Super Turbo Demon Busters! vs. Odysseus Kosmos and his Robot Quest

Hi, guys!

As you may know, we have two different old school games in dev.

The first game is Odysseus Kosmos and his Robot Quest. A classic comedy quest about being geeky and procrastinative in space!

http://store.steampowered.com/app/645820

And the second game is Super Turbo Demon Busters! A rogue-like game about space troopers escaping from a planet filled with monsters, nuclear fire, viruses and ironic humor.

http://store.steampowered.com/app/262810

We think both games are great. They share pixel graphics (which is pretty cool), enthralling gameplay and sly humor. On the other hand, they are completely different, so we are interested - which game you like more.

To find it out, we decided to manage a GIVEAWAY for a game that the community will choose. VOTE for a game you like the most and remember - it's your privilege to decide which game will win the battle.

Here is the link:

Next Friday we will giveaway 50 Steam keys among the voters.

Thanks and stay tuned!

p.s. don't forget to wishlist the games, if you like them =)

Updated!

Princes and mercenaries!

After the game was released, we kept working hard. Today, we present the fruits of our labor.

A huge new map will unveil the Horde’s origin. We’ve added two scenarios to the game that allow you to play as the steppe people and rise from the chieftain of a remote tribe to a fierce Steppe Lord.

The “Riot” button in the corner has become even more useful: rebellious lands now cease any resistance and offer to join the player without a fight as soon as they are encountered. Conquer your enemies by instigating riots in their lands and get their armies with no losses.

The color scheme of the game is now fixed: map borders have a modest dark color now; friends and enemies are also color-coded and highlighted. Distinguishing friends from foes and neutrals has become much easier.

The event order in the log has become more straightforward: now you’ll see the events that demand your decisions first. Events themselves are now animated: for example, you can see an enemy general execution with your own eyes. A good reason to log in once more!

We also fixed a number of bugs based on the feedback you provided in the comments. Thank you for the support!

Folly though it may seem to you, we have decided to make the greatest change in the entire history of the game’s development. All commands are now executed immediately, rather than at the end of a turn. In a single turn, we can attack with a general, immediately see the outcome of the battle and, based on that outcome, continue to move and attack with other generals, or withdraw our forces. From now on, your orders will be executed immediately, rather than on the following turn.

We have also made enemy turns visible. You can now track the movement of their generals, the shifting of control over provinces, as well as enemy casualties and reinforcements. Study their maneuvers and plan your response, or skip the animation by simply pressing a key.

We feel that the game has become fast, dynamic, and aggressive. Try out the new rules and tell us what you think in the comments.

Before every battle, an additional formation screen is now displayed where you can see details about the enemy’s strength and position your troops before sending them into battle.

Our work on improving the interface is nearing completion. All game screens now follow the same style. We have also moved the buttons for general commands closer to their models. The combined strength of a general’s army is displayed above their head. Uncharted lands surrounding the map are now beautifully framed.

Take note of the new recruiting screen, in which generals have been merged with mercenaries. You can now only buy one general per turn. The game now has a cap on the total number of generals you can control.

We have also made changes to the game’s setting, bringing it closer to the genre of alternate history. All factions and soldiers are now proudly open about their historical roots. The Carolingians and the Horde, Hansa and Babylonia, the Normans and the Zoroastrians: let the paths of real historical figures cross in novel and fictional situations. Take a “what if” approach to history and discover that, which could have been... Additionally, we have reworked the tutorial to make it even more intuitive, and fixed a number of bugs, both major and minor. This is our final stretch; we are weeks away from release. Will we have the time to make the game better still? Follow our updates and you’ll find out.

Battle system improved!

Princes and mercenaries!

IMPORTANT! After the patch, all games saved mid-scenario will be LOST (but unlocked scenarios will stay unlocked and NOT be lost).

To elaborate: due to edits made to the game data, the save format is changing. This means that after the patch, you will be UNABLE to resume a scenario where you left it off by loading a save file. However, all scenarios that you’ve unlocked will remain available, and you can start any one of them - only from the BEGINNING, though.

Balance. Armies and generals have had some of their math fixed. That’s a simple way to describe what was essentially an overhaul of the game’s entire model of calculations. We hope that this will increase the impact of every type of troop and give new meaning to old tactics. Reshuffling armies will be more intuitive and widely used. That’s not all, as far as balancing work is concerned; keep watching the updates.

We’ve also changed the main screen interface to make the game more comfortable. The game now has fewer unnecessary questions and prompts, formations don’t need to be confirmed anymore, you don’t have to save anything or set a default formation: these are all done automatically. A dismissed general’s troops now remain in the province, and the updated sorting mechanism for the list of generals no longer mixes them with garrisons. An alliance can be broken right from the map view, by attacking the ally. War has never been so comfortable in Dark Ages!

It’s time for a great war; it’s raiding time!
