Preview: Immortal in the Arena

The 64-bit overhaul of TERA has only just arrived, and yet patch 98 is already in the starting blocks – with the new Forbidden Arena fighters Immortalis and Aeternia, the return of Kezzel’s Gorge, and new jewelry!

Fierce Brawlers

At item level 480, the new dungeon (Immortalis) Forbidden Arena will really put you through your paces – Killian’s champion Immortalis is a Brawler of distinction and will relentlessly pummel you with his fists. His kicks pack quite a punch too, so watch out!
The (Aeternia) Forbidden Arena, designed for item level 461, is also available 5 times a week in normal mode (10 times for Club members).

Kezzel’s Gorge

Kezzel’s Gorge is reopening its gates for a limited time. The dungeon has been redesigned for 5-player groups – it previously challenged a whole 7 players. You’ll need an item level of at least 452, and you’ll have 40 weekly entries available to you to grind this stone giant to rubble. Can you defeat him or will he stomp you into the ground?

New Jewelry

New rings and necklaces were added for you to loot a few patches ago. This new update is now bringing the matching earrings and circlets.
You can pick up the new Strength and Power Fidelity Earrings and the Fidelity Circlet in the new Forbidden Arena. Once again, there are also new options and Talent Stones for infusing options.

Other Changes

As usual, this patch also brings with it an array of minor changes, which you can read about in the patch notes. Among other things, you can look forward to expanded broker options allowing you to search for specific options, special costumes and partners as loot in selected dungeons, and the new training dungeon for Bahaar’s Sanctum.

Preview: Forbidden Arena

As part of the next update, you’ll face champions from Killian’s amusement arenas once again. The sinister Forbidden Arena [Aeternia/Immortalis] is where the god would revel in watching bloody spectacles. Fighters competing here did so of their own free will – for the blood lust and the infinite fame of being champion. Killian drew so much power from the brutal fighting and the raging crowd of spectators that other gods felt threatened. So they asked Lok to seal the arena with his power.

Since the Second War of the Gods, the seal held the last arena champions captive. Owing to Exodor’s Dark Core Energy, however, the Seal was weakened. Killian was able to free his champions and now Aeternia and Immortalis are thirsting for new bloody battles.

Killian’s Champions

Aeternia and Immortalis are eternally raging, tireless Brawlers. The arena champions will hustle you with fists and targeted kicks just for the sake of it. Don’t get hit or their dark aura will consume your health and mana. Challenge the immortal fighters and loot their treasures: new earrings and circlets, rare or legendary Exodor equipment, feedstock, underwear, skill advancement XP and lots more!

Forbidden Arena [Aeternia/Immortalis] (Normal)

* For 5-player groups from item level 461

* Teleportal in Thunder Hold, Elenea

* 5 entries per week (10 for Club members)

* Accessible from level 70

* Can be entered via group matching

* Entry costs 220 Adventure Coins

Forbidden Arena [Aeternia/Immortalis] (Hard)

* For 5-player groups from item level 480

* Teleportal in Thunder Hold, Elenea

* 5 entries per week (10 for Club members)

* Accessible from level 70

* Can be entered via group matching

TERA Battle Arena: Modes, Gameplay and more!

**Story Mode**: In the story mode, guardians can experience previously unseen events from Arborea’s past and future.

**Battle Mode:** In Battle Mode, guardians can fight against other guardians in PvP to acquire Tower Fragments that have been turned into coins.

**Gameplay**: After matchmaking to enter the arena, 12 players choose their heroes.
The same heroes cannot be selected twice within a group. If players don’t choose a hero within the allotted time, they are assigned at random.
Once the battle has started, various items will appear at certain intervals.
• Their position is displayed on the mini-map.

The first group to loot 300 gold coins from monsters puts the game into overtime.
• Overtime lasts 3 minutes, after which time the group with the most gold coins wins!
After 30 minutes, the Battle Arena comes to an end and each group’s rank is determined by the amount of gold coins looted.

64-bit Update is Now Live!

Hang on to your Bits

The 64-bit TERA client update is here at last! This update has been long in waiting for both players and the TERA dev team. For more on what ‘64-bit’ means for TERA’s present and future content, read last week’s preview post and the June developer note about the new client.

In short, the 64-bit upgrade changes some fundamental aspects of the TERA client and how it utilizes your system’s hardware. Breaking free from a 32-bit system means overall smoother gameplay, less crashes in crowded areas, and updated minimum system requirements.

Enter the Commander's Residence

Commander’s Residence is a weekend-only dungeon available between Friday (00:00 UTC) and Sunday (23:59 UTC) for heroes looking for a rare challenge. This top-tier 20-person raid will test your limits against the dreaded First Corps Commander, Maknakh.

Dungeon details are listed in the patch notes. There are some additional restrictions and requirements to read about before you attempt to pay Commander’s Residence a visit. Good luck!

Return to Rift's Edge

Rift’s Edge is back! Previously a 7-player raid, this revamped Rift’s Edge is a 5-player dungeon for players over Lv68 and iLv 452 looking to score some Dark Shard feedstock, Zenobia’s Breeze Crates, and a hoard of other gear and materials. See this update’s full patch notes for the whole list.

Rampaging RK-9 Kennel

RK-9 Kennel makes its return with a few upgrades. Like Rift’s Edge, this revamped Rampaging RK-9 Kennel has a few surprises in store. Boss fights will be more intense than the original RK-9 Kennel, but the rewards are worth the challenge!

Players Lv 70 and iLv 461 enter at your own risk if you’re hunting for Exodor Gear.

Mount Collector's Card Event

A special card collection event is underway! Similar to the Courageous Card Event held in April, the new Mount Collector’s Card Event is the perfect way to beef up your card collection while tackling dungeon-based Vanguard Requests (excluding Rift's Edge & Commander's Residence).

The event will add new mount-themed cards to the mix, giving experienced collectors something fresh for their binders. Read this forum post for info!

TERA Battle Arena Coming Soon

TERA Battle Arena is a team-based battle (available as a free download for your TERA client this fall) featuring heroes drawn from the past, present, and future history of TERA.

After the defeat of Shandra Manaya, strange portals appeared across the world, offering glimpses of other realms where dead heroes lived on, live heroes fell into darkness, and heroes that never were stepped up to save the world.

To learn more about these strange visions of alternate realities, a group of heroes fought their way through to a new realm called Agaia, where they encountered eerie replicas of themselves from worlds almost, but not quite the same as their own.

In this twisted underworld stands a majestic structure known only as the Tower of Shara, an architectural wonder defended by even more familiar faces. Only this time, they’re ones corrupted and controlled by the mysterious…Manahan?

The heroes you’ll control in TERA Battle Arena each have their own skill sets and abilities, drawn from those TERA players have spent years mastering. Players will also be able to customize their heroes with runes and cosmetic items.

We’ll be revealing more about this great new game mode as the summer moves on.
