We are proud to deliver this version, which represents the vision we had for the game since the beginning.

It's not over, though. We hope to continue the work on Steredenn. :)

So, what should you expect in this 1.0.0?

  • Translations. Yes! Eleven languages.
  • New contents. So many new waves.
  • Support for achievements.
  • Polish, as always.

Your savegame will be deleted. Sorry about that. Everyone starts fresh! ;)

Bug fixes/technical stuffs



  • Fix a bug in the daily run where you could get the same weapon twice.
  • Fix another bug in the daily run where you would start with the Blaster even if the Daily said otherwise.
  • Fix a bug with the mazes (infinite loops). It never happened in the game, but we fixed it nonetheless.
  • Steam should work in offline mode, albeit with a little less options (no daily run nor scores).
  • And tons of other small fixes. ;)

Balance



  • Rework a bit the weapon drops.

Steredenn 0.25.0: Dashboard Operational

Hello,

Small update today. We took some time to work on the translations of the game and we added keyboard re-mapping, as well as an improved UI for input controls.



This release is shaping the game for the official release. And we might have fixed the few remaining nasty bugs. :)

Features



  • Keyboard re-mapping. Yep. Open "Settings", then "Mappings" and here you go.
  • Improve the controls display in the UI: the icons represent your current input method. With support for PS4 controllers.
  • New ending.
  • Improve the tutorial with texts skipping and two new explanations.
  • Add the "Credits" panel.
  • Slightly improved the Arena UI.
  • New teleport effect for enemy ships. Not really visible in the current version. ;)
  • The "Shield" upgrade has been improved visually.
  • Continue the work on the game translation (many additional languages will be available on release day).

Bug fixes/technical stuffs



  • Small optimizations.
  • We think that we have (once again) found the origin of the freezes between waves. We hope that this time, it will be the last time. Tell us!
  • Correct a bug with the sliders in the Settings.
  • The music is correctly stopped when you quit a game or the Arena.
  • The loops won't use the same wave twice.
  • For people with input lags problem, launch the game with the special flag "-noxinput" and tell us if it improves the game.

Balance



  • The Saw is available earlier.
  • The Jaw deals more damages.
  • The Reflector lasts 0.1s more.
  • The Reflector starts in the player's direction.
  • Tweaked the upgrades drop chances.
  • Slightly reworded the events probabilities.
  • The Laser Rain gives +100% bonus score instead of 50%.
  • The "Shield" upgrade works with "Reflect damages when hit" and is not broken when hit by a junk piece.
  • You need to see the bosses a bit less to unlock them in the Arena. For the Mothership, only two encounters will be necessary, for example.

Steredenn: release on October, 1st

Hello everyone,

Big new today: Steredenn is going to be officially released on October 1st!

It will be out of Early Access at the price of $12.99 with a -15% sale during the first week to celebrate. As a quick reminder, the game will remain at $8.99 until October 1st. Don't hesitate to get it now or offer it to your friends while it's still low. ;)

We have finally reached the goals we wanted to achieve with the game. We are proud of what we have done during the Early Access and by the support you gave us. We even did many things we didn’t plan at all, like original new weapons, upgrades and other stuffs, thanks to you.

We are a very small team (only 2 people full-time). It’s time to consider that the game is complete. We don’t want to fall into the trap of a never-ending development. Our aim with Steredenn was to do an Early Access the right way: gather feedbacks, include original ideas, fix bugs. We hope that we didn’t let you down on this point.

And it’s not over! :)

There is already a new update in the pipeline for next week (with keyboard remapping), and some exciting new additions for the official release (surprise!).

We will continue to support the game, fix bugs and add new contents in the coming months. However, we’d rather be honest with you: we need your help. We need you to spread the word, talk about the game and share the love.

Steredenn 0.24.0: Super Sonic Shockwave

Hi,

We have a small update this week for the few things we couldn't include in the 0.23.0.

We have fixed many bugs, improved the music, added some waves and a brand new upgrade. We also added some side-effects to a few upgrades to make them mix well all together. And as always, we made some tweaks to the balance.




Features



  • New upgrade: the Minishield. An additional shield that can absorb one hit (collision or bullet). It regenerates itself when you are not firing. Be careful: the hitbox of the minishield is way bigger than the one of the ship. ;)
  • Waves: 5 new.
  • Improve the music and transitions.
  • The tutorial is really skippable (you could skip it in the 0.23.0, but the game would launch it again at the beginning of the game if you didn't watch it completely).
  • Reworked some upgrades text, again.
  • Bring back the percentages in the upgrades.

Bug fixes/technical stuffs



  • Unlock the Destroyer MK-II after beating it.
  • Bots should no longer make sound during the pause.
  • Bots and Homing Missiles should target the Destroyer MK-II correctly.
  • Cargos are invincible if out of screen. You should no longer see flying capsules coming from the right.
  • Correct some trajectories of the suicide bullets in the loops.
  • Fix a bug of the Spiraler which would not fire sometimes.
  • Fix a bug of the Chainsaw during the pause.

Balance



  • Reduce the maximum duration of a wave to 1:30.
  • Minirockets are always firing (if an enemy is visible).
  • Bots are semi-automatic.
  • The "Semi-automatic weapons are automatic" is also working on Bots.
  • The "Collisions deal less damages" is applied to Bots. Collision-resistant-shockwave-bots? Sure.
  • Reduce the collision damages of the player's ship a bit.
  • In the 2nd (or more) loops, the fighters will always throw one suicide bullet before the player's ship.

Steredenn 0.23.0: The Bug Hunt

Hello!

It's been some time since the last update. With the holidays and clients work, we had a bit less time for Steredenn. But fear not, this update is, as always, huge. :)



There's a few big things:

  • TONS of bug fixes and polish. This is the main aspect of this update. We have also reworked and added some upgrades. And, hopefully, we have balanced the weapons. Thanks to you!
  • A tutorial. Okay, we know that you guys have already digged in the game a lot, so this might not serve you. But with this, you will be able to show Steredenn to your friends and let them experience the game in a brand new way.
  • A new boss. The Destroyer MK-II. Harder than the first. ;)

Okay, right, let's read the changelog.

Features



  • New mode: tutorial! The first time you open the game, it will launch automatically. Then, it will be available in the normal mode by pressing "X" (pad) or "C" (keyboard).
  • New boss: the Destroyer MK-II.
  • New system: if an enemy is approaching you from the back, the game will tell you with a gentle warning.
  • New upgrade: Better shield.
  • New upgrade: Semi-automatic weapons are fully automatic.
  • New upgrade: One more chance to achieve a wave. It allows you to let one enemy goes away or to be hit once before loosing the wave objective.
  • Upgrade redesign: Improve collisions damages has been changed to Unleashed a shockwave on collisions. Way more fun.
  • Upgrade redesign: Lasers invulnerability has been changed to Absorb lasers temporarily.
  • Upgrade redesign: Collisions invulnerability has been changed to Collisions deal less damages.
  • Suicide bullets: new color code and better mechanic.
  • Waves: 30 new.
  • Revamped the shield mechanic of the bosses in the loops.
  • Revamped — once again — the music system. Smoother and prettier.
  • We have also added new sounds.
  • Tweak the gamepad and keyboard. They should be more precise in low-speed areas.
  • Nice fade-out between screens and reorganized main menu.
  • And tons of additional polish.

Bug fixes/technical stuffs



  • Waves: the infinite waves should be no more. Please tell us if this happens again.
  • Waves: the freeze between waves is finally eradicated. At least, we hope so.
  • Waves: the objective is only given if you achieve it, as it should normally be.
  • Chainsaw: fix the behavior when they stack.
  • Daily Run: it's no longer possible to force quit to restart a new run.
  • Daily Run: unlock weapons and bosses.
  • Daily Run: fix the multiple lines stacked onto each other.
  • Arena: the Mothership should show a background.
  • Scores: fix the bug with the "Focus On Me" button in the leaderboards.
  • Upgrades: always 5 upgrades, no less.
  • Prepare the game localization. Handle accents and other special characters. It should also improve the nicknames display in the leaderboards.
  • And tons of bugs squashed, smashed and destroyed.

Balance



  • Rework the Carrier boss a bit.
  • The Chainsaw have lost 1 HP.
  • Balance all the bots and the bot upgrade. This should be better and fairer now.
  • Less powerful jaw.
  • More powerful sword.
  • More powerful shotgun.
  • More powerful supergun.
  • More powerful hyperblaster.
  • More powerful driller. Change its type.
  • Tweaked demuxer.
  • If a Daily Run has no cargo, the game will remove some upgrades from the pool.

Steredenn 0.22.0: Bullets Awakening

Hey,

What was supposed to be a simple and quick update is in fact a major one for the game. This new version enhances Steredenn so much — and adds a lot of new content as usual. We hope you will like it.



The main features are:

  • Balancing!

    We entirely reworked the damage system. Before this update, when a bullet hit an enemy, it triggered a small invincibility timer. If another bullet hit the same enemy at the same time, it was ignored. No more. Combine your weapons and smash your opponents like never before. ;)

    We have added a whole new depth to our damage system too. Some weapons are now better against small ships, others are effective against bigger enemies, etc. You can still destroy everything with any weapon but some combinations are going to lead to faster destructions.

    Those two points mean we had to completely re-balance the game and the weapons. You will be surprised! It should be smoother and more pleasant. Tell us what you think. :]

  • A new mode, the Daily Run! Everyday, try to be the best in a dedicated leaderboard. You got only one chance. Some days your weapons will be set by the game and there's even a slight chance that a run will have no cargo at all.
  • Loops are now harder and better: it's not as simple as a restart anymore. Fear the suicide bullets.
  • Linux build! We can assert that the game is running on a Kubuntu 64 bits but we need your feedback to make sure the game is running on your system. Please report any issue on the forum: http://steamcommunity.com/app/347160/discussions/0/620713633861901691/.
  • Two new defensive weapons, as suggested on the forums: the Shieldbots and the Reflector.
  • Two new bosses: the Bomber MK-4 and the Frigate MK-3.


Finally, thanks to some members of the community and Gamepedia, Steredenn has now a Wiki! This will be the perfect place to get information about a weapon, an upgrade, or just discover about anything in the game. This is a community-made wiki: we will provide answers and information, but it's up to you to contribute and improve the content. ;)

  • No more nasty freezes between waves. If you are still encountering this problem (but you shouldn't), tell us on the forums.
  • More efficient Flamebots.
  • Fix a bug with the shields.
  • Fix a bug of the Baygun and the Charger.
  • Chainsaw enemies no longer stack.
  • The Mothership should gives its score correctly.

Balance



  • All the weapons and enemies have been rebalanced. Slightly for the enemies… a lot for the weapons. Each weapon has a type (light, medium, heavy, fusion) and each enemy has an armor (small, medium, big, boss, building, blocker). If you combine the correct weapon against an enemy, you can unleash a devastating attack… Observe the game and try to learn how to maximize your damages. :)
  • Upgraded some enemies' pattern for the loops. We still have some work to do on the bosses.
  • Enemies and bosses are faster, more resistant and give more points during the loops.
  • An event is only active during its effect, not for the whole level.
  • Reworded some upgrades.
  • The "+1 Health Point" is now "+2 Health Points".
  • The "Drop Superior Weapons" upgrade has been removed.
  • The "Category - +50% Drop Rate and +10% damages" is now "Category - +50% Drop Rate and +15% damages".
  • The "Category - +50% Drop Rate and +15% damages" reset all the drop of its type. If you have picked an Hyperblaster before and you pick this upgrade for the "Bullets" category, you will have one more chance to drop it again.
  • Specific upgrades have more chance to drop when you hold a weapon of their type.
  • The Heavy Battleship shouldn't be invincible in the loops anymore. ;p
  • Bots search for new enemies a bit faster.
  • Bots target the bombtrap.
  • Bonus have an increased time to live.

Steredenn 0.21.0: fear of a Mothership

Hello everyone,

New update today! There are three main things in this update:

  • The Mothership — the final big (dare I say huge?) boss. It's not fully done — the pacing is a bit too slow and we need to add a few patterns along with sounds — but it's a good start.

    By adding the Mothership, we have completed the first loop of the game. We will focus on the loops for the next updates. Of course, as soon as you beat the Mothership, it will be available in the Arena. It won't be easy, though.

    We have added the last music of Zander Noriega for when your are facing this deadly beast. Good luck captain.

  • A new mode, unlocked by defeating the Mothership. This mode is the "Superplay", which allows you to select a variant of the game (with a number). Each time you play this variant, you get the same waves, weapons and upgrades. It's perfect for speedruns or high-level trainings.

  • Tons of new contents: two new contact weapons, three new enemies, 43 waves and a whole new level (paving the way to the mothership).



Of course, we have fixed and destroyed many bugs.

And we are very happy to say that we have annihilated one of the biggest bug in our bullet patterns: sometimes, the first bullet of a pattern was not following its direction. This is now over. Enjoy!

Features



  • New boss: the almighty Mothership. With this boss, the standard run of the game is complete. We will continue to improve the Mothership in the following weeks.
  • New mode: Superplay. The Superplay mode removes lots of random in the game. You choose a variant — a number — of the game, and this variant will always generate the same waves, weapons and upgrades. This mode is unlocked when you finish (by beating the Mothership) the game once.
  • New weapon: the Sword. Crush those ships!
  • New weapon: the Jaw. Because… why not?
  • New enemy: the Heavy Turret.
  • New enemy: the Heavy Fighter.
  • New enemy: the Heavy Battleship. Bigger, deadlier, heavily armored. Don't mess with it.
  • 43 new waves.
  • Redesign: the Flamethrower, a shiny new burning beauty.©
  • The player's ship shows a small aura when it is hit.
  • You are invincible after beating a boss.

Bug fixes/technical stuffs



  • The Ultralaser now uses the "destroy junks and rocks instantly" upgrade correctly.
  • We have fixed some upgrades which were not properly applied to weapons.
  • The "Backfire damages" upgrade is optimized.
  • The Autocannon upgrade has been improved. It should no longer target invisible enemies.
  • Weapons are sorted by category in the Arena.
  • Bots and Autocannon can target a Cargo and should be more intelligent.
  • The Battleship boss should now longer be blocked on its first pattern.
  • We have re-done the level generator. It should remove the little freezes between waves, and it should also fix the infinite wave bug (we hope).
  • We have also added a timer to trigger a new wave if a wave is frozen indefinitely.
  • Rejoice: we have finally squashed a big bug in our patterns. For example, the Corvet first big pink bullet will go where it is expected.

Balance



  • The "Laser immunity" upgrade has been tweaked. Instead of protecting you completely, it slows you down when you are hit by a laser. It's still better than being hurt, but it's not without consequence anymore.
  • The Cruiser boss is easier. You don't have to shoot a specific part to hurt him from now on.
  • The Battleship boss' first pattern is a bit easier.
  • The +25% score bonus upgrade has been reduced to +20%.
  • The "CATEGORY +50% drop rate" upgrade also increases the damage of its category (+10%).
  • Flamethrower: slighty better.
  • The "Laser Rain" is a bit easier now. Hopefully.
  • Bots benefit from the +XX% damages upgrades.
  • The Rockets are a bit better.
  • The Carrier boss is now launching fighters when she installs the shield.
  • The Carrier boss has a bit less HPs.
  • The Carrier boss fighters generation is a bit slower.
  • The Hypergun does more damages.
  • Thanks to the bug we eradicated in the patterns, some enemies are a bit stronger, like the fighters. Care must be taken!
  • You will start to encounter some standard enemies with a shield. It's a new feature that we included partially for the moment. We will work on that in the future.
