Stardrift Nomads is turning 1!

Hey everyone! Today's a special day as Stardrift Nomads is turning 1! Its been a full year of pilots blasting asteroids, pirates and, keeping their colony safe!

Stardrift Nomads has evolved over the year as well with new bosses, events, game modes and more. We've even gone beyond space and arrived at PAX Australia to meet some of our pilots in person! Special Thanks to all those pilots that came by too!

With that said we wanted to make Stardrifts Nomads Birthday even better with a 75% sale! Grab your friends because birthday or not, the pirates are coming to steal out colony!

Stardrift Nomads Patch 1.3.0

Here is the Patch Notes for 1.3.0. This patch is now LIVE

This patch is mainly adjusting the difficulty of the game base off of player feed back as well as a few tweaks to the back end parts of the game.

Gameplay

-Towers have been reduced in price across the board.
-Towers are also cheeper to upgrade/repair too! Get building those towers now!
-Equipment upgrades have been reduced. Players can now upgrade their gear much quicker.
-[Mechanic] Mega Tower Skill has had its cooldown reduce greatly.
-[Scavanger] Mega Laser Skill deals slightly less damage but has a greater turn speed.

Campaign

-The first half of the campaign will now have slightly less enemies.
-The difficulty curve for the game should be more gradual as you progress within the campaign.

Misc

-General minor bug fixes
-Tweaks to the networking systems

Stardrift Nomads Patch 1.2 and PAX AUS

Hey everyone! Today we updated the game with some new features and our designer Ryan is on his way to PAX AUS to run a booth. He will be handing out some PAX exclusive skin codes for all 3 ships, so make sure to stop by the booth and pick up a code!

Version 1.2 Patch Notes

Added Mutators!
There is a new menu for survival and stockpile game modes with options to change the game and how much XP you get along with it.

New Asteroids!
Watch out for metalic asteroids!

New Random Events!
We added 3 new random events that can happen while you play. Watch out for abandoned colonys drifting by that you can search for survivors or scrap!

Stardrift Nomads is going to PAX Australia!

Hey everyone!

We are excited to annouce that Stardrift Nomads will be at PAX Australia! We'll be demo-ing Stardrift Nomads to everyone that wants to see and try it for themselves. We'll also be giving out handouts that will contain a code for a brand new ship skin! We only have a limited supply of these so make sure you get your skin before they run out!!! Be sure to check us out if you're going and come greet the team!

Stardrift Nomads Patch 1.1.1

Here is the patch notes for 1.1.1 This patch is now LIVE!

This small patch mainly fixes up some bugs from the content update.

Graphics:

-Fix the Behemoths animations as he takes more damage
-New particles for the Scout Mini Boss
-Tweak particles for the Pirate Carrier.
-Lightning texture fixed.

Misc:

-New loot crate will now appear on the end screen
-Asteroids should run a lot smoother in multiplayer

Stardrift Nomads Patch 1.1.0 Content Update!

Here is the patch notes for 1.1.0 This patch is now LIVE!

This patch introduces a ton of new content for the game!

New Mode: Stockpile!

-Players will defend against an endless assault of pirates and asteroids while the colony builds pylons. Players will need to build up enough energy to escape the pirates before they are overrun!
-Stockpile mode will adjust difficulty depending on the party size!
-Pirates will build their own towers on any destroyed pylon they find to keep the player out!
-The amount of pylons the colony produces depends on the amount of players!
-Wave timers are no more in this mode! Pirates and asteroids will come at you non stop so gather that energy fast before they overwhelm you!

New Enemies: Mini Bosses

- Every type of ship will now have a chance to spawn a mini boss version of itself.
- Mini bosses will be equip with different abilities from a barrage of homing missile, reflective shields or, teleporting!
- Mini bosses will have unique looking ships that are much bigger then the average ship!

New Boss: The Behemoth

- The Behemoth is a massive ship that will slowly fly towards the colony and will slam into it if not destroyed in time!
- The Behemoth comes in 5 stages! After he loses a certain percent of his health, he'll drop some of his armor to gain a new ability and more speed!

Gameplay

- Mechanic's Reach skill will no longer leave targets permanently stun
- Time Warp cooldown slightly increased
- EXP rewards for certain enemy kills have been rebalanced

Campaign:

- Text messages will now pop up at the end of the wave so players aren't fighting and reading at the same time [Community Request]
- Starting levels will now have slightly less enemies spawning in.

Graphics:

- A new skin crate has been added into the mix!
- New crate will contain 13 new skins!

Misc:

- Clamp will no longer throw enemies on the Z axis if the player is turning.
- Fix some loading issues for Linux players (Black Screen Bug)
- Enemies exploding sound has been ramp up to hearing levels!
- Projectiles are now calculated on the client side for Multiplayer [Community Request]
- UI added to show the tower button [Community Request]

Update incoming!

Hello everyone,

We are currently working on an update which will be released very soon, so we wanted to take a minute and share some of the things that we've been working on since release.

The update will focus on adding variability to our wave system and adding new modes of play.



Each pirate type will now include a miniboss tier for increased destructive power. Each miniboss is essentially a more deadly version of the base class with increased health, more damaging weapons, improved AI, and even special abilities that will allow them to wreak havoc upon your base.




We are also adding a new game mode which focuses on capturing points outside the base and building holding them to produce energy for the colony.



Every pylon you hold increases your energy production and hastens your victory over the pirates, but they will be fighting hard to take the pylons from you so be ready!

For anyone who is collecting skins or selling them on the marketplace we will be releasing a new crate with thirteen new paintjobs for you to find!



And finally we are pleased to introduce you to the Behemoth, the newest addition to our cast of deadly bosses.



Better build those walls thick, because this thing will be hard to stop!

Stardrift Nomads is now on Linux!

Good news to all those Linux fans! We are now LIVE with the Linux version of the game! With the last bugs finally sqaushed, we are able to push out a new build this morning supporting Linux!

Special thanks to all the fans that pitch in with the testing as well!

Stardrift Nomads Price Drop

Hey Everyone,

After watching reviews and listening to the community, we are making the decision to lower the price of the game to $9.99

After working on the game for years, we all felt that there was tons of content in the game and priced it at what we felt that we would pay for it, but we are biased, and we lost view of the current market on price for content.

After doing a lot of research on current indie game steam prices we decided to price the game at $9.99 We all feel this more accurately represents the amount of content in the game and variation in gameplay. We have free updates planned to add more game modes in the future, but we want our price to reflect what is currently in the game.

I hope this price will allow more people to enjoy the game. We are always watching the discussion boards and reviews and love to hear everyone's thoughts!
