Need a reminder on what you can expect to find in this update? Don't worry, here's a little refresher:

SPIRIT PETS! You'll now be able to summon spirits as pets, using pet shrines! Hunt down pet ritual scrolls for help on how to summon them, and you'll have your own spirit companion that might be a bit less grumpy (sorry Wonyan)



NEW SPIRITS & QUESTS! You'll find some new spirits about town which you'll need to have your spirit vision ready for... what possibly could they want?



One of the new spirits you'll find is a SPIRIT MERCHANT! You may need their help during one of the quests, or when it's time to summon a spirit, so make sure your spirituality is high enough...

Spirittea Update 1.9



Hi everyone!

We've just pushed a small update for Spirittea, which includes mainly bug fixes and quality of life changes:


  • Set the upper tiles of the first floor of the school walls to be visible again
  • Player will revert from Tanuki form when sleeping in the bed
  • It got a bit windy, so we reduced how often wind blows
  • It's now slightly easier to approach bugs on trees without scaring them
  • You can now see the tree bugs fleeing up the trunk of the tree rather than just disappearing
  • Reworked the veggies that grow outside of the convenience store and Song's shop to be more seasonally accurate
  • Gave Amelia proper responses to questions she asks you
  • Optimized performance related to textures
  • Performance improvements related to objects drawn in-game
  • More optimization with firefly spawning
  • Adjusted the invisible wall on the ledge at the very northwest part of town (before you could nearly walk onto the water)
  • Fixed bug where facing a monkey in the hot springs and trying to select something in your bag resulted in a crash
  • Fixed an issue related to player movement speed
  • FIxed Clarence's walking path around town (at 10pm on Sunday nights) so he doesn't just teleport to bed
  • Fixed some small localization errors
  • Fixed bug where Ribbard and Kurkapi's music wouldn't play if they were singing and the player entered a different room for a time
  • Fixed bug where Ito said one of Sujin's quest hint lines
  • Re-fixed bug with sinking cups where the NPC wouldn't automatically end the game after a max number of games had been played

Spirittea - Phantom Friends Update!



Hi everyone!

We're finally here with another update, and it's a big one - the Phantom Friends Update!

We have a whole host of exciting new content in this update, including SPIRITS which we know you have all been dying to see more of! To make things even better, you can grab Spirittea for 30% OFF in the Steam Autumn sale which goes live today! Enough from us though, should we get into it?

SPIRIT PETS! You'll now be able to summon spirits as pets, using pet shrines! Hunt down pet ritual scrolls for help on how to summon them, and you'll have your own spirit companion that might be a bit less grumpy (sorry Wonyan)



NEW SPIRITS & QUESTS! You'll find some new spirits about town which you'll need to have your spirit vision ready for... what possibly could they want?



One of the new spirits you'll find is a SPIRIT MERCHANT! You may need their help during one of the quests, or when it's time to summon a spirit, so make sure your spirituality is high enough...



And as always, we fixed a truckload of bugs, and added a bunch of quality of life improvements and more content to accommodate the new additions in this update! Here's the full breakdown:

  • Added Poegs to the game - it's a spirit pig that can be fed different foods and produces different coloured spirit essences (used in creating pets at pet shrine). Appears in-game if you've been in town until at least the 5th of the first year
  • Added Poeg detector to spirit shop inventory. It can show where the Poeg is located on the map screen (a little white pig icon)
  • Added pet shrines to the game, which can be used to summon pets
  • Added pet ritual scrolls to the game (instructions on how to create pets)
  • Added pet shrine to secret shop inventory
  • Added pet shrine to Song's shop rotation
  • Added pet shrine to secret shrine room
  • Added a NEW spirit merchant. Will only be visible and active as a shop if spirituality is more than or equal to 100
  • Added ability to scrub spirits for spirit materials (using broom)
  • Added new flower shrine quest (started once player unlocks the pond in the bathhouse)
  • Added a flower shrine to outside of the bathhouse area
  • Added spirit flowers types around town
  • Added 10 lion's mane spirit flowers around town
  • Added water to bathhouse upgradable pond
  • When the bathhouse pond has been upgraded, a watering can is spawned in front of it. The watering can is also added to the recovery shrine at this time. The watering can cannot be sold at the selling shrine
  • Added veggies to Ito's truck shop. Each day Ito is in town, 2 random veggies that grow in the wild can be sold at his truck shop. The next time Ito is in town, the veggies will be randomly picked again (so it's possible to see the same veggie again)
  • Added lasagna & the recipe for it
  • Ensured that Song's shop will be selling the spaghetti recipe, noodles, tomatoes and beef during the stage of the spirit quest where lasagna needs to be fed to the Poeg
  • Added tutorial for ceiling and floor brooms (the floor broom specifically describes how to get spirit materials)
  • Revised the backup achievement code check which triggers when you load your save file. It will check more efficiently if you've been in town at least one year and should have the Countryside Experience achievement
  • Fixed a bug where Kurkapi and Ribbard's songs wouldn't end when they were done bathing, or the bathhouse was closed
  • Fixed bug where playing the drinking minigame 6 times soft locked the minigame, and didn't naturally end with dialogue from an NPC
  • Fixed issue with Kim's quest's spirit where the spirit's depth was off when sitting in the tea fields (making it so the player could stand over top of its sprite when the player should be behind it)
  • Fixed Maru and Sora's positioning on Tuesday and Thursday nights at 8pm (should be by the temple but were teleporting to the school)
  • Fixed "controller is disconnected" message font size for non-English languages
  • Added option to in-game menu to adjust deadzone level of joysticks
  • Added option to in-game menu to have the game auto detect controller inputs for you, or to manually set the controller being used
  • Added Aurum's background information to his spirit charm (updated when spirit tome is dug up)
  • Fixed Corvink's bathing type to be "Swimmer" instead of Regular
  • Adjusted spirit material drop rate to 45% chance and decreased required scrub time from 6 seconds to 5.5 seconds
  • Added a Wonyan scrubbing reminder/tutorial that triggers in the center of the main bathhouse room if the Poeg quest is done, and if the tutorial hasn't been triggered yet

Spirittea's One Year Anniversary!

Hi everyone!

We've hit a special milestone today - Spirittea turns 1!

Phew! A whole year since we launched Spirittea, and it's been a year full of exciting things! We've brought you a bunch of cool updates, new content - there's a ton of things! Not to mention, we've got a super exciting content update dropping very VERY soon, so keep an eye out for that! We're also part of Cozy Quest too, which means you can grab Spirittea for 30% OFF!

But in the meantime, should we have a look at the last year?

A little bit after releasing Spirittea, we launched a Wonyan Plushie, so you could have your favourite spirit cat follow you wherever you went!



In Update 1.5.0, we made karaoke easier, added more cooking recipes, and added more language support! Not only that, the next few updates were RIDDLED with bug fixes and quality of life improvements!



In Update 1.5.6, we added a bunch of new UI elements, improved NPC behaviours, and fixed a long list of even more bugs!



In Update 1.5.8, we added inventory stacking, and added weekend bathhouse shifts!



In the SPECQUACKULAR Update, we added BATHHOUSE DUCKS (because how could we not), a new shop vendor called Ito, and new bathhouse seasonal mechanics!




In the Helping Hands Update, we added a hint system to help you out in case you got stumped with certain quests, so you were able to ask Wonyan for advice, alongside even more bug fixes!


In the Hook, Line & Spirit Update, we overhauled the fishing mini-game to make it even better and easier! We also added a night time darkness toggle & streamer mode, and hot springs animations!



In the Moving & Grooving Update, we added a bunch of new animations to the people in Spirittea to give them even more life in their hobbies & daily routines! We also added a recovery shrine, where you'd be able to find any quest related items you may have lost!




And finally, we launched the physical edition of Spirittea on Nintendo Switch, which you can still grab now by clicking here!

Introducing the Moving & Grooving Update!



Hi everyone!

We're back with another Spirittea update - the Moving & Grooving Update! To celebrate, you can grab Spirittea for 30% OFF right now!

This update brings some cool new content, alongside some quality of life changes & more bug fixes which we know you're going to love!

Here's what you can expect to find:



New NPC animations! We've finally added more animations to the townsfolk, so now when you walk around, you'll see them engaging in more activities and doing more with their daily routines!




A recovery shrine! If you ever lose an item that's related to a quest, then you'll be able to find it again here, so no more panicking over Eric's lost toothbrush!



We've also updated localisation, so all the changes and content we've added since launch will be in all of the languages in Spirittea!

Those are the major changes in this update - here's a full list of bug fixes & quality of life changes:


  • Fixed bug where large bath would remain frozen if heaters were placed on left or right side of bath
  • Finished adding Gale's, Jan's, Julian's, Kenzo’s, Ling’s, Maru’s and Kim’s animations
  • Changed how the shovel, net and rod look in water reflections
  • Fixed crashes around wind and atmosphere audio
  • Fixed a bug where blank spots in Fenias's shop would appear as a value of -1 if the player scrolled vertically
  • If an item disappears when moving between rooms, a pop up now occurs to highlight to the developers there has been an issue. The player will then be holding an invisible object rather than the game crashing like before.
  • Fixed an issue where Kim’s quest doesn’t count buying the small retro TV in progressing the quest
  • Added in all the new localised text!
  • Added a new face to the character customisation at the start of the game
  • Changed the photocamera to being purchasable just one from the shop, but also from the new recovery shrine
  • Removed brooms from Song’s shop and made them available at the recovery shrine
  • Changed the duck statue in the lord room to hopefully stop it from eating people’s items!
  • Added the item recovery shrine/shop to the stone shrine to the left of the town shop. Key items can be re-bought there if they're somehow lost
  • Added a backup for Miko’s quest in case spirit is teleported out of bounds, so the player can still complete the quest
  • Added the ability to clean and re-clean the duck debris around duck nests (though it returns after 5 days due to ducks losing feathers)
  • Fixed the friendships achievement triggering when raising friendship naturally in game (not loading from the main menu)
  • Removed the dust in the bathhouse which was unreachable for players to clean up
  • Fixed the bug where trying to remove multiple objects from the fridge or storage chest, with a full backpack, resulted in one of the object being created at the player's feet
  • Added 3 atmospheric cicada sound effects for summer
  • Removed friendship gained from digging at a spot already dug up
  • Fixed a bug where if the season changed to spring or summer and Jillian or Yari came to town, they wouldn't have the correct friendship level (unless the game was re-loaded from the main menu)
  • Boosted pumpkin grow chance from 30% to 70%

Spirittea's Hook, Line & Spirit update is OUT NOW!

Hi everyone!

It's time for another big update to Spirittea! This time, we have been working on a big new feature, and a whole host of bugs have been taken care of! Are you ready to go FISHING?

Since our last update, we've been looking at feedback and watching folks play. Something we really wanted to make more engaging was the fishing minigame - so we totally redesigned it! From today, you can play the brand new minigame (complete with new targeting!) or switch in the options to keep the old minigame and play as you have been - it's totally up to you!



The new fishing system comes with a brand new casting bar to make sure you hit your target every time, then dives down under the waves to put you in control of reeling in your latest catch - can you time your fishing just right before your line snaps and you're sent reeling?

Every fish will have some stamina; it's up to you to outlast them, but keep your precious rod in one piece!



Alongside the new fishing, here are some quality-of-life changes & bug fixes we've added:


  • You can now toggle how dark it is at night to help you navigate better
  • Added a STREAMER MODE in the options to better hide away details about you in Moby's quest
  • Fixed a bunch of spooky bugs where some ducks could be deleted unintentionally, or their reflections would sit in baths where they weren't!
  • Made it so the big cherry blossom by the bathhouse goes transparent when the player walks behind it (to help with finding sakura blossoms)
  • Fixed it so that Spirits no longer leave towels in the unreachable void if you suddenly leave the bathhouse
  • Added ice (and icey sounds!!) to the rice paddies in winter
  • Fixed bug where karaoke on PC would display correct key bindings but would only accept default inputs
  • Added ability to change the text finished sound or to remove it completely
  • Added floor and ceiling brooms to Song's shop. Change the camera, repair kit, retro TV, quest for the end II, stinker statue, and Gamestation 7 to be able to be purchased more than once (for people that lost/sold them)
  • Added a Kenzo hotspring animation!
  • Fixed an issue where spirits would sometimes disappear when you put them in a bath

Spirittea: The Helping Hands Update is OUT NOW!

We're bringing you a big Spirittea update, which we think you're all going to love - introducing the Helping Hands update!

It's been a massive last few months since we launched in November, which of course was the Cheesemaster's first ever launch. In between then and now, They've had a baby and moved to South Korea, so these last few months have been huge!

There's been so many things we've wanted to fix and update, and this update is the first of many! We appreciate all of you who have given Spirittea so much support, and been patient while we've been going through so many life changes. But now, we're so excited to bring you the first of many updates, all thanks to your feedback and bug reports!

Here's what we're bringing you with this update:



Introducing the Wonyan hint system! Now, whenever you're doing a quest and you're unsure of what to do, you can ask Wonyan for help in pointing you in the right direction!


When you interact with Wonyan, you'll see the option to ask for advice. Choose the quest you need help for, and Wonyan will give you some clues!



Not to mention, some quality of life changes & bug fixes:

  • The effect of drinking will wear off with a good sleep
  • Added naked reaction text for Ito! 😱
  • Fixed amount of friendship given to NPC if player wins minigame (was half of amount if NPC wins)
  • Removed poobird near the player's house that led to nowhere
  • Removed the early game Wonyan hint system (for Sujin's, Moby's and Young's quests)
  • Wonyan can't be talked to (get in your way) when the bathhouse is running (unless the tutorial hasn't been completed yet)
  • Slowed Clarence's bird watch animation
  • Fixed bug where fish couldn't be offered to the lord spirits and to regular bathing spirits
  • Fixed a crash when the player would hit bath monkeys with a net
  • Fixed an issue where food couldn't be given to spirits when attempting to give it from above spirits (aka spirits sitting in the top row of the bath)
  • Fixed a bug where if the recipe dropped by a crab (Julian's quest) spawns in an inaccessible place, re-entering the room will move the recipe to the beach
  • Fixed a bug where Amelia's and Clarence's quests were still both triggering on the mountain at the same time

Spirittea: Switch SPECQUACKULAR Update 1.6.6 & MORE!



Hi everyone!

We have some amazing news for Switch players, we're finally bringing you our most recent update - the SpecQUACKular Update!

But not only that, as well as new content, we're bringing you a whole host of changes, which means you'll be receiving all the updates & fixes players got on Steam, all in one go! Now you'll be completely up to date!

To start with, here's all the new content you can expect:



DUCKS! You'll now be able to have cute, algae eating ducks in your bathhouse! 🦆


You'll find a brand new shop vendor called Ito who will have a few new things to sell! His truck will pass through town here and there, so be sure to keep an eye out!


You'll notice new seasonal mechanics in the bathhouse! Depending on the season, you'll find your baths filling up with algae, ice, and even fallen leaves! Keep the baths clean (with the help of the ducks!) to make room for your spirits! Maybe the new bathhouse heaters might help? Perhaps a net might help pick up those pesky leaves outside?


We gave Bruce some new animations!


We added a reticule to fishing, so now it's even easier to see where the bobber will land and where exactly you're fishing!



And now, here's the full list of changes you can expect:


  • Drinking game changed to sinking cups!
  • Fixed error where items could be lost by placing them on shelves and tables
  • Fixed issues with items disappearing within inventory
  • Fixed issue where NPC’s would disappear behind the restaurant
  • Fixed bug where NPC’s would become stuck on a path upon reload
  • Fixed issue with Quill where on Saturday nights at the food stall he would ask if you want to stop hanging out with him
  • Issue fixed with NPC’s appearing on the map at a certain location but them actually not being there
  • Fixed issue where NPC’s couldn’t be found during tutorial quests whilst with Amelia if you had quit to main menu mid game
  • Fixed multiple issues in Miko’s quest around the mysterious rabbit and cake
  • Fixed issues with a softlock during Leigh’s quest if you spoke to the spirit behind the canvas
  • Doubled ugligrass spawn rate
  • Fixed issue with Clarence’s quest where the statues wouldn’t come back if you left the room
  • Fixed issues with the boar where they could hit the player when they were passing into another room
  • Removed requirement to complete Onishi's quest for algae to start appearing
  • Fixed collision issue with Ito's truck
  • Fixed Ito's icon appearing where Yumi is on map
  • Fixed an issue where ducks being full wasn't reset upon a new day
  • Fixed bug where player can't pick something up after leaving bathhouse while attempting to hold duck
  • Fixed a bug where the green truck's collision box would be present even if the player was in a different room
  • Fixed bug where there appeared to be a stretched sprite drawn below the ducks occasionally
  • Fixed amount of friendship given to NPC if player wins minigame (was half of amount if NPC wins)
  • Fixed a bug where Amelia's and Clarence's quests were still both triggering on the mountain at the same time
  • Fixed an issue where food couldn't be given to spirits when attempting to give it from above spirits (aka spirits sitting in the top row of the bath)
  • Gave Fae a sleeping animation
  • Added sound effects to poobirds
  • Fish can be offered at the lord spirit offering table, as well as given to spirits while bathing
  • Allowed player to be able to run the bathhouse on the weekend even when Fae has an upgrade scheduled (because she's technically not working)
  • Modified quest code/save data so that the town board will now consider quests completed without needing to talk to NPCs after you've helped out the spirit. The NPCs will still have the post quest dialogue and the notebook won't be marked as completed until you talk to them, but the town board will take down the notice after you've helped the spirit
  • Made it so Yumi's quest can be triggered if it's 5 something pm, so long as she's not still in the school
  • Added backup code that will teleport Yumi to the correct spot at the end of her quest if her pathfinding fails for 3 seconds
  • Fixed the selling shrine displaying a -1 for a price
  • Fixed crash due to bath monkeys not being able to find a spot in the outdoor baths
  • Fixed the resale value of rice to be equal to the sale value (rather than worth more)
  • Changed criteria for the quest done stamp in the notebook (marked completed when expected. No post-quest dialogue needed to mark as complete)
  • Fixed a bug where oil beetle can't be caught in trap without crash
  • Fixed a bug (again) where NPC hobbies in notebook were being recorded as "1"
  • Fixed bug where the shop called seaweed "seaweed soup"
  • Fixed a bug where getting hit with snowball while biking makes bike disappear
  • Fixed a bug where biking while getting an item resulted in item floating and unable to be picked up
  • Edited player collision code to stop them from passing through the bridge on the east side of town
  • Fixed a bug where player could clip through the bridge on the right side of town
  • Tentatively fixed bug where game would crash and error report indicated bath monkeys were the cause
  • Added names to the bottoms of letters
  • Changed the end of Amelia's quest so that you can get the post-quest dialogue even if NPC is working the shop
  • Fixed a bug where Wonyan gave Morinoba's steam deck dialogue at end of game
  • Fixed bug where player couldn't pass through the temple tunnel
  • Seemed to fix bug where rabbit spirit in Miko's quest teleports through wall if you place the lure close to the purple door in Miko's house
  • Fixed book UI to make sure progress bar can't surpass the UI space for it
  • Fixed a bug where you can't cook fish in bathhouse
  • Fixed a bug where Amelia's quest status isn't reset after quest completion, so her freetime inquiries and dialogue are still quest-related
  • Fixed coding error with bath spots (hopefully related to why spirits sometimes disappear from tub)
  • Fixed (again) the mix-up between the two dig spot locations down by the temple area
  • Fixed some sloppy coding for Sujin's quest where the spirit might appear unresponsive
  • Manually set some NPCs to be performing certain actions during the "meet the townsfolk" segment of the intro
  • Made 2 books in Song's shop purchasable more than once
  • Fixed a spelling bug with Eric's dialogue about remembering to play music
  • Fixed a bug where button prompt to show details said "welcome to the karaoke minigame"
  • Bath monkeys won't be stuck levitating if you release them near a lamp, as well as when you're hovering over an object you can pick up
  • Fixed a crash when Yari is destroyed because the season switched to fall when the player slept
  • Removed NPC destroy event (moved code to clean up event)
  • Fixed Morinoba's dialogue when playing on Steam Deck
  • Removed train carriage destroy event and replaced it with clean up event
  • Blocked the boiler saw from being accessible until specific parts of the tutorial
  • Made the bathhouse tutorial entrance invisible blocker persistent during the tutorial so players can't break the tutorial by accidentally leaving at the wrong time
  • Added an extra line of clarification to the bathhouse upgrades UI (upon paying for an upgrade) indicating the day the upgrade will be finished, and stating that Fae will finish the upgrade at the end of her work day on that day
  • Fixed a bug where lord spirit text when moving between rooms would cause time to freeze
  • Changed some code to help with crashes when entering/exiting the bathhouse
  • Put a check in to destroy the train if it's somehow around when it's not 7am or 9pm
  • Fixed an issue where if you saved the game after seeing the bathhouse with Wonyan for the first time (exterior) and exited completely, you will now be able to progress the tutorial in the convenience store as intended
  • Fixed a bug where "blank text" text appears in Yumi's page of notebook
  • Fixed a bug where there was seemingly another character page in the notebook to the right of Yumi's page. Also removed the ability to flip past Yumi's (the last) page
  • Fixed a bug where if you were moving an object in storage or the fridge to a new location, and instead of selecting the new location you chose the initial spot, the item would disappear
  • Jan will now stop 35 pixels from the target NPC when helping the player find everyone, rather than stopping on top of them
  • Added backup to prevent baby boar from hitting player while player is entering a new room
