After much deliberation and sadness, beginning today, we will be ceasing development of Survived By. We greatly appreciate the time you’ve spent playing Survived By since our launch in Closed Beta and all of the feedback you’ve provided.
This decision hasn’t come easily. We still believe in the core idea of Survived By, but after careful consideration of the game’s progress since its inception, we feel we won’t be able to reach the vision we originally conceived.
We plan to keep the Survived By servers up until April 19th, 2019 and disabling all in-game real money purchases later today. To anyone who has supported Survived By’s development, we’ll be giving full automatic refunds to everyone who has ever purchased items or packs in the coming weeks.
Thank you all, Ancestors.

***This patch contains a bug that causes a full set of thorns gear to drop from bosses and full drops on enemies, so we will be rolling back progress to this morning before the update. It is recommended that you do not log in and play, as that progress will be lost. I apologize for this inconvenience, stay tuned for updates.***
Gameplay
The Druid's Bear Form attack no longer has a charge component.
The attack is now a swipe that shoots 9 short-range projectiles in a half-circle formation, with a short delay between each. The closer you are to an enemy, the more bullets will hit it. (Visually, picture a clock with the first bullet firing at the 3, then 2, then 1, 12, 11, 10, and the last one firing in the 9 position.)
Notifications for the Resurgence attacks have been updated to be more informative.
Pings now send out a growing circle so that even if the location is not visible the direction can still be inferred.
The caps on Well duration and Valr earned are being met far too easily, so the formulas setting Wraith stats and Valr rewards have been updated.
The layout of the Well has been updated to limit locations where the wraiths can get stuck.
Rewards now scale with party size (ex: with a full party size, drop rates are doubled)
Wraith behavior has been updated so that they are far less likely to start ignoring you.
The Followup Ancestral Legacy has been deprecated is no longer awarded to new players, as it could be abused for infinite health energy. The legacy will be reworked and will return in a few weeks. (It was intended to be deprecated, so this will happen in the next patch.)

Editor’s Notes
After releasing our preview we received feedback that our relic update needed some reworking. We also wanted to let you know that our crafting UI changes will not go live on Wednesday as planned - there was a delay in completing them and we want to have a little extra time to test them before they go live.
Revised Relics
Your first relic consumed will provide a major stat increase
Reaching level 2 requires that you consume 5 more relics (provides the pre-patch equivalent of consuming one relic)
Higher levels will require additional relics but the benefit of this update is that now you can keep consuming relics to get higher stats instead of the previous low cap
By consuming a total of 40 relics, you will reach the equivalent of double the pre-patch stats cap from relics
You can continue to gain greater power by leveling up your relic level to 99
Week 10 Hotfix 1
Fixed a bug where the benefit of Relics consumed before the last patch were not stacking properly with newly consumed Relics.
Fixed a bug where the benefits of Celerity Response, Defensive Response, Evasive Escape, Rapid Escape and Restorative Response could stack.
Fixed a bug where equipment that had level requirements would sometimes be unequipped when logging out and back in again.
Fixed a bug where Light and Medium Heirloom armor could receive an affix on creation.
Fixed a bug where loot drops were appearing a long ways away from the source of the drop.
Fixed a bug where 0s was sorting to the top of the Well Time Leaderboard.
And as a final note, we are currently working through a bug with crafting recipes that cost Bloodstone. To get around that you can now buy a "Bloodstone Cluster" from either the crafting vendor or the Treasure Hunter if you want to craft an Offering. This is a temporary fix, and once the real fix is done those clusters will be removed from the game. (Please don't horde them. They won't be worth anything in a few days.)

Offerings, Dangerous Chests, and Drop Rates - Oh My!
Hello Ancestors, this week’s update features a few bigger changes in relation to materials, item recovery, dangerous chests, and more! We’ve listened to your feedback and are trying to work towards the following goals.
Create a more fair path to item recovery
Increase the value of high level crafting materials
Increase more smoothly the rarity of materials earned over time
Make dangerous chests more rewarding
To that end, we’ve introduced a few changes.
Item Recovery Changes
Prior to this update, Ancestors could only pass one item for kin for free. We recognized there were concerns about how item recovery worked and hoped to address them. Now we’ve added a special item that you can use to recover your items upon death. Meet Offerings - a consumable that you can offer in exchange for a single piece of gear at death.
Offerings are obtained by:
Purchasing them from the Returner in the Tower for Electrum (35 each)
Crafting them from Blue Jade and Waystone fragments
Before you can craft an Offering, you’ll need:
Blue Jade, dropped by bosses, Dangerous Chests, and bounty targets
Waystone Fragments, a potential reward from Rank II and III Challenges and a guaranteed reward from Rank IV Challenges.
Additional Offering notes
Offerings and Waystone Fragments are bound to the character that earns them, but Blue Jade can be exchanged with other players
You’ll need to have your Offerings before dying in order to pass them down your lineage
Materials Restructure
In order to make high-level crafting materials more valuable we’ve adjusted the drop rates for T9 and T10 enemies so that they provide rewards more often, but at a lower tier.
Changes to Drop rates for T9 normal enemies
Before: Dropped T5 materials
Now: Drops T1 materials and T3 materials
Changes to Drop rates for T10 normal enemies
Before: Dropped T5 materials
Now: Drops T3 materials and T5 materials
Enemies below T9 will have the same drop rate and materials that existed prior to this update.
Revamped Dangerous Chests
In addition to making high level materials easier to find in T9 & T10 we’ve also revamped the dangerous chests to have better material drops and in some instances better quantities.
Changes to Dangerous Chests
T2: Increased amount of materials dropped
T3: Upgraded drops from T0 to T1
T4: Upgraded drops from T0 to T1, increased quantity
T5: Upgraded drops from T0 to T3
T6: Upgraded drops from T0 to T3, increased quantity
T7: Downgraded drops from T5 to T3, increased quantity and drop rates
T8: Downgraded drops from T5 to T3, increased quantity and drop rates
T9: Increased drop rates, removed T8 drops, reduced pool of material to 2 per dungeon, added chance for L5 and L6 charms (pool per dungeon limited to no more than 3 charms)
T10: Increased drop rates, removed T8 drops, increased quantity, added chance for L5 and L6 charms (all)
To balance these new rewards for chests we’ve also taken a look at the types of enemy encounters that you face to make them more challenging and thus more rewarding for seeking them out.
Changes to Dangerous Chest encounters
Spawning Nest (T2 and T9), reduced size of burrowers, increased burrower speed, reduced burrower count, added defenders, increased defender size and Health, increased defender projectile count
Other encounters are currently being worked on and we will share details once the time comes!
Let us know if you have any questions!

To be released at 11am CT on 1/16/19: Update: This build has been delayed, we'll update with an ETA as soon as possible!
Update: the build will go live at 11AM CT on 1/17/19.
Known issues:
The first time you enter the store on the main menu, you won't be able to purchase anything. The in-game store still works, and the main menu store will work if it's returned to. This will be hotfixed.
If you already completed all Rank IV challenges, you won't be able to earn Fragments - if this happened to you, reach out to us at www.survivedby.com/zendesk and we will reward your account with Fragments.
There are two keys in the shop for unreleased raid dungeons - please don't purchase these, as there is no entrance and they won't work! These will be removed in a hotfix.

Recovering items on death now requires Offerings, which can be crafted or purchased with electrum
Material drops now improve more gradually when moving into more difficult content (applies to both normal drops and dangerous chest drops)
In general, high level drop rates for materials have been increased, while in some cases the level of the material dropped has been decreased
High level charms are now part of the T9 and T10 dangerous chest loot tables

Gear Up for the Resurgence Event
Note: This event begins with our update today at 12PM CST.
The Chimera threaten the Waypoint Shrines and you must help defend them!
Humanity has been forced to retreat to its final stronghold, the Tower. The Chimera and the Fury, recognizing the importance of the Waypoint Shrines, have decided to launch a final assault to wipe out humanity once and for all.
It falls to you, Ancestors, to defend the Waypoint Shrines and protect the Tower.
Once the assault begins, there will be an announcement made in region chat whenever a Waypoint Shrine is under attack, as well as a Map marker to direct you to the Waypoint Shrine in need.
After the announcement is made, you will have 15 minutes to reach the Waypoint Shrine. Use this time to gather allies and prepare your defenses before the assault!
Bolster your defenses by finding the Local Commander, and turning in unwanted gear to spawn Town Guards (up to a maximum of 8 Guards). Gear turn-in is shared between Ancestors, so you’ll want to recruit some friends to help you along the way!
The attack on a Waypoint Shrine will last for five minutes and consist of three waves of enemies for you to fend off. During the attack, you must keep the Local Commander alive or the Waypoint Shrine will fall!
If you are successful in defending the Waypoint Shrine, you will receive a tier-appropriate piece of gear with a guaranteed affix! Should you fail and the Shrine falls, it will be unusable for the next hour.
You must defend the Waypoint Shrines, Ancestor, or your advantage over the surging tide of Chimera will be lost.
Best of luck, Ancestors. You’ll need it.
Rollback Rewards
Hello, Ancestors!
I wanted to make sure that I followed up regarding our plans for those impacted by the rollback on December 28th. Our initial plan was to send all players impacted a combination of: 45 Bloodstone, 1000 Valr, 3X reward aura stones, 250 promotional electrum, and 5000 silver.
After further evaluation (and wrangling an existing bug with sending Valr) we have increased the rewards and sent this reward out today to all players who logged in and lost progress as a result of the rollback on December 28th.
This reward can be claimed at your mailbox in town. As always, we never want to roll back progress unless we have no other option, but we hope that this reward makes up for it.
All the best,
- The Survived By Team
