The main change in this build is the inclusion of various small spots around the map which will be gaining history and significance in future updates. For right now atleast they will add a bit more variety to the map. Expect to see more of these kinds of things in the future! :)
I have also upgraded the game engine version so hopefully that should help resolve some issues users are seeing.
Thanks for your time and playing the game! :)
Festive Updates - Due this weekend
Hey All,
Just to let you know I hope to release another few minor updates by Monday which will be purely superficial, it will contain lots of pumpkins, skulls, grave changes and spooky trees. After all it will be Halloween soon!
These will only appear in the game for a few weeks at which point everything will revert back to normal, well almost everything hehe.
So the first update will be going live in a half hour and with this update the graveyards will change more visually as more people are buried there. The soil will change and the trees and roses will die. I personally rather like this one visually so it may stay in the game long term.
Anyways hopefully you will enjoy this update. Thanks again for playing!
A new Update - Graveyard UI
Hey All!
Another new update will be going live in a few minutes. This update contains a UI update for the graveyards. The graveyards are now clickable and they will bring up a UI showing a list of how many people are buried here and of what gender/age. In time this aspect will be built on more, but for now the next few updates will concentrate on other features in the game.
Thanks again for playing! :)
Update 0.46a - What's New?
Hey All!
Sorry for the delay getting this latest update out to you but hopefully I can become more frequent with my updates going forward. Having started a new job with a daily commute, it took some getting used to.
So what can you expect in this update?
Updated to the latest version of Unity.
There is a new graveyards tile associated with each location, it will grow in size as the game progresses and more people die at these locations.
Another attempt at fixes the armies getting stuck. I rewrote a lot of code and hope this resolves the issue.
Fixed a rare but potential crash when armies meet while mid siege.
Fixed various other minor issues to do with UI alignment.
I hope to release another update within the next week which allows users to click the graveyards and show a simple UI detailing all who are buried there.
Now you may ask why I am adding in Graveyard tiles, well with Halloween approaching I thought it would be nice and festive. I also like the idea of exploring grave robbing in future and the possibility of royal burials at certain tiles, where you can run actions against in hope of buried treasure. This update is the first step towards grave robbing / tomb exploring.
Thanks again to all those who have purchased the game! :)
Next update - what to expect?
Hello Everyone!
So I just wanted to make you aware of what to expect with the next update for the game. In this I hope to do 2 things.
Finish the new graveyards features.
Fix the armies getting stuck issues.
As I have recently learned the armies getting stuck issue is still present sadly, so I will try to address this in the next update.
Thanks again everyone for trying out Tales of a Spymaster and hopefully in time with a lot of extra content and fixes it will become a great game 😊
Update 0.46 Incoming - Big Stability Improvements and Bug Fixes! :)
Hey All,
You will all be happy to hear I am releasing a new update in the coming hour which focuses purely on bug fixes and fixes for crashes which users have been encountering.
Fixes
Linux - Crashes when failing to call the Steam API or missing dll
Crash when going to events and certain conditions are met
Crash during startup of campaign when assigning faction
Crash when failing to put camera over location
Crash when the rain is starting
Crash at end of turn and a certain combination of actions are queued up
Crash when advising action to a dead king before new one is appointed
Crash when king dies mid negotiation of peace/trust
Crash when granting a certain achievement
Crash when going through the resolutions
Crash when fetching the save files
Crash when getting detailed info on a family member
Crash when failing to load a localized piece of text for the UI
Crash when creating a mercenary action
Crash when assigning location names during startup
Crash when triggering a revenge fund
Please note, some of these have the root cause of the crash fixed and others merely are a fix for the crash itself but the underlying problem still exists and I am in the process of fixing them.
Hopefully this update will bring a lot of long term stability to the game anyways for everyone :)
Update Live!
Hey All!
Been a bit since my last post but I have been busy with this latest update and hopefully it is an important one for a number of you.
Features
Added name tiles beside every location also saying the known population there.
Added a new option to control the game audio level in the game options
Updated to a newer version of Unity, hopefully resolving various issues.
Added back support for the launch screen dialog, if the user holds alt.
Bugs
When someone become a traitor, their loyalty was not updating.
I shall keep the update coming slowly but surely! :)
Thanks again for trying the game out and reporting any issues you see.
Next Update - What to expect, any thoughts?
Hey All!
I have got a lot of suggestions from players for features they would like to see. I am more than happy to try address all of these suggestions and with the next update I hope to address 2 in particular.
Master volume control from main menu settings and in game options
Tile identifiers for locations
Now that second item may be something new to some of you but very important to others. The approach I am taking can be seen below:
I am thinking of adding these tiles to every location in the map. That way you can see the name and general idea of the population size without having to click a location.
Anything about it you would like me to change? :)
Thanks for all your feedback!
Update Going Live!

Make sure to keep those requests and general bug reports coming. I shall fix everything I can as soon as I can :)
