Hey all, apologies for the huge delay in updating the game. This update required a rework to the entire combat system and player movement system, as well as a lot of other backend changes. We hope it's been worth the wait!

What's new?

  • Shifted movement mode to a far more performant network protocol (This was the main reason for this update's delayed release.)
  • Fixed jungle map lag
  • Added intro skip option in settings
  • Upgraded from UE4.25 to UE4.27
  • Fixed a lot of server-side and client-side crashes
  • Fixed ghost servers
  • Added throne room, sand pit and balcony map (Still undergoing internal testing, but will be enabled soon)
  • Kicking a player from a lobby now properly prevents them from rejoining, even with a VPN
  • Fixed an issue where rotating while sprinting would stop the sprint
  • Many, many more internal fixes to make content additions a lot more simple and bug-free in the future


Known Issues

  • Weapons do not persist in player's hands when changing map. Make sure to holster them!
  • Occasional movement jitter due to the new network protocol.
  • Occasionally, the regrow state of a weapon becomes desynced for a short period of time, which may allow players with a seemingly broken blade to still hit you.

Patch 1.2.6

Changes

Hey Gladiators!

It's update time! This patch fixes some minor annoyances and brings more optimisations to the game!

Changes

  • Further NetCode optimisations
  • Modifications to damage calculation on 1h Sword
  • Improved stab detection
  • Fixed a bug where the katana would instantly flip to face forward when unsheathed via the trigger button in the reverse grip pose
  • Katana will no longer block weapons while in the sheath
  • Tweaked katana damage calculation to only apply once the sheath is completely removed
  • Further map optimisations
  • Holding down both triggers while holding polearms will lock both hands in place

Soon has finally come!
The Update is finally here and the game is 50% off. So for those who don’t have it, there is no better time. Everyone spread word!

Patch/update time! Patch 1.0.7:

General:


- Tutorial added
- Discord poster added to locker room
- Mirror now has a physical button
- Minor network touch ups

Weapons:


- 2h weapons have better handling; rotation on full swings is fixed.
- Weapons have an easier time doing minimum damage
- War Axe regrow speed is faster
- Dagger does less stab damage to chest
- 2h sword sfx now starts later and finishes when weapon is regrown.

Patch 1.0.6

Patch/update time! Big change here and it may take you 15 minutes to adapt and get used to it. Patch 1.0.6:

General:


- Lobby Leader can kick players from any game mode
- Kick is now an IP ban and players cannot rejoin the session
- Implemented the right for full IP bans

Networking:


- Improved the readability of other player's movements in network play

Locker Room


- Changed the locker room sword machine to have better hit detection
- Weapon rack now has a big red button for opening/closing

Weapons:


- Weapons clean up/disappear faster when on the ground
- Optimized shatter effects to improve performance
- Weapons stop using physics after 3 seconds, additional damping as well
- Added sound that plays when the player achieves a successful parry against another weapon
- Changed the weapon handling to have a more weighted feel
- Increased the amount of time it takes to reactivate the player's weapons after stopping sprinting

Update 1.0.5

We’re excited to bring you all the patch notes for the first update of May! We’ve been working on fixes for the bugs you’ve reported and work is being done to balance and refine the game’s mechanics. Here are the patch notes for 1.0.5:

Patches



  • Small modifications under the hood of scoreboards
  • Additional swing and latency smoothing
  • Stopped servers shutting down in the middle of the night
  • Spectator character tweaks
  • Connection timeout timers have been doubled
  • Moving throwing range targets don’t get out of sync any more
  • Server browser menu will now timeout for 5 seconds after server connection failure
  • Kick player should now be working
  • Fixed a CTF bug where the flag wouldn’t get returned if picked up by a team member

Patch Notes for Hotfix 1.0.4

It’s been a while since we pushed our last patch update. We’ve been working on fixing a lot of the major bugs and we thank you all for your patience! This patch should fix a lot of the unexpected crashes and other various issues. Here are the notes for patch 1.0.4:

Patches



  • Fixed a bug with the flag not returning after being picked up by a member of the owning team
  • Fixed 7 separate crashes
  • Repaired damage tint
  • Fixed a bug where a player could strike both the head and body in the same frame
  • Fixed an issue with the flag capture that caused the flag to permanently disappear
  • Fixed issues with the flag’s physics
  • Players can no longer pick up their own team’s flag from their own base
  • Disabled the fish collision in the marketplace
  • Lobbies can now have odd numbers
  • Voice chat now works on Europe and Asia servers


Changes



  • Reduced dagger head strike damage
  • Reduced the damage of the battle axe
  • Increased the flag’s weight so the player is slower when carrying it
  • The flag will now always stand up straight
  • Players are no longer able to spawn with dual two handed weapons
  • Added correct player spawns and weapon spawns to marketplace
  • When holding a two handed weapon with one hand, your other weapons will be set as inactive.
