Hello Everyone,

Just wanted to give a quick state of the game update and inform about the latest updates to State of Extinction. We have been on a hiatus after the last patch as we felt it brought much needed stability to the quest structure, AI logic and inventory management.

Finally, we are getting back on the grind to add the last quests, NPCs, etc which will move us from the, "Early Access" label to "Full Release"!

However, as you know game development is an ongoing process, so we will be bringing out patches to get to the final state. Thanks for your patience as we continue to build you a solid game.

Hello Everyone,

We just wanted to give a quick, "State of The Game" message to communicate what's currently cooking with State of Extinction.

First, the team took a quick hiatus from enhancements and development in January to catch up on some non-development items. However, during this time we did take the opportunity to discuss what we need to work on next as we move to upcoming content, implementation on new platforms (Linux and Mac) and localization.

Expect more updates soon where we will be dropping new content as well as squashing any bugs along the way. Thanks again for your interest and support in the game!

State of the Game

Ancient men and women of Old! First, we would like to wish you all a happy and safe New Year! We had planned to drop a patch (v167) today, but decided that we want to squeeze in a few more updates so the next patch will be released on Monday Jan 2, 2017.

We are excited as the next patch will include more streamlined dialogue. Meaning, we significantly reduced a lot of the conversation you will be having with NPCs so it's more direct and to the point. In addition, we have more updates coming to quests, enemy NPC AI, and sound effects to name a few in the v167 patch.

-Increased Aggression on some NPCs
-Improved logic on some NPCs
-Increase Drop Percentage for Meat
-Removed Ability For Player to Rotate Camera. Fixed The Camera For Smoother Game Play
-Removed Tutorial and Tip Text Regarding Ability to Rotate Camera
-Increased Camera Zoom Out View Distance to 100m
-Smoothed Out Camera Zoom Speed
-Removed Voice Audio when Initial Interaction with Friendly NPCs
-Graphics Enhancements on Rocks and other static objects
-Added Flax (Herb) drop for some NPCs to allow some instant, "Hunger" relief

-Updated Calling Menu by unlocking, "Make" button. The, "Make" sub menu is always now available instead of only at a Fire
-Enabled "Player State" Mechanics to required Eating to restore Hunger or Find Herbs for Sickness
-Added Trader NPC who trades services/goods for Berries
-Updated Some Quest Descriptions to outline what Activity should be performed for quest
-Fixed lighting on some NPCs
-Enhanced "Make" items of Cooked Meat and Berries (FOOD) and Stag Furs (HIDES)

Hello Ancient Men (and Women) of Old and Renown! State of Extinction (SoE) has been receiving a lot of growth and interest in it's, "Early Access" infancy. We want to say, Thank you for being part of the early sun rise of SoE, as it makes its way up over the horizon.

We plan to release another patch in the next few days that will fix a lot of game play issues providing a more solid,"Early Access" game play experience.

Please remember that SoE is still in an, "Early Access" game build state and there are bugs, broken items, etc. that maybe found. Being a small (very small) indie studio making a, "first of it's kind" prehistoric I-RPG based game requires feedback from you, the tribe members.

We want to hear from you, so please feel free to post in the Discussion forum or email us at the SoE Website on any game play elements, changes, etc. you think should be improved, removed or even added to the game as we continue to enhance your experience!
