Small patch to address a few bugs and add the first Artifact weapon.
NEW STUFF
Added the first Artifact weapon: Rock's Pike. Thanks Quiggsy!
Rock's Pike is a Heavy Melee Weapon that deals Piercing, Slashing, and Crushing damage and features a unique ability to be thrown, dealing damage enroute and when returning from the target.
Artifact weapons have a global (and extremely rare) drop chance. Happy hunting!
Fixes
Fixed an issue with Fusion Forge being used on Shields removing vital Shield stats.
StarCrawlers Chimera updated to v1.3 (ChimeraLinq Update)
ChimeraLinq is back online! With a saucy new user interface and controller support, you can finally indulge yourself with some pointless social media drama (to get free stuff)!
Changes:
The ChimeraLinq tutorial will only show the first time you encounter ChimeraLinq, not for each new character.
Some items modified by Rogue Modders were being banned from the stash, some were not. To fix this inconsistency, all items modified by Rogue Modders are now banned from the stash. Cue rageposts in 3… 2… 1…
Manually saving your game now resets the Autosave timer, if it is enabled.
When using a controller, active effects can be inspected by opening the Character or Inventory menus.
Fixes:
Fixed an issue with the Omniflux Loot Magnet failing to clear up its particle effects.
Fixed an issue with UI elements not retaining their positions after loading a game with UI scaling set to a value below 1.
Fixed the assigned Escape key not bringing up the System Menu.
StarCrawlers Chimera updated to v1.2 (Controller Update)
With today's patch, the Controller Update is officially live with full support for a variety of PC controllers and special optimizations for Steamdeck. Here's what's inside:
Changes:
Players can now manually override the base quality of the game in the Options Menu. If you are having performance issues, consider lowering the quality setting.
Controller users, please note you can choose to ignore using a controller when prompted on the title screen or revert to mouse and keyboard at any time using Options Menu > Controller > Remove.
The tutorial now covers the basics of using a controller to play the game.
Edit Mode for controllers in the Skill Menu is now complete.
In-game tooltips and prompts now display gamepad glyphs. Please note, these may not match your specific controller’s glyphs.
Every action in the game can be assigned to any recognized controller input.
Increased the size of the tooltip and controller prompts by 20%.
Ability Changes:
Void Blast’s perk Gloomburst now casts Shadowcoil on up to 3 targets on a deathblow.
Steamdeck:
The game will launch at Steamdeck’s native resolution and UI scaling is enabled at 1.2.
Additional optimizations will automatically activate to improve the Steamdeck experience.
Text entry now uses the Steamdeck virtual keyboard.
Fixes:
Fixed an issue where attempting to loot & equip a Heavy weapon while both hands and inventory were full resulted in your main hand weapon being sent into space - thanks Goldy!
Cheers, - Thunderflux
Tiny patch to v1.1.7
Mini patch to address some bugs and make some changes.
Fixes:
Beat Rush, Reckless Charge, and other ability that combine attack and movement have additional checks in to prevent softlocks if the target is dead / moved unexpectedly / teleported / fall through a wormhole in spacetime.
Running on SteamDeck is now officially recognized by the game and makes several under-the-hood changes to optimize for SteamDeck. This feature will have additional changes before Controller Update 1.2.
Changes:
Players will now be prompted to use / not use a controller when a connection is detected. If you decline to use your controller and later change your mind, the detection can be made again in the Options Menu at any time.
Controller Update Pre Patch to v1.1.4 is live!
A pre patch that takes the game to v1.1.4 is now live. For controller users, you'll notice a few major differences, for keyboard and mouse users, you shouldn't notice much!
Fixes:
Fixed quest items sometimes spawning inside of blocked spaces. Loading a save with an item on a blocked node will safely move it to an open space nearby.
Fixed a temporary issue with being unable to use movement keys while the character and inventory menus are open.
Fixed a temporary issue with certain events that have a built-in escape function not responding to the escape key.
Changes:
Controller mode is now enabled, but is incomplete until Controller Update 1.2.
Most users should be able to attach their controller at the title screen, select Options -> Controller and configure their controller to their liking. Most controllers should be supported out of the box, provided you set your inputs on the title screen.
To customize your action bars when using a controller, open the Skill Menu and select the new wrench icon in the bottom right corner to enter Edit Mode. This will allow you to add and remove skills and items from your inventory and arrange your bars. This mode is still under development.
To select and use abilities in combat, use the D-Pad (or equivalent) controls to select an ability on the action bar and A button (or equivalent) to activate.
The Tutorial is NOT complete for controller users and will still display mouse and keyboard instructions, this will be addressed in the Controller Update 1.2 patch.
The in-game Feedback tool requires a keyboard for text entry.
I’d love to hear your feedback on what works and doesn’t work for you when using a controller!
Cheers, Thunderflux

Major Breach rooms in the Bio Labs are now marked on the map.
Corpses have been added to the end game in areas where you’re going to want corpses.

Fixes:
UPDATED Fixed vendorbots rebelling and provoking you to attack them.
Fixed an issue preventing Gadgeteer’s Upcycle from triggering when disarming a trap. Thanks Oskar!
Fixed an issue with Big Guns Old Faithful displaying incorrect tooltip information.
Fixed Heavy Weapons’s Expert (Rifle) Rake ability being on continuous cooldown and clarified tooltip to show the cooldown is based on the number of targets attacked. Thanks Oskar!
Fixed a bug preventing Barbarian’s Execute from going on cooldown. While entertaining, also insane. Thanks Oskar!
Fixed an issue with Bullet Farmer’s Gathering Storm passive stating it provided Strength (it actually provides Ranged Power) and the perk activating with no perk point applied. Thanks Oskar!
Fixed an issue with the Plants vs Mutts event in the Bio Labs preventing the player from leaving if they failed the event and mutagenic energy was below 10. Restarting the event will now restore mutagenic energy to 10. Thanks Kosiarz!
Thanks Oskar!!!
Changes:
In the Keybindings menu, mod keys can now be set for action bars 2 & 3 (default to Left Ctrl and Left Alt), if a mod key is not defined for actions bars 2 & 3, their keybinds must be unique. Thanks all who suggested this!
A new keybind has been added to optionally toggle Freelook on and off. Thanks Teyar!
When creating a new character, the name entry field will wait until you use the Begin button to check for a naming conflict warn of a save overite. Thanks ArialAria!
Work continues on the Controller Update - thanks everyone who has provided input on the survey. Oh, you haven't done the survey? Now's your chance!
Already the basics of the interface and gameplay are functional, but I want support for specific devices while still allowing players to customize their set ups. You can help with this :

StarCrawlers Chimera v1.0 is live!
What’s new in v1.0? Quite a few things. Primarily:
The final floors of the Chimera building are unlocked.
You can now level to 30+ to fully unlock all trees in most build combinations.
New enemies, weapons, gear, quest rewards, and boss loot across all floors.
New sassy UI polish and improved menu functionality.
Achievements are live.
Dr. Cerberus is waiting for you. Good luck.
Where’s my controller support? It’s on the way! As noted in the Steam forums, it’s an involved process to add controller support to a complex interface that was primarily built around mouse and keyboard input. Adding properly integrated controller support is my top priority for the first systems update.
Will Steamdeck get an official integration? Yes. This is a two step process that starts alongside adding controller support and ends with Valve reviewing the Steamdeck status of the game. Currently the game has “Playable” status, which is quaint, but I want a nice clean “Verified” status, meaning the game works natively with the Steamdeck controls. This is my 2nd top systems priority after controller support.
When is the game coming to Linux and OSX? Now that the PC launch is out and the game is (mostly) stable, I have time to look into the Linux and OSX deployments. I’ll provide updates on these when I have information to share!
Where’s ChimeraLinq? The ambient ChimeraLinq system and ChimeraLinq holoslates can be found on all maps. The (optional) interactive element of ChimeraLinq was very thin on content, so I made the decision to temporarily disable it. I know some of you love you internet drama, and I want to do it justice, so ChimeraLinq will make a triumphant return with a new look and more shade-throwing in the first content update.
