Thank you for playing SWORD ART ONLINE Alicization Lycoris.

The latest patch “Ver1.04” has been released to fix major / minor bugs and apply improvements to your overall gaming experience. Please see below for details.

Please note that players with different versions of the game will not be able to join the same lobby in multiplayer. To play co-op multiplayer together with your friends, please ensure you all have the latest update installed.

Fixed issues


Quests



  • Added "Main Quest Recovery" to the title menu. Select this option whenever you want to start the ongoing quest from where you left it, or if the game freezes
  • Fixed the invisible walls preventing the player from proceeding in these locations:
    - Around the whirling waves in the "Reind Lakeshore"
    - Under the bridge in "Raubal Greenbelt"
    - Around the broken bridge in "Villind Plateaus"
    - Around Lurid village in "Lodend Mountain"
  • Selecting “Continue” in the main menu will now fix any further issues of players being blocked by an invisible wall.
  • Fixed the invisible wall in Tiese’s sub event; "Caring isn't Easy".
  • Fixed the incorrect location icon for a required item in one of the main Chapter 5 quests.
  • Fixed items “Chunk of Snowsilver”, “Sharp Beast Fang”, and “Glimmerstone” disappearing in certain quests.


Maps



  • Fixed clipping when using a Sword Skill in "The Northern Cave - Dark Path".
  • Added a save point near the Raid Dungeon.*

*Fast travel for this save point is planned for the next update.

System



  • Shortened screen fading during cutscenes.
  • Fixed being able to accept quests while holding hands with their partner.
  • Fixed being unable to edit your online name and comments during Character Create (Issue occurring and fixed only on STEAM® platform).
  • Fixed colour of costume changing to default when selecting "Restore defaults".
  • Added Raid Dungeons in the multiplayer option; "Search for Party" and "Recruit Party".**

*Only completed quests will be shown in the search results of “Search for Party”.
*Quests which players has not completed yet can be hosted in the “Recruit Party” option.


Battle



  • Added a “Retry” option for certain quests if the player gets defeated multiple times.
  • Partner characters now use normal attacks more often and support the player.
  • Enemy characters’ elevating attacks will no longer elevate.
  • Fixed enemies teleporting from their intended position when damaged by a strong attack.
  • Fixed processing drop when using the sword skill Vorpal Strike Lv3 during a chain burst.


UI



  • Fixed the enhanced rarity for the Raid Dungeon weapons not displaying as +5 on the window confirming the enhancement from +4 to +5.
  • Fixed the affinity rank not matching the current rank on the Arts code customisation screen.
  • Fixed the number of owned items changing to “0” in the item screen when going back and forth from "Temporary Storage", "Quest" and "Network” in the menu.
  • Fixed characters, not in the player’s party, not showing up in the results when searching Arts code by Character.


Multiplayer



  • Fixed the guest player becoming uncontrollable on certain occasions during multiplayer when joining a certain lobby hosted in "Central Cathedral".


Graphics



  • When selecting certain skin colours, fixed character’s eyes not being shown as intended for certain face patterns.


Skills



  • Fixed Renly’s skill “Boundless Wing" displaying as level 1 on the Skill Palette screen even when the branch skill is unlocked.
  • Fixed Renly's SP decreasing when using his skill in a combo finish.
  • Fixed the perfect dodge activating unintentionally when receiving damage from slipping.
  • Fixed the player deflecting slipping damage.


Arts code



  • Fixed the commands "Customize” and “Delete" in the main menu.


Camera



  • Improved camera controls.


Loading



  • Improved loading time.


Frame rate



  • Improved frame rates.


Others



  • Fixed other minor bugs and issues.

The latest patch “Ver1.03” has been released to fix major / minor bugs, and apply improvements to the overall gameplay. Please see below for details.

Fixed issues


Issues where the player becomes stuck or uncontrollable:


- Chapter 1: “First Real Fight”, “Low Attendance”:
On some occasions, the player would not be able to progress through the event after they talk to Ronie and Tiese. Now players will be able to talk to them again even if they save and return to the title screen after talking to only one of the characters.
- Chapter 1: “All That You Can Be” event (Sadore’s event):
If the player accepts the service quest “Marriage Mishap”, during the “All That You Can Be” event, the player could get stuck when moving to Sadore’s shop while being told to go to Abyssena’s shop. Players are now able to successfully complete both quests.
- Chapter 1: “Labyrinth of Memories”
Players have been unable to go down to the 90th floor from the 95th floor, being blocked by an invisible wall. Now players can successfully go back to the 90th floor from the 95th floor.
- Chapter 2: Fixed an issue that occurs during the event where the player needs to proceed to the town of Sustira in Sothercrois.
- Chapter 3: “Clamp Cluster”
Fixed the issue where the player would not be able to proceed due to being blocked by an invisible wall on certain occasions.
- Service quest: Fixed the issue where the player gets stuck during the service quest; “Defeating the Waterfall Beasts”.
- Others: During the main quest in Warmia Greenbelt, Deusoldort Desert, and Cordea Plains, partner characters used to trigger an event that prohibits the player to go beyond the playable area, and repeat labeling the same text, but now partner characters will no longer trigger that event.
Fixed the issue where players will be stuck when they perform a back flip on a certain location in the 95th floor of Central Cathedral.
- Online Multiplayer: Players with low progress of the main quest will not match with players with higher progress, and the progress will not be affected by the host player.

Maps:


- Fixed issues where players will clip through the map in certain areas.
- Fixed issues where the snow and rain weather effects slow the game.
- Improved loading and FPS issues. (Further improvements are planned in upcoming updates)

Camera:


- Improved camera controls (Further improvements are planned in upcoming updates)

System:


- “Auto-Jump Obstacles” settings will now only apply when the player is running.
- Fixed the issue where the progress would not be saved when crafting multiple items repeatedly.
- Fixed the issue where the proficiency of party members will decrease in certain conditions.
- Fixed the issue where the enemy character would cancel their winning animation when the player loses a Bladelock,
- Fixed the issue where the camera gets locked when the player becomes unable to fight
- Fixed the issue where the player was able to move the camera while sharing the bed with a partner.
- Fixed the issue where hints for Main Quest would show up above another player.
- Changed the label of item rarities so it is easier to understand.
- Added the “Combat log” option
- Items can now have a discount depending on the player’s Renown.
- While no enemies are targeting the player, pressing down the left stick will allow the player to sheathe and run.

Battle:


- Lowered the difficulty of Chapter 1.
- When a deflect is successfully pulled off, the follow up attack will no longer be cancelled by guarding.
- Enemies teleporting back to their original position will no longer reset their health.
- Fixed the issue where the player will clip through the wall when using certain sword skills in certain areas.

UI:


- Improved the speed of changing tabs in the menu.
- Fixed the issue where an unintended icon would appear on screen when Ally Skills are pulled off.
- Fixed issues where the pin on the map will disappear on certain occasions.
- Fixed the issue where the weapon you bought and equipped at a store will not be reflected in the model in the main menu.

Quests:


- Fixed the issue where the quest icon changes in certain occasions.

Network:


- Fixed and balanced overall issues regarding the Wayfarer.
- Fixed the issue where the camera moves unintentionally when talking to a Wayfarer while a battle starts in the other player’s game.

Graphics:


- Fixed graphical issues regarding the character’s equipment.

Multiplayer Mode:


- Fixed the issue where the guest player cannot bring an NPC Wayfarer to multiplayer mode.
- Fixed the issue where the player starts outside of a map when failed to synchronize quest progress.
- Fixed the issue where players will be unable to control their character when revived during a swimming state.
- Fixed the issue where the guest player will not be able to control their character when the connection fails during certain occasions.
- Fixed the issue where the sitting motion is not synchronized between players in the same lobby.
- Fixed the issue where guest players with low progress of the main quest were able to join a lobby with a higher progress rate.

Quest:


- Fixed the issue with the quest icons being labeled unintentionally when the player opens the map in Santoria.
- Fixed several descriptions of certain quests.
- Fixed sub episodes “Alice's Resolve: Her Final Fight” and “Medina's Resolve: Her Final Fight” to be accessible even after a certain period of time.

Skills:


- Fixed certain text colors to match their effect.
- Fixed issues regarding Bladelock
- Corrected the description of "Heavy Blow" to match its motion.
- Increased overall damage of Sword Skills.
- Fixed enemies’ motions when certain skills are used.
- Balanced the attacks by Bows to increase its range of normal attacks.
- Fixed motions of certain skills.
- Fixed the labels Buff List to show correct icons.
- Adjusted several effects pulled by certain sword effects.
- Fixed the issue where the buff “HP Slip” is triggered unintentionally in Santoria.

Tutorial:


- Added tutorial for Wayfarers and Play Avatars.
- Fixed typographical errors in certain tutorials.
- Fixed issues where the tutorial would not get triggered.
- Fixed issues where the tutorial video gets disturbed.


Advanced Coding:


- Fixed the issue where the “Customization Points” gets used in certain occasions when setting an Arts Code.
- Balanced overall settings of the Advanced Coding system.

Arts Code:


- Fixed certain texts regarding the Arts Code conditions.
- Fixed the issue where the direction pad gets uncontrollable after deleting an Arts Code.
- Fixed the issue where an application error occurs when editing the storage of the Arts Code under certain occasions.
- Fixed the issue where the pre-set number of the Arts Code changes unintentionally.
- Fixed the issue where a message window pops up unintentionally after the player cancels deleting a Segment.
- Fixed the issue where players will not be able to change their weapons after certain controls in the Records Menu.
- Fixed the issue where the combat Skill "Beast's Bellow" was un-recordable.

Others:


- Fixed other minor bugs and issues.

The Ver1.03 patch improved the contents listed below, but we will continue our support to implement more improvements in the upcoming updates.

- After Chapter 1 is completed, costumes worn by the residence in the Underword will be unlocked in the Visualize Attire (Total of 18 costumes for male characters, and 33 costumes for female characters. Costumes can be worn by Kirito and Eugeo).

Thank you for playing SWORD ART ONLINE Alicization Lycoris.

The latest patch “Ver1.01a” for the STEAM platform has been released. Please see below for details.

PC Controls



  • Cameras can now be controlled without pressing the right click button.
  • Actions such as "sitting" and "holding your partner in your arms" can now be canceled by pressing "Enter" key.
  • Swimming can now be triggered and cancelled by pressing "R" key.


Online Multiplayer



  • Players with a low progress of the main quest will not match with players with a higher progress, and the progress will not be affected by the host player.


Main quests


Chapter 1: “First Real Fight”:
On some occasions, the player had a chance of not being able to progress through the event after they talk to Ronie and Tiese. Now players would be able to talk to Ronie or Tiese again even if they saved and returned to the title screen after only talking to one of the characters.

Dear Sword Art Online fans,

Thank you for playing SWORD ART ONLINE Alicization Lycoris.

There may be some cases where the game may not function properly under certain environments and/or hardware combinations.

We are aware of several bugs and errors that exist in SWORD ART ONLINE Alicization Lycoris Ver 1.01. We have been making note of these issues and are looking into solutions to improve gameplay as quickly as possible.

■ Common to all platforms (PlayStation®4/Xbox One/STEAM®)

① The game has a chance to freeze or get stuck in the below conditions:
- Main quests:
Chapter 1: Heading to the 100th floor form the 95th floor in the Central Cathedral
Chapter 1: “Labyrinth of Memories”
Chapter 1: “All That You Can Be” event (Sadore’s event)
Chapter1: “First Real Fight” On some occasions, the player cannot progress through the event after they talk to Ronie and Tiese.
Chapter 2: An event heading to the Sustira Village in the Sothercrois.
Chapter 3: “Clamp Cluster” event

- Others:
Partner characters will trigger an event that prohibits the player to go beyond the playable area, and will repeat labeling the same text.
*Planned timing for fix: Late July
*For temporary solutions to prevent these issues, please read the “Solutions” below:

② Players clipping through environments or falling through the map.
- When the player is not targeted by the enemy, select [MAP] > [Fast Travel] and transport to a near location.
- When the player is targeted by the enemy, you cannot use [Fast Travel], thus you will have to restart the application.
- When a partner character is stuck in the map and not clipping through the environment, you can switch to that character which will then teleport them to their usual location.
*Planned timing for fix: Late July

③ Choosing online multiplayer will change the progress of the main quest.
- When the host of the party is further into the main quest than other party members, the party member(s) has a chance for the progress of their main quest to change.

If the progress of the main quest shown in your game is further than it was previously, please do not save the game and restart your application.
*Moving to another area will save the game, thus we do not recommend doing this if the progress of your main quest has changed after playing online multiplayer.
*Please note that if you happen to save the game, you will have to load from the chapter save data.

*Temporary solution: Please only play the online multiplayer mode after completing the main game or please wait for the release of the patch planned for late July.

*Temporary solution: Turning the Vertical Synchronizing signal off from selecting [Graphics Settings] in the title screen will improve the loading time. However, this solution may cause other issues so please save the game occasionally.

⑩ Mouse/Key controls
Cameras will be controllable without holding down the right click button.

*For ⑨ and ⑩, we are planning to improve these issues in future updates.
*Planned timing for fix: Late July.

Solutions



Chapter 1: Heading to the 100th floor from the 95th floor in the Central Cathedral

[Details]
At the 95th floor, if the player dodges on the stairs down to the 93rd floor, they will be able to access the 93rd floor which is usually blocked. The player will not be able to return to the 95th floor which causes a soft lock in the game.

[Temporary Solutions]
- Do not dodge near the stairs in the 95th floor.
- If you accidentally went back to the 93rd floor, please go back to the title menu and load the game from the latest chapter.

Chapter 1: “Labyrinth of Memories”

[Details]
Players have been unable to go down to the 90th floor from the 95th floor, being blocked by an invisible wall.

[Temporary Solution]
- Use quick moves such as the sword skill “Sonic Leap”, or dodging. This can sometimes allow the player to bypass the issue and go down to the 90th floor.

Chapter 1: “All That You Can Be” event (Sadore’s event)

[Details]
If the player accepts the service quest “Marriage Mishap”, during the “All That You Can Be” event, the player will get stuck when moving to Sadore’s shop while being told to go to Abyssena’s shop.

[Temporary Solutions]
- Do not accept the service quest
- If “Marriage Mishap” is already accepted, head to Abyssena’s shop before heading to Sadore’s shop

Chapter 1: “First Real Fight”

[Details]
During the event “First Real Fight”, the player cannot progress through the event after talking to Ronie and Tiese on some occasions.

[Temporary Solutions]
- After talking to Ronie or Tiese, talk to the other character without saving or loading.
*If this issue already occurred and you cannot proceed please wait until the release of the patch planned on late July.

Chapter 2: An event heading to Sustira Village in the Sothercrois.

[Details]
In Sustira Village, located in the Sothercrois, the main quest symbol disappears and soft locks the game.

[Temporary Solutions]
- As the destination is Sustira Village, the red “!” symbol can be seen in the World Map through the main menu over the Deusoldort Desert. When viewing the detailed map, the main quest symbol will be shown on the location of Sustira Village.
- Using the Carriage to transport to the Sothercrois may allow the main quest accessible.

Chapter 3: “Clamp Cluster” event

[Details]
After completing the “Clamp Cluster” event in Chapter 3, the player will not be able to proceed due to being blocked by an invisible wall even after the event starts.

[Temporary Solution]
- Please load the save data of chapter three from the [Load Chapter] in the title screen, and fight against the Clamp Cluster again.
When the event Chapter 3 event “Clamp Cluster” starts, only defeat the Clamp located in the Cordea Plains of Norlangarth.

Partner characters will trigger an event that prohibits the player to go beyond the playable area, and will repeat labeling the same text.

[Details]
During Chapter 2 in " Warmia Greenbelt" or " Williria Town ", where an NPC blocks the player to proceed any further, there is an issue that the same text continues to be stated by the Partner characters if they enter the blocked area.
In Chapter 2 during the event searching for the “Desertproof Cloak” in " Deusoldort Desert”, where an NPC blocks the player to proceed any further, there is an issue that the same text continues to be stated by the Partner characters if they enter the blocked area.

In Chapter 3 during the event of eliminating the “Clamp” in "Cordea Plains”, where an NPC blocks the player to proceed any further, there is an issue that the same text continues to be stated by the Partner characters if they enter the blocked area.

[Temporary Solution]
- When you have a partner walking with you, there is a high chance the partner will walk ahead of you, thus please stay away from NPCs blocking the path.
- When this issue occurs, please restart the application.
