad.
- Sealed Domain - Ash: Added a chance of floating blocks being there (so you might not need extra mobility).
- Undying Pilgrimage - Added an extra shop in a random mid-stage that's always a high quality Gear shop.
- Undying Pilgrimage - Spirits Abyss: Added the chance the stage will have chests.
- Various bug fixes.

Enjoy! :]

Devourerous Pilgrimage (v11)

Greetings hungerous ones...

A new game mode has been added called the Undying Pilgrimage, intended as an extra challenge beyond the Restless Adventures. It's longer than an Adventure, contains a new multi-form end boss, two new end regions, and you'll also have to battle through variants of the existing bosses (they're a bit weaker but have a couple of new tricks up their gob). To unlock the new game mode you have to open the four Sealed Domains (or just input the Konami code on the title screen).

Plus misc changes...
- 3 new Clashful Cards fighters (Tithe Collector, Soulmass, Soulstorm).
- If you haven't unsealed the Mechanius region then during an Adventure a Skulliseller will now appear on stage 5 or 6 selling a Soulic/Cracked Jewel for a hefty price.
- Restless Purity Trial: He no longer has a second phase.
- Shroom Shack: Added chance for the chests to have other stuff. Eating a mushroom will make the big shroom quite mad.
- Purity Pendant: This item now only works if you don't currently have any pure hearts, but can now be triggered by any heart boosts (e.g. from a Kapala).
- Glass Bell: Will now do random damage against wraithen creatures (enemies from the Fallen Sanctum and Ashen Palace).
- Bottled Fairy: Will now heal more if you're low on health.
- Confession Kapala: The regen rate has been slightly reduced.
- Soulic/Cracked Jewel: If you win the game carrying one then its value is added to your score.
- Skeleton: They will now suffer damage if they fall onto spikes.
- Bubble Blobs: Gnatty's can now get stuck in them. Using a Jetpack or Feather now makes it much easier to escape from them.

And bug fixes...
- Regions 3/4 were wrongly choosing music from the 1/2 region music pool instead of their own.
- Crate items spawning in an enclosed space would sometimes spawn down through the floor.
- Eating a mushroom/choccy/pizza whilst carrying the Greasy Wrench would allow you to eat that item twice.
- Goopy Bombs: If you're against a wall and hold up when releasing the bomb it was warping downwards.
- A skeleton emerging from a pot that had a wall above would get stuck inside it.
- Regionals Juncture: There was no text for the Sinners Chambers doorway.
- Clashful Cards: Grapple attack was sometimes moving the target card to the wrong table spot.
- Compendium - Leaderboards: Setting it to the Speedrun category and then entering the Soul Survivor leaderboard would cause a crash.
- Skin Selector: Picking up a new hat unlock then exiting the game will retain the new hat despite it not being selected in the menu.

Enjoy! :]
