Sprint Vector has truly been a passion project for our development team. We challenged ourselves to tackle the omnipresent issues of VR locomotion—and then took it a step further by deciding to make it as fast and frenetic as possible. When we came up with Fluid Locomotion, we knew we had hit upon something really special with a huge amount of potential. That was only reinforced when we unveiled Sprint Vector at GDC 2017 and watched player after player go nuts rocketing through an early prototype of the Pharaoh’s Scrapyard (Arid) course.
A year later, Sprint Vector is landing with 21 colorful maps filled with twists, shortcuts, and power ups, multiplayer online racing with 8 playable characters (and skins!), as well as global leaderboards galore for all you adrenaline junkies :) It’s bigger and better than we ever could have hoped, and the crazy enthusiasm our players have shared through the whole development process has pushed us across the finish line.
Sprint Vector is truly fun because you can play it your way. Speedrunners and overachievers will gravitate toward the Global Leaderboards on competitive mode, where eight-player races across 12 unique courses fuel the need for speed. There’s also private matchmaking and casual modes for a little friendly competition, and you can even fine-tune your skills and test yourself on 9 solo challenge courses, each with three different game modes. However you want to sprint, there’s a vector for that!
To commemorate the launch, all the Sprint Vector racers each arrive with free Championship Intergalactica Winter Games skins so you can show off some international flair. And next Thursday, February 15, we’ll be launching weekly challenges to keep your sprinting form in top shape—as well as give you a shot at winning big in our upcoming Community Cups and earn a spot in Mr. E’s Master League!

It's Official: Sprint Vector Launches February 8!
21 maps, 8-player racing, multiple game modes...Sprint Vector is GO! Sprint Vector officially launches February 8 for HTC Vive and Oculus Rift+Touch on Steam VR and Oculus Home, with the PlayStation VR release slated for February 13.
Here's what's coming in the full release!
Competitive multiplayer matches: Public and private online multiplayer modes pit up to eight players against each other in intense, high-speed races as you vie for a spot on the Global Leaderboards.
12 competitive race tracks: Scale towering pyramids and plunge into alien ruins, leap across bottomless pits while dodging debilitating blobs of sludge, or survive the trap-riddled streets of an ancient city. A dozen complex race courses full of obstacles, alternate paths, and game-changing power-ups make for endless replay value.
Customizable solo play: Run the course at your own pace and learn the ropes with customizable solo game settings.
Nine challenge courses: Take on these diabolical courses designed to test your sprinting prowess to the extreme. Tackle three specific challenges across nine single-player challenge courses with Local and Global Leaderboards.
Eight intergalactic competitors: Choose from eight colorful characters pulled from every corner of the galaxy, from notorious street artist Daxx to ethereal Luna to streetwise hammerhead Hendrix, each with multiple skins to unlock.
Power-ups galore: Utilize a wide range of power-ups, from explosive proximity mines to nitro speed and racer-seeking rockets, to gain an advantage over the competition.

Sprint Vector Closed Beta: Daily Time Challenges!
If you thought the Sprint Vector Closed Beta was just playing, think again: we're giving you plenty of reason to run. Starting Tuesday, January 23, and running through the end of the beta, we'll be hosting daily time challenges to keep you coming back and building up that endurance even on the solo days.
And you'll like what's at stake: each day, two players will score a Steam or Oculus Home game key for the full release of Sprint Vector! That's right: each day, the fastest daily challenge time will win, and we'll also randomly pick one person who submitted a time to the challenge to receive a game.
Here's the complete challenge schedule:
Tuesday, January 23: get the fastest Global Leaderboard time on the Winter Rush race map (Competitive mode with AI and items on) - CONCLUDED!

Every day, submit your fastest time for the designated daily challenge--submission links appear above, as well as on the Skate Park community board and in Discord--and we'll notify each day's winner via email! Submissions must be received by 11:59pm PT the day of the challenge to qualify.

Sprint Vector Closed Beta Launches January 19--Last Call for Signups!
Greetings Vectorheads! The time has finally come, the moment you have waited for with bated breath, and we shall not keep you sweating with anticipation any longer. ːsteamhappyː Mr. Entertainment has declared that the Sprint Vector closed beta for Vive and Oculus will take place Friday, January 19, to Sunday, January 28!
On weekends, we’ll be switching on our multiplayer servers from 5pm-8pm PST for US players and 17:00-20:00 GMT for EU players. (Outside of these hours, you’ll have single-player access to the Sprint Vector beta build for all three days--plenty of time to practice!)
