SAF Update #13!! - SAF Version 0.13

OI OI LADS!



We're finally back with a new update for you to get stuck into!

What's new:

  • Added Crosses, Headers and bicycle kicks!



    On me 'ed son!


    Great skill by Ocokoljić (AKA @Axcel)

  • Added Custom Teams!



    Now you can create and edit your own team and play them online or in the single player modes. We look forward to seering what you guys create!

    We've also added OutOfTheBit F.C and some tinpot club called Early Access F.C (Never heard of them).

  • Added Team Management



    Someone not performing? Need to bring on a super sub? NOW YOU CAN!
    Now with Team management you can setup your squad, change formation and substitute players during the game.

    (*NOTE* Team management is currently not available online, but will be soon)

  • Gameplay improvements


    Players now have energy and fitness levels which affects the way they play throughout the match. The more you use them, the more tired they get. (We've also introduce a modifier Never Tired that stops this if you prefer.) This carries over in tournaments mode too, so managing your team should add a new challenge here.

  • Bug fixes


    Have made some great progress fixing some nasty issues, especially ones online. There are still some lurking which we are in the process of squashing.

  • Player Names


    Unfortunately, we have had to slightly scramble the player names in the team data. We are working on making this customisable ASAP.

  • Chapecoense


    On a more sombre note, after the horribly tragic events in Brazil, out of respect we have added Associação Chapecoense de Futebol to our Extra teams section. We wish the best to the family and friends of the players.



That's about it for this update. We're fully on track for next release and can't wait to show you what we have planned.

Sorry for being so quiet recently, we're still hard at work on the next update which is oh so close to being ready.

For said update, we would like to invite all of you (or at least 20) to sign up for Early Access F.C! A new custom team that will feature in the game.

All we need to know are the following:


  • The name you want on your shirt.
  • Your Preferred Position
  • Your Skin Tone
  • Your Hair style
  • Your Hair colour


If you think you've got what it takes, head on over to the EARLY ACCESS F.C Discussion and enter in your details there (there is also a list of available hair styles, skin tones etc)

Again, sorry to be so long with this update, but rest assured it will be on it's way soon :)

Quick Update

Hello!

We know we've been a bit quiet recently, so we just wanted to let you all know that we are still here and will be adding a new version very soon! We're at a point where we might be able to roll two updates into one, so we hope to combine them for one SUPER ARCADE UPDATE!

SAF Update #12!! - SAF Version 0.12

Hello again!


Back again with another update!

Last week we went to EGX in Birmingham and had an absolute blast!


We spoke to lots of people about the game, and the general consensus was good. We also used our time there wisely to test a new and improved version, which we are happy to release today!

What's new:

  • First round of Gameplay improvements


    We've improved the keeper, he is now not so annoying, a bit smarter and fairer on penalties!

    We've also improved defending, so there's more action in the midfield now.

    Player stats are taken into account too, so certain players bend the ball better, tackle better etc...

    Added player collision! You no longer run through the player! You can barge into them (just by running onto them) and can get the ball this way, even causing the other player to fall over (can also push the ref)

    Overall these improvements make the game much more enjoyable (we think) and are a better balance, but still have a lot more to tweak and improve!

  • Bug Fixes


    There were a few instances where the ref decided to run towards the goal when a penalty was awarded, this has now been fixed!

    Other bugs here and there have been fixed :)



All in all it's been great to start making these core changes, and are already working on the next batch.

In the next update we should have Team Management implemented, and more gameplay adjustments.

Hopefully we haven't broken anything. Let us know what you think!

SAF Update #11!! - SAF Version 0.11


ACHIEVEMENT GET!


Another update, and one we hope will please those looking for a better single player experience!

What's new:

  • Added Load and Save!!


    It's been a long time coming, but FINALLY we have Load and Save for tournaments! So you can start and resume any of the preset tournaments :)
    Along with this, we have locked the match settings for any preset tournament, so no cheating!
  • Added Achievements


    The first of many. At the moment there are 7 for you to unlock, but we will continually be adding more and more. Furthermore, if you have any ideas for achievements, please let us know in the Official Achievements Discussion
  • Fixed some Team Data


    Some of you sharp folk noticed a few inconsistencies and problems with certain teams. Thanks to you they have now been fixed!
  • General bug fixes!


    But some still remain...


We're super happy to have achievements now implemented, and with Load/Save all setup SAF is starting to have some single player replayability :)

Next up for us is some core gameplay improvements, and team management.

SAF Update #10!! - SAF Version 0.10


♫ Premier League!? You're 'avin a laugh♫!



The Football season is back, and so are we! We've got a nice update to bring you:

What's new:

  • Added Premier League and Serie A Teams!


    The first of many new teams have been added, with roughly up to date squads and kits (we will update according with the transfers).
  • New Tournaments!!


    Along with the teams, you can relive last seasons magic of Leicester winning the PL, or take Palermo to their rightful place of top of Serie A!
    At the moment there is still no load and save, but that will be added within the following weeks, so you can actually have a bit of a single player experience outside of one marathon sitting.
  • Improved online handling


    We've only gone and written our own server for SAF! This means that we now have full control of the online handling, so if for some reason the servers drop, we can fix it much quicker than if we were with a third party. We've also optimised for LAN games, so if you are playing at work or school, it should feel super smooth.
  • General bug fixes!


    More to go


Whilst we have your attention, we think now is a good time to present our plan for Super Arcade Football, and what we think needs to be added before it's out of Early Access. It's a high level plan, with no specific dates, but we just want to give you an idea of what we are working on, and also to get your feedback!


The Plan (in order):

  • Add Team management!


    Now we have our team data system all working (and the data to go with it) we will be adding in substitutions, formations, team picking etc. This will also include gameplay changes such as energy, injuries, and red/yellow cards carrying over from matches in tournaments.

  • Create your own team!


    Not to be mistaken for Career Mode (we'll get to that later). This will allow you to create and customise your own team(s), and use them online.

  • Big Round of Gameplay Improvements!


    Improving AI, Goal keepers, Referee, better physics...basically the game. As well as adding in all that good stuff we've been talking about for ages, like way more modifiers, weather, celebrations and more.

  • Super Polish and Visuals Overhaul phase!


    Create new and varied player models (with more detail). Upgrading the Menus and animations so they are more polished, as well as more sounds (anyone else fed up "AFC WIMBLEDON....AFC WIMBLEDON"?). Basically bringing the game to the next level in terms of quality.

  • Career Mode!


    The big momma. This will take a lot of testing and work, so we think it's best to move it nearer the end of the project, so that we can focus on it completely. We have a good idea of what we plan to include, which we will present to you lot nearer the time. This phase will also focus on the online progressions aspect of the game.

  • Final Polish!


    Fix all the bugs that career mode will bring, and get the game to a gold standard.


So, there it is.

Now that we've built the structure for online and the data, we can really move full steam ahead on SAF. So, big thanks to everyone who's been giving great feedback, positive and negative, we are super pumped to get this game to the level everyone wants! And thanks for spreading the word, it really helps to increase the community, and to find some newbs online!

We've got yet another brief update for SAF...

What's new:

    Added a much needed extra button


    Now when you finish a match online, you can re-setup the match without losing connection with the opponent...

    There were a few bugs that could actually crash the game, we have managed to crush them!

    We're working on bigger things behind the scenes, but these are some good fixes for now!

      SAF Update #7!! - SAF Version 0.07c

      ONLINE IS HERE!



      We're Super DUPER happy to announce we have added the first beta version of online!!!!!!!!!!!!



      Thanks to everyone who helped test the private Beta version, we seem to have fixed the issues that you all brought up.

      There will no doubt be more bugs / things to improve, which we are working on, but we wanted to get the current version out there for more and more people to test.


      What's new:

        Added bloody online!!


        Again, still needs way more features, but this current version of online has find a random game, and start a private game from anyone on your steam friends list. If you want to add Quistard and challenge me, feel free. But remember to bring a good supply of salt, because I don't hold back.
