There’s been quite a few big updates to the Starbase Alpha during the past month. There have been changes made and new features added that change gameplay, especially when it comes to building ships and mining.

Design for thruster device field automatic naming to match Main Flight Computer in Spaceship Designer was finished
Virtual mass for ore crates in Spaceship Designer has been worked on; allows testing how cargo mass would affect spaceship durability and behavior

A fix was made for Player velocity to not start immediately decaying after unseating (with mag boots turned off)
Sound manager anomalies, related to frequently changing sound sources being handled as a combination, have been reduced
Frame integrity now detects chains of poorly connected frame beams, further reducing for example the exploitability of replacing long beams with several short ones
A fix was made for angular forces being produced on other objects by thruster exhausts
Pushing things with exhausts has been made less stable
User Interface
A fix was made for item shop not having savior for preview
A fix was made for item sell panel not updating icon
A frame for test flight mode tooltip was made and tested in a few places that could be used to open or close it
The implementation of dialog for test flight tooltips has been started

Bullet impact sound system has been worked on
Spaceship/Station Designer
Station part count limit added to Mega Station Designer
Station build area limit added to Mega Station Designer
Rotating multiple objects in local space now chooses the local space of the latest chosen component

New rifle fire animations have been made (3rd person)

Floating holograms have been removed around Work Hub

Updated Mining Saw effects by reducing them in size to make them less prominent and dominating over the action
Updated Pickaxe Hit VFX to be quicker and the sparks more random
Updated the Mounted Laser Hit VFX to be more stronger and intense at the point of impact

A new version of the audio signal device has been made

This video shows the battle between The Simulations and Venus Squadron. This battle includes a huge battleship with a large crew not just manning turrets and using rocket launchers, but also repairing the ship while the battle is ongoing.

Empire and Kingdom outpost grid slots have been updated due to legacy asset removals
Refuel grid slot has been made; LODs are in progress
Spaceships / Spaceship Designer
Overlapping levers have been fixed in premade ships: Serf, Ocelot, Urchin, Nautilus Cargo, Ocelot, Romulus, Mason, Hedron and Kodiak
Outdated YOLOL chip slot boxes have been replaced in premade ships: Nautilus Cargo, Pioneer, Ocelot, Ithaca I, Ithaca IV, Romulus, Serf, Mason, Hedron, Peon and Kodiak
Spaceship Urchin: Frame bolting/welding in the ship has been updated as recent change from bolted frame to welded had caused movable chair not being able to move anymore as the moving structure was also welded to the main frame (chair can be moved again)

Issue where cabling/piping didn't start from the aim sphere when the sphere had snapped into socket has been fixed, cabling/piping devices with deep sockets should now be easier

Issue where fragmented objects produce overlaps where intact objects do not, has been fixed
Unconnected FCUs affecting torque deadzones has been fixed
The temporary implementation of Ore Cargo Crate masses not correctly applying material densities has been fixed
Detecting thrusters as functional for FCUs when missing required attachments (such as box thruster internals) has been fixed

Design for being able to adjust auto-generated LOD detail in Spaceship Designer has been worked on
First version of the Demolition Job has been finalized
Repair Job design has been updated
Ore Collector has been tested and reconfigured, it can now be found from shops and the Spaceship Designer

Radiation and scanner design continues
Iteration on factory devices is underway:

Windows frame 192x36x24 is now in "Windows Frame" folder, the default color has been changed to match with other plates
Crafting data has been fixed for Curved window Frame 120x120x24 cm, Window Frame 96x36x24 cm, Window Frame 144x36x24 cm and Window Frame 192x36x24 cm; these plates are no longer considered as windows
Socket tool cable/pipe now counts towards Cable limit in Spaceship Designer
Spaceships:
Ithaca IV: overlap issue in the beam structure has been fixed

Automatic scrap deletion inside safe zones has been enabled
Durability now considers unbolted parts to belong in a structure (especially in Spaceship Designer editing) if they are connected in-game via two bolt-less connection technologies
Mass center calculations of single-entity structures of reasonable size have been fixed
Cargo mass locations experiencing semi-random lag, causing especially faster carrier ships to behave oddly, has been fixed
Bolting now supports thinner object combinations than before
Blueprint projector basic functionality is done
Issues with weapons with single-shot magazine not reloading successfully after the first shot have been fixed
