Hi everyone! Even though the game is out, I've been doing some small tweaks and, biggest of all, a new character!
Due to external reasons, Guapo will not continue being part of the character roster. But fear not! His slot has been taken by a professional, cool-minded, grumpy lady-of-war: Patch!
But let's cut to the chase! Patch notes:
Guapo has been replaced by new character Patch for external reasons
Made in-menu postprocessing less saturated
Reduced stuck timer from three seconds to one
Fixed small collission hiccups in Pawn's Road
Fixed bug that prevented coins to spawn in Token Race 8
Hope you have lots of fun!
Thanks, Raúl

Second beta build
Hi! How're you doing? :)

To celebrate, here's a second batch of wallpapers:
Take care and be safe!
Beta branch launched + Official wallpapers 1
Hi! How're you doing? :)
As I work on the next update, I've come across a small problem: Some of the stuff I need to add to the game actually requires changes to the steam integration! So I thought the best way to test them as I add them is to add a beta branch. You're all free to check it in the game settings!
There's bugfixes, tweaks, and currently I'm working on cloud saving. It'll be a perfect opportunity for you to give feedback if you want, too! An item is too powerful? Is there a specific point where the CPU racers have problems? Anything you want improved, let me know in the game forums. Be sure to let me know that you're playing the beta branch, too!
Also, I've come with a small gift for you: The first batch of official character wallpapers! I hope you like them!
Take care and be safe!
The wholesome update
Hello everyone! How're you? It feels like it's been ages since last time I came with an update. It's been months. As you know, a lot of stuff has happened this year, and here in Spain, we've had it rough. I'm lucky and grateful to say I haven't been personally affected.
But enough of that for now, we're here to see the new update. :)
The first thing you'll notice is the brand new intro animation! It's short, intense and cartoony, and it's been a blast learning while working on it. I hope you like it.
The second novelty is the Kitty Playground mode: A chill place where you pat cats on their head or play with them with toys. Every time you enter there's a different selection of tank cats!
And, of course, there's three new characters to finish up the roster! Meet Luna, Geiger and Bakeneko! They're very different from each other, but they're good kitties in their own ways.
Other things added to this version are new missions, a third Grand Prix cup, and looooots of tweaks and fixes. Want to see them all? Here's the patch notes:
Added Kitty playground: a mode in which you can pat the kitties and play with them
Added new characters: Luna, Geiger and Bakeneko
Added several Boost Challenge missions
Added animated introduction sequence
Added new grand prix: The Whisker Cup
Removed all netcode from game, for optimization purposes
Pause and results menus now use same key bindings as rest of the menus
Fixed bug when exiting remap controls scene with ESC key
Shotgun hitbox now shouldn't interfer with player movement
Given the ice trap visible ice spikes to make it easier to see in bright areas
Greatly reduced homing laser's stun time
Reduced the strength of lasso weapon
Slightly reduced Calico's stats
Slightly increased Mao's stats
Reduced the big missile explosion push force
Halved bubble shield time
Reduced fire trail boost duration
Tweaked boostpad force in Thunder Heights before big jump
Added patrons and collaborators to credits
And now, with all of the update news explained clear, I want to add something very important. Next update will most likely be v1.0, and make the game exit Early Access. For that reason, I ask you for your feedback. I want to make next update mostly fixes and polish, to make the game as smooth as possible, and as close as the experience you want as I can make it be. Any hiccup, balance issue, or strange looking corner, I want to fix in the next update, so don't be shy about bringing them up in the community forum. There's a thread for that. :)
It's been about three years since this project started, and sometimes it's been hard to continue... but I'm happy to have reached this point with you guys.
Take care in these strange times we're living, and have fun.
The dark update
Hi everyone! First of all, I want to wish you happy holidays. Now, to make things quick, here's what this update is all about!
New track: Bakeneko's mansion
Changed how reverse speed is limited to allow faster bounces off walls
Increased reverse speed limit from 10% of max speed to 15% of max speed
Now you need to press (and hold) drift while already turning in a direction
Drifting direction is fixed on start of drift
Turning against drift will allow you to reduce the drift turn, but not cancel it
Drifting now only slows you half as much as before
Drifting boost rewards now don't depend on your current speed, and depend solely on drifting time (capped at around 4 seconds)
Added ind/ividual bloom setting in options
Added new language: simplified chinese
Removed Online button from main menu
Sea Mines' explosions now last half as much in the scene and push a bit less
Fixed Orbital Blade, Shield and Rainbow Paw interfering with scenery collission
As you can see here, I've taken into account numerous points from your feedback, and hope the game is closer to the experience you all want to have when playing Supersonic Tank Cats. :)
Thank you, and have fun!
Coming in the next update
Hi everybody!
Developing a game is hard work that takes some time, but I didn't want to leave you waiting for too long! So I'm presenting a small peek at the next update, that will bring a new track and many fixes and tweaks!
Beware of Bakeneko's Mansion! A cursed japanese mansion full of fire and spirits, and surrounded by haunting bamboo forests lit by fireflies! And when I say cursed, I really mean it...
Be careful with these wandering souls! They're adorable, but dangerous!
And also, some very needed tweaks and fixes are coming: Shield, Orbital Blades and Rainbow Paw now won't affect collission with scenery, bouncing off a wall will now leave you further away from it and reverse speed now won't have a hard cap. Controlling your cat will be easier and smoother!
I'm still adding small fixes to the game, so if you have any problem with balancing or know of any janky spot in a track, let me know in the comments and I'll work on it. :)
Thanks, and have fun!
Nuclear update is live
Hi everyone!
Today's update is a mixed bag. I'll start with the good news!
This new track is full of alternate paths and open areas so you can choose your way around! Find the fastest route, or take the safest path around the mutant poison-spitting plants and toxic waters in Luminous Lake!
The new character is a very special guest: Guapo, from Hyperbeard's Kleptocats! Kepp an eye out for this little prankster! He might steal your heart!
On to sadder news, online multiplayer has been buggier and more unstable with each update that added content. Making an online game that just works is a big feat, one that requires lots of hard work, expertise, and dedicated staff. Sadly, I haven't been able to fix it in time for this update. Since the start of development, a lot of things have changed in the game development world, with online frameworks being born and phased out. At this point I as a developer I'm facing a situation in which documentation for the exact version of the online systems I'm using is scarce and in some cases, support simply has dissapeared. As a result, I'm forced to take a step back and see how to tackle this problem in a different way. For now the mode is disabled, as it's almost non-functional at this point. While I want the game to reach it's maximum potential, this specific part of development has been taxing on my own health and energy for a long time, and we're at a point of inflexion. Up until today, I've still taken shots at fixing this mode, but right now, the best route is removing online play. I will, of course, keep you all posted if a solution is found, although for my own health I'm switching focus to adding content instead, and the most probable outcome is that I don't go back to online mode.
I want to apologize, too, to those who bought the game solely in hopes of getting an online experience. I've been feeling bad about it for a long time, and I hope you all are understanding with the difficulties and limitations of solo (almost-solo, technically) game development.
Without further delay, here's the changelog:
New guest character: Guapo from Kleptocats
New track: Luminous Lake
Made Rainbow Paw weapon require usage instead of being automatically used on pickup
Changed fullscreen settings for better compatibility
Added Kryat Lore from patreon to Special thanks in credits
Online mode has been disabled while the whole system is undergoing an overhaul
Tweaked Rainbow Paw hitbox so it doesn't interfere with scenery as much
Fixed UI bug on unlock window that didn't properly show "1st", "2nd" and "3rd"
