Telefrag VR is available now! Let's get to fraggin'!
Gladiators, the wait is over!
Telefrag VR is now available on Steam Store, Oculus Store, and PlayStation Store. Make sure you have what it takes to become a space gladiator. Prepare your VR headset and one of the supported controllers (from Touch Controllers to 3dRudder and PS Aim (coming soon)!) In case if you still wondering, here's the new Telefrag VR Launch Trailer. Check it out! :)
For those who are not following our news, here's the short brief, what are the core features of the game.
Telefrag VR is set in an alternative universe where the Roman Empire never collapsed and instead consolidated its power on earth and continued to expand into outer space. The conquering of new systems and races, and development of new technologies ushered in a new era of gladiator battles.
• Loadout Management – Players have a chance to utilize different loadouts, each containing two weapons. Every weapon features two firing modes and a unique teleportation attack.
• Teleport Attacks and Telefrags – Teleporting allows players’ contact weapons to inflict “Melee Damage” as they shift from one point of the arena to the next, adding an extra layer to the standard teleport mechanic used in VR.
• Guns – Projectile weapons inflict “Ranged Damage” upon the target. The game features well-known classic arena shooter weapons.
• Fast-Paced matches – You have two different locomotion types at your disposal. Get comfortable with dash movement or experience, why gladiatorial battles are reserved for the most persistent ones in the free locomotion.
• Impossible Spaces – Walkable surfaces can be placed regardless of gravity, allowing the player to travel on any designated surface regardless of its rotation and position relative to the “real” floor. This enables multiple angles of attacks and passages through play space, and as a result a fresh take on competitive level design.
• Arena Game Mode – A 1v1 gameplay mode where the player enters an arena with 5 weapons ready to pick. Choose two of them to compose the best loadout. We put in your hands (both hands actually) a full arsenal of destruction, inspired by the legendary tools of extermination from the classic 90's FPS games.

Set in an alternative universe where the Roman Empire never collapsed, you step into the shoes of a new breed of a gladiator on the road to becoming a champion. Use your speed, accuracy, and wits to outmaneuver and defeat your enemies, crushing them beneath your feet. Telefrag VR is coming to Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, WMR, and PlayStation VR this summer.
We're more than happy to show you 5th map from Telefrag VR - Six Leagues Under. So far you had the chance to visit the monument of old times - The Fallen Champion, The Mobius Villa - based on classic Roman architecture, swampy area - The Lazarus Grotto and closed, industrial map - The Imperial Shipyard.
Today we go deep into the ground!
THE SIX LEAGUES UNDER
Dirty, forgotten underground corridors no longer meet their original function. Overgrown with mushrooms, moss and twisting roots, the catacombs gained disgrace in the Empire. This arena is not the most pleasant, but for the gladiators fighting for their glory, the visual layer goes to the background. All you need is a victory. Let us describe the most exciting sections of The Six Leagues Under.
You can map the arena on the wheel plan. The main level of the platform is a long, curved path where you will find various health pickups, along with the armor pickup belt, which is hidden behind a central platform. You can access this platform only by using the teleport gun. From the central platform, it's easy to get to the other levels, which of course, as befits futuristic arena, are turned 180 degrees apart from each other. It's easy to get confused out there.
A rock cliff (with characteristically twisted roots) deserves a lot of attention. It opens up four different platforms that you can get to. This is a turning point on the map where you can surprise the enemy and change your attack path. Remember, however, that you can also access more places thanks to teleporting gates, so remember our words. There are no dead ends on Six Leagues Under. Always be on guard, because you can have an enemy on your back!
What weapons do we recommend at Six Leagues Under? Above all, Flak Cannon should be in your inventory with the Sticky Shells firing mode enabled. It can be deployed in places where the player can ultimately be spawned. Especially teleporting above, you don't know what is waiting for you. We discourage Laser Pistol because there is too much of a risk of missing shots unless you count on luck and ricocheting, after bouncing off the rocks.
How do you rate the latest map? Feel free to share your thoughts about the catacombs in the comment section!

This week we want to take a closer look at another weapon from the available arsenal that awaits you in Telefrag VR. As you all know, long-distance heavy caliber isn't always the most effective choice. Especially in a place where there is little space to fight, or no chance to lead a successful attack, because you must first think about how to avoid an upcoming cannonade. The Particle Cannon could be a perfect choice then. A small, malicious abcess, which you should consider if you like to derange the opponent.
INTRODUCING THE PARTICLE CANNON
"The weapon shoots a straight, continuous lightning bolt punishing back anyone foolish enough to stand out in the open. Come in too close, and the alternative mode will snap and follow you. You can thank q3a's lightning gun for that treatment."
This is what makes Particle Cannon very useful. What can irritate more than a continuous bunch of electrical bolts that unscrupulously reduce your health to none? If you find yourself in a similar situation, remember to use the Teleport Attack to change the location on the map or quickly look for a health pickup nearby.
The Particle Cannon impresses with its appearance. It may not be as tasteful as The Laser Pistol, but nothing is better than golden decor on white elements of the weapon forearm. The burnt muzzle adds the only charm and reminds you that this nonpareil can be devastating.
Particle Cannon is a choice for anyone brave enough to get close enough to the enemy. I mean very close. Short range is undoubtedly the biggest disadvantage. Let us know what you think about the new weapon in the comments.

The Art of Telefrag VR - Digital Artbook is coming soon!
The Art of Telefrag VR is coming soon on Steam! In the digital Telefrag VR artbook we will show you how our dev team drew inspiration from various visual styles to combine science fiction with ancient Roman influences.
"Telefrag VR is also a love letter to the arena shooters of old. Games in that vein featured futuristic, impossible levels that mixed a lot of themes. We aimed to replicate that same feeling, but on our own terms. A VR game with truly otherworldly visuals."
The more than 60-page artbook contains unpublished concepts of characters, weapons, as well as maps, which from the course of time evolved from the initial assumptions to the final version. You can also take a sight at the elements of the environment that are not officially in the game.
The artbook will be available on the day of the game's release. Stay tuned for more details!

3dRudder - Foot motion controller is available now
Hi there,
In case you missed it, today 3dRudder, the motion controller for PC & PS VR games, makes its debut! Check out how you can immerse yourself even more in virtual reality, using this device.
"The 3dRudder for PlayStation VR enables full freedom of movement and full motion control. While seated, place your feet on the 3dRudder and tilt your feet in the direction you want to move: control your movement speed with the angle you tilt the controller, stop and turn in an instant."
Telefrag VR is one of the upcoming games, that will feature full 3dRudder support. Soon we'll show you how you can use the device to be even more effective during the battlefield, choosing dash or smooth locomotion. You can find more details about 3dRudder under the following link:
It's finally time to reveal our fourth map, that will appear in Telefrag VR. So far, you had the chance to visit the monument of old times - The Fallen Champion, as well as The Mobius Villa - based on classic Roman architecture. Two weeks ago, we switched the angle to another planet in the universe. The Lazarus Grotto doesn't look like a holiday resort. Swamps effectively deter unauthorized guests.
THE IMPERIAL SHIPYARD
The shipyard is overwhelming with its industrial character. You will not find here anything but big cylinders, metal stairs and corridors winding along pipes and other raw materials. The enclosed area is isolated from the sunlight, which should alert you and make you more cautious when crossing the map.
The most critical spots include a sloping platform in the distance, which in its position seems to be the perfect passage to the next level. However, its open nature means that you can quickly become a target. Another bottleneck is the corridor, with path crossing in different directions and orientation towards the earth.
Mega health is located on the highest level of construction. You can get there thanks to the previously mentioned places, or using small gaps between the walls and ceilings. Teleport orb does not need much space, which means you can quickly disappear from the enemy's sight for a short time.
Especially Flak Cannon and Particle Cannon could be useful in the Imperial Shipyard. You will not find many opportunities to fight for a long distance here.
How do you rate the latest map? Feel free to share your thoughts about the shipyard in the comment section!

Puke or not to puke - Get comfortable with these settings
Comfort in VR is undoubtedly a thing that every developer has to take care of, so that the game can be not only exciting but also does not cause motion sickness.
Many of you can remember, what gameplay our previous VR game, Detached, offered. Space survival allowed to move in all axes in a state of weightlessness. What could cause full freedom in 360 degrees? Just look at the gif below :)
Of course, such sensations were only possible in the hardcore steering mode, with the assistants turned off. Despite everything, we took your feedback after the last game, pre-alpha and open beta phase of Telefrag development. What comfort setting did we prepare in Telefrag VR?
First of all, creating a VR game requires a lot of restrictions. We had to keep in mind that spatial immersion has to be preserved as much as possible, without decreasing extreme sensations during the game. Telefrag VR had to be adapted to play in at least 60 frames per second, and the user interface had to be part of the virtual world. The gameplay is fast-paced, so any frame drops can cause a distraction. The player must be able to look around even in the game menu, waiting for a match to start.
Thanks to Detached, we understand the motion sickness problem very well. Based on these experiences, we decided to implement in Telefrag VR the so-called dash movement, which aims to reduce the problem, while maintaining the dynamics of the game, which is our priority. However, during the Open Beta on Steam, the player indicated that they expect us to add smooth-locomotion as an alternative. The request for smooth locomotion came from players who could be assigned to a group of hardcore players.
Besides, standard controls are waiting for players to adjust, such as rotation angle and speed, as well as well-known blinders that reduce the field of view with a vignette during the most intense moments in the game.
If you have any questions about the game comfort, feel free to ask our dev team here on Steam or our Discord!

So far, we shared more details about Telefrag VR's powerful weapons: Rocket Launcher, Flak Cannon, and Plasma Rifle. Each weapon has its advantages and disadvantages, but one thing is sure. Firing a bunch of missiles or full-auto spread will not give you the satisfaction of getting a perfect headshot with The Laser Pistol! Meet the tiny but powerful weapon that gladiators will master during the deadly games in the futuristic vision of the Empire.
INTRODUCING THE LASER PISTOL
The aim, pull the trigger, watch your enemy explode from across the map. Precision is the name of the game when it comes to the laser pistol. For a weapon that fires a ricocheting beam that deals enormous amounts of damage, we wanted the look to be lean, mean, and somewhat sophisticated.
The Laser Pistol captivates with fancy engravings both the handle and the metal parts that run from the trigger guard to the slide. Like every weapon in Telefrag, this gun also has a display, informing about the current ammo and mag and the enabled firing mode. Remember, you also have a teleport attack ready to use.
Surprise your opponent or change position on the map instantly. Like Desert Eagle in modern FPS, the Laser does not forgive mistakes, but perfect aiming rewards you with high damage points when the well-targeted bullet hits an opponent. Besides, laser beams can bounce off the walls, so you're able to hit the enemy, hiding around the corner.
It seems to us that a weapon will find many fans, not only as a secondary weapon. Let us know what you think about the new weapon in the comments! You can read more about other weapons in the article: Classic FPS DNA - Part One: Guns, Big F#cking Guns.
