SPRAWL FOR CONSOLES HAS ARRIVED! + NEW PC UPDATE VERSION 1.5.1
We’ve been listening and working diligently, and we’re super happy to announce that SPRAWL is now out on Playstation 5, and Xbox Series consoles! Check out the trailer below:
Not only that but we’ve just launched a massive QOL update that fixes numerous bugs, adds some requested community features as well as increasing the amount of languages SPRAWL supports to 10! This means that there’s never been a better time to give the game another go or to hop in for the first time. These include:
Button prompts now display on tutorials and switches across keyboard and controller.
Players now respawn with a minimum of 4 pistol shots to help get back on their feet without relying on melee.
Respawn now includes 4 seconds of invulnerability.
Fixed an issue with hitstun on various enemies.
Addressed enemy navigation issues across levels in the game.
Fixed music looping issues on all race maps.
Resolved an issue with Codex navigation.
Fixed issues with Codex labeling.
Various fixes to all localizations.
Improved setting sliders functionality for gamepad users.
Added additional languages with proper font fallbacks.
And many more!

ONE YEAR OF SPRAWL! HAPPY BIRTHDAY! WHO WANTS SOME FREE STUFF?
I can’t believe I’m saying this, but it's officially been a year since SPRAWL was released! Since then our community has only grown. The reception to the game has been beyond our wildest dreams with us currently sitting at nearly 1600 reviews, and a very positive review score. We couldn’t have done it without all of you sharing and playing the game. We love games, and we love you all.
So what's next?
Well we’ve got a couple of surprises in store for you for our first birthday, the first of which is a formal announcement. SPRAWL is coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, and it’s coming very very soon. We’re putting together the finishing touches as we speak, with this release will come a much needed QOL update to the base game with some hotly anticipated community requests. We’ll have more details on this in the coming weeks.
But that's not all!
We went ahead and did something crazy. We’d like to announce SPRAWL 96. Check out the trailer here:
SPRAWL 96 is a celebration of SPRAWL. It’s also our way of giving thanks and giving back to the communities which made SPRAWL possible. SPRAWL would be nothing without the Quake Mapping community, SPRAWL was originally built on Darkplaces, and the resources provided by nearly 30 years of dedicated modders made it possible to get it started. Hannah and myself, Carlos (REVEL), met on the Quake mapping discord, and well, the rest is as you say, history. Here we are 4 years later paying homage to our roots.
So what actually is it? Well it's a revival in a sense of that original Quake engine version of SPRAWL. It answers the question “What if SPRAWL actually existed in 1996?”. So it includes every single SPRAWL weapon (sorta), a big portion of our enemy roster, and our movement mechanics all on a custom fork of the Ironwail Quake source port. It’s a near total conversion gameplay mod focused on vanilla entities setup, so all non-mod specific maps (non-copper, non-ad, non quoth etc) can be played. So long as you own Quake, you can play SPRAWL 96. For the modding community as a whole, we are also allowing you to use any of the assets created for SPRAWL 96 directly in your own non commercial mods. Careful set up has been taken in particular to the enemies models to make them vanilla compatible. Same frame data as vanilla monsters! We’ve also included a texture wad full of textures directly taken from SPRAWL, as well a prefab.map file which includes set ups for most of these assets, again free to use in your own non commercial mods. There are over 400 models, sounds, textures provided! Plenty of which is archival from the 2020 QuakeSprawl version of the game.
So long story short, you got a copy of Quake? You can head over to our discord and download SPRAWL 96 for free right now and get playing.
Since the release of SPRAWL last year, we've added two new game modes, time trials and horde, and alongside them some new music has crept into the game. There's been an overwhelming amount of people asking for it, so I've taken the time to clean these up and get them ready for release. You can grab them exclusively on Bandcamp for the time being. I'll probably keep it this way, but we'll see what happens!
Alongside those songs I've included a whole gamut of scraps that didn't make the final OST, this includes early versions of some songs, as well as tracks I was writing while trying to figure out the general sound and texture for the game.
Oh I can't forget the full extended cut of Ghost Wetware!
So for those of you that have been asking for some more SPRAWL music, we’ve got you covered.

WOW!
We did it everyone, we made it to 1000 reviews, with a very positive rating. We couldn’t have done it without all your support. We talk about this a fair bit, but it really is humbling to see our first game have such a positive reception, and impact as well. Since release we’ve received an overwhelming amount of positive messages from people who just love the world we built, or have told us that playing our game made their week better, or that they love the soundtrack. It keeps us going honestly, we set out with lofty goals for our first title, and we sacrificed a lot. It was just the two of us, myself (Carlos) and Hannah, chatting on Discord and putting in thousands of hours and making some tough decisions to get this game out, seeing this effort rewarded each and every milestone is, well, incredibly humbling.
So from us to you, thank you all so much!

SPRAWL - CODEX, QOL Update + 50% Off!
Everyone!
We’ve been hard at work bringing some new content, plus some heavily requested features and bug fixes into the game. Game dev for a team of two is tough, but we love you all and wanted to continue to iterate on the game. We read every piece of feedback and although we can’t get everything in at once, we’ve got some cool things to give you this time around. As always, for free, no DLC here!
The QR code logs are now LIVE and in game. You will now be able to view them from inside SPRAWL and have them saved for you to revisit later. With the same not so subtle stylistic reference you get when you view them with your phone. This has been a colossal effort from Hannah to get all 50 lore docs into the game, so some kudos are in order!
Thank you all again for being a part of this incredible community, all the love, support and kindness keeps us going. We couldn’t have built SPRAWL without you all.

Added “Codex” into the game. Walking over a PDA with a QR code on it will automatically populate the “Codex” menu. 50 pieces of unique collectable lore are now accessible in game.

It’s been an honor to see all the love and support from the community and fans that have cropped up, the conversations around the game, the setting, the story, seeing people love it. I wanted to take the moment to appreciate all of you for being a part of this journey. We’re still working hard bringing new features and content to the game, we read every message and every review. Before I get into the next part, I want to take the time to give my appreciation to the speedrunning community and Games Done Quick, as well as Humble Bundle for allowing us to participate in this year's AGDQ with BloodThunder running SPRAWL, and beating it in 23 minutes! My family has been deeply affected by cancer, taking many people close to us, having the opportunity to give back in some capacity to cancer research has been an incredible experience. Thank you all again.

SPRAWL v1.4 SEVEN DAYS OF SEVENMASS Sale + Update! 50% OFF!
Everyone! We're back with our final content update of the year! This time around we partnered with some friends. That's right, a brand new horde map in collaboration with SEVERED STEEL, with some familiar enemies taken straight from Greylock Studios incredible debut, and if you have a copy of Severed Steel, you might see a familiar shotgun in their weapon roster now. Not only that, but we also partnered up with Hotdogs Horseshoes and Handgrenades to bring you another new horde map titled; INSTITUTION, styled after the Institution Update in H3. You might see some familiar Sosig Shaped Foes™ roaming around…
