Stone Rage

Milestones

Hello everyone! We just wanted to quickly touch base with you all to let you know how everything is going here at Mountainwheel Studios where we are currently standing.

In terms of game interest we are currently included in over 11,000 Steam user's wishlists. That is an amazing number to hit and we hope to grow that as we push our marketing closer to release. This is an important number for us because it will help us prepare our servers. Please feel free to share with your friends and motivate them to wishlist us.

If you have paid any attention to Stone Rage lately, you will know we had programmer troubles. You may also know that we recently brought on a new programmer. He is working out phenomenally and is really becoming a strong asset for the team. He has fixed a lot of bugs, cleaned up a lot of messy code left over from past programmers, and is helping us implement new features.

Speaking of new features. We are currently working on a leveling system. This is exciting for us because we had not expected to start this feature until after we launched onto Early Access. This is no guarantee that we will have the leveling system ready for when we do launch but we are working on it. More details on this will available in the future.

Now, time for the big news that we really hope will get everyone excited. We will be inviting players to closed testing in April / May. We plan on running closed testing for the entire month leading up to our Early Access release. This is going to help us out on so many levels and will give some of you a chance to peek behind the curtain. Stay tuned as we get closer for information on how this will work!

StoneRage - Almost There

Hello everyone! We hope you are having a wonderful 2018 so far. Just a brief update for today to let you all know where we stand but first, our apologies for the incorrect “Wishlist” listing of March 1st as the release date. This was clearly a mistake and we are unsure why it was listed as such. Thank you all for your understanding.

Now to the fun stuff. As you may know, we lost our programmer in December. This, obviously, caused some unexpected delays and has slowed our progress. We really thank you all for your patience during all of this as it has certainly but rough for the team and we imagine rough for some of you as well. We are happy to finally announce that we have brought a new programmer onto the team and work has fully resumed. We have high hopes that he will be able to help us make Stone Rage the game we envision.

Our next step now that we have a full team once again is to continue working on bug fixes that we are aware of and implementing the last few features that we consider necessary for our Early Access release. We hope to have a phase of closed testing at some point before release and many of you have expressed your interest in participating in this. Testing will help us sort out any unseen bugs that you all may find as well as highlighting any features that need tuning, added or even removed so stay tuned for that!

Thank you all again, and we look forward to seeing you in game. As always, stop by the Steam Discussions page, our Forum or our Discord as our Community Manager is always ready to answer questions.

Stone Rage 2018!

Hello everyone, we hope you all had a wonderful holiday!

An unexpected announcement today as we are delaying Stone Rage to Q1/Q2 2018. Unfortunately our long time programmer left the team shortly after our December announcement. The team has been hard at work trying to find a replacement but it has taken longer than expected as we have to first find someone and then get them brought up to speed and to a point where they are comfortable enough working on Stone Rage and with our team. This certainly is not what we expected and not what we wanted.

When we have our programmer up and running we will be able to implement any last minute features but most importantly work out any of the remaining bugs that we are aware of. One thing we are adamantly against is launching Stone Rage in a buggy state. We understand that with a game as large and complex as Stone Rage that bugs and other issues will exist, but we are taking whatever steps possible to minimize that before launch.

On a positive note, the rest of the team is using this time to work on their respective roles. Our level designers are adding more life and detail into the world, we are optimizing the game more and more, and some of the features we are excluding at launch are being further designed.

We apologize that we haven't been more vocal lately but expect more updates and we appreciate everyone's patience. We look forward to seeing you all in Stone Rage!
