Updates
We are already working hard on the next updates. Fixes are top priority first. We already fixed a bug affecting some users.
We will continue to develop the game into something special.
As mentioned in the bugfix notes we want to introduce automatic crash reports using Unity's cloud systems.
Already working on adding more things to the world, we realize it feels a bit empty. This will be sandstone ore that appears in the beach are (which brings glass recipe and production). And more will be added to the world. Then further, as mentioned before the main update currently is hazards and the forests which are moving forward as well.

Hotfix
Fix for the saving issue affecting some users.
We plan on adding something like Unity Crash diagnostics to make crash reports easier (This will have the option to opt out too, don't worry)
This will allow it to automatically report to us and we won't have to annoy players by asking them each little details.

Early Access Release!
Welcome to the Starseed Early Access!
We are proud to be here and hope you will love and enjoy Starseed. There is still lots to do so we hope you will believe in us and give valuable feedback to help improve.
As mentioned the freeplay element will be the main focus, however there is some story to get you into the atmosphere.

Update! Release Date!
The Early Access release date is 24 March 2025!
It has taken a long time to get here, but we keep pushing forward. Since it is Early Access there is still a lot to come, a lot to fix, a lot of feedback to listen to! We will mostly be using Steam Forums and email for communication.
Right now there are a good amount of missions, upgrades and features in the game. However a current issue is that there is a lack of lore/story connection, we hope those who decide to jump in still find enjoyment and wonder in completing missions and exploring, but this means it will feel very lacking in weight - we promise to work on that. And we hope you will have good feedback for us to improve!

Early Access Roadmap This is subject to change, but the first post release content we will be working on is the forests and hazards, and bug fixes of course (Forests will be unique areas, similar to the mines) (Hazards will be things that can harm you like poison gas, intense heat, etc).

Update (Stats And Upgrades)
Another update say things are coming along great. Working on the stats and upgrades and allowing for future expansion (this makes it slightly harder to plan as we don't want saves becoming corrupted every time these are changed). There will definitely be more development of this during the EA. These were not functional in the demo but left there so you get an idea of what's to come. Now they are almost all functioning well and polished.

Update! (August 2024)
Just a simple update so you know the game is progressing. We are moving closer to a good stable state with a healthy amount of content for EA release!
Lots of new and polished things, but I'm just going to focus on a few here.
First here is a showing of the main section again, much improved and polished for a much better atmosphere: wind, footstep sounds, particles, efficient grass, etc

This is the overview of active seeds, you will be able to upgrade to increase max limit:
This will be the idle seeds: Seeds can be placed into an idle state. Then depending on the goals achieved and resources produced with them, they will then keep producing resources. Better, smarter and harder you work on them and cultivate them, the more resources they produce. Balancing this is going to be one of the hardest tasks! lol). You cannot access them again once put into this state. Only delete, replace or put on pause. There will be stats to upgrade affecting them, maybe even modifiers later on. (It's still work in progress so forgive the incomplete and filler info and ugliness):

This shows your lab and galaxy scanner (names not final!). These are like idle missions of an expanding scanner system where you can use drones/bots to clear the way and discover more and also mine resources:
A lot more has changed and been improved, but that's all I want to show for now. There is a healthy amount of systems and mechanics now. I am polishing and building them up more everyday. It's basically the end of a phase of adding the new features for Early Access release and that's definitely a milestone. The other new features will be saved for after EA and will be shown later on a roadmap. (Things like weather control, time machine, more kinds of drones or drone advancements, etc)

Update!
As you may have noticed the release period has been changed from 2023 to "To Be Announced". Due to some personal developments, it was decided that it would not be best to keep the current release schedule and delay it for now.
We know that this may be disappointing to many, but us not being able to fully dedicate our efforts to the production during the Early Access phase would have been a disaster. So we made the decision to delay a bit more. We're not sure how long but you can be assured work is being done Starseed continuously (although currently at a slower pace).
Thank you for your understanding and hope that soothed some fears that the game faded away or was cancelled. Unfortunately you will have to wait a bit longer.
