TERA’s popular Summer Festival begins Tuesday, July 21, with the annual reunion of the Consos Clan in Balder’s Refuge for the Festival of the Sun.
Part 1: Festival of the Sun (Tuesday, July 21 – Tuesday, August 11)
Journey to the Temple of the Sun in Balder's Refuge and help the Consos Clan priests get their temple back in order (Festival of the Sun events and quests are for characters level 58 and higher).
Fight off the Monsters Your first step on the festival quest sends you through the many rooms of the Temple of the Sun, clearing out the vermin that have moved in since last year.
Temple Cleanup Once that's done, you're tasked with helping clean up their mess: Droppings, garbage, and graffiti are all fair game for this group of daily quests. Help the Temple of the Sun shine the way it was always meant to!
Of course, the Festival of the Sun’s daily quests are randomized, so you won’t know what you’re in for on any given day until you log in. To maximize your event rewards, check back every day and complete all the quests!
Ice Treats If all that work gets you ready to cool off with a snack, you're in luck—You can make yourself a sweet iced dessert by collecting ingredients around the festival site.
As the Festival of the Sun comes to a close, the second part of the celebration begins on the sunny shores of Ostgarath.
Part 2: The Beach Bash (Tuesday, August 11 – Tuesday, September 1)
The Castanica Beach Bash is located on Dragonturtle Beach and Kerozen Isle, along the coast of Ostgarath just north of Castanica. Talk to mini-game coordinators to play these exciting mini-games:
Splash Cannon Mini-Game Speak to the mini-game coordinator, then shoot water at the demons out in the surf for points: red sea monsters give you points, blue sea monsters cost you points.
Watermelon Mini-Game Tie on a blindfold and get to smashing watermelons. Don’t confuse them with the barrels, though—they sound just like the watermelons, but don’t give you any points.
Sandcastles Collect sand from around the beach and build as many sandcastles as you can. Build enough, and you can get magic items that let you build sandcastles anywhere—whenever you like.
While the mini-games and sandcastles are available to all levels, quests associated with the beach party are only available to characters level 48 and higher, so level up quick to be sure you don’t miss out on any of the fun (or rewards)!
Each event that you complete at the Festival of the Sun or the Beach Bash rewards you with tokens redeemable for a variety of costumes, consumables, service vouchers, and more throughout both halves of the festival.
The Summer Festival ends September 1, so get out there and make the most of the summer while it lasts!
PATCH FOR 64BIT CLIENT - PUBLIC TEST STARTS FRIDAY!
Preparations for patch 97 are ongoing - and now you can participate too! To add as many different PC configurations as possible to this test, every TERA player is welcome to get onto our public test system and start the new 64bit client for the first time.
The public test server "Atmorph" will start being accessible on Friday, July 24th, at around 6:00pm (CEST). It is scheduled to be closed down for the public on Tuesday, July 28th (13:00 CEST). An exact time will be provided later.
You want to participate? Here's how:
You need to have TERA on Steam Right-Click on TERA in your Library Select "Properties", then "Betas" Select "public_beta" from the drop-down present here A couple of important notices to consider:
The patch from "Live" to "Public_beta" is roughly 34 GB in download size The complete download/client size of patch 97 is 65 GB (for those that don't have a live TERA installed on Steam) What is expected of me?
Any feedback you have regarding the performance or stability of the client should be posted in our forum: PTS Feedback
Please include as many details as you can, including thing such as:
o Time when the issue occurred
o Location in-game / last action you took
o Status of your character (in combat / in-group / in PvP / standing in the open world / etc)
o Your PC configuration (mainly what type of CPU and GPU, RAM details, HDD/SSD, Operating System)
Frequently Asked Questions
1. I play via Steam already, can I participate?
Every TERA player can participate, including existing Steam players. Please note, that you will require to download roughly 34 GB again to switch back to your LIVE client. It is impossible to have two separate installations through Steam.
2. I play via the Gameforge Client, can I participate?
Yes! As a GF Client player, you will require to download the complete TERA Public_Beta client on steam (~65 GB) but can have your live client installed in the GF Client, and in parallel keep the public_beta installed in steam!
3. Do I need to start a new character on the Test System?
You will be required to create a character on the test system, as live characters aren't copied to it. On the plus side, new characters will start on level 70 and in Highwatch, equipped with a variety of items and tokens to get you started as if you'd been playing there for years!
4. I encountered an issue on the PTS, what can I do?
We won't provide customer support for issues on the PTS, including, but not limited to, issues around your character, items, or the server itself. Please do not contact our customer support for any PTS-inquiries, as no support can be provided. Instead please make sure to report your findings in the special forum section, as detailed above.
5. Any known issues I should be aware of?
The client used for this test is not the final version and thus might still have a plethora of unknown issues. Due to the nature of this test, the server might be unavailable sporadically, or for a prolonged period of time.
6. What content is in Patch 97?
For a general overview, please have a look into our Patch Preview we released Preview:
Outside of this game-related content, please note that in this client version, not all languages might be fully applied, or wordings for items, regions, or other content can change before the final patch.
7. There are two servers, but I can't access them?
Only the test system "W2 Atmorph (Beta)" is open to the public. If you cannot access this world, please double-check if your client is patched correctly. Alternatively, it could be that the server is overflowing with players in the worst-case scenario, and you will need to wait for a little.
The system "W1 Baldrov (internal)" is not intended for public access.
8. Why is X or Y missing?
This test system might not contain all the settings we're used to on the live servers. This includes, but is not limited to, events, token and NPC stores, dungeon drops, or similar.
Preview: TERA Goes 64-bit
The latest update is just around the corner and sees TERA migrate from a 32-bit to a 64-bit client, massively improving game stability. It also introduces a new raid dungeon for 20 players, an overhaul to the RK-9 Kennel, plus loads of other changes, all coming at the beginning of August.
New System Requirements
The most important news first – with the switch to a 64-bit game client, the system requirements will change, in particular as 32-bit systems will no longer be supported. The recommended system requirements change as follows with patch 97:
Improvements in a Nutshell
The main advantages of the new client are:
The 64-bit client allows more than 4 GB of RAM to be accessed
The vast majority of RAM client crashes should thus become a thing of the past!
DirectX 11
Graphics can be rendered by multiple processor cores, which will improve game performance and stability
Asynchronous loading
Various elements in TERA will now load independently of one another
For example, there should no longer be brief freezes while interface elements load (e.g. when you open your inventory)
These are just a few of the things improved with the new client. Various other changes large and small should improve both performance and stability.
Mahrnak – The Primus
With the new 64-bit client making it easier than ever to display multiple effects and players on screen at once, why not take the game straight to task and explore a new 20-player dungeon. Mahrnak is waiting for your challenge once per week (2x for Club members) in the Commander’s Residence. Entry costs 300 adventure coins and is only possible on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays (always from midnight to 11:59 PM CEST).
Look forward to new rewards including brooch etchings (level II or IV) and scrolls for altering the options on your gear!
New RK-9 Kennel (Hard)
In addition to the new 20-player raid dungeon, the RK-9 Kennel gets an overhaul as a returning hard dungeon, with one entry daily (2x for Club members)!
Assemble your star group of 5 players and take down Ventarun, Hexapleon and the raging RK-9! Again you can get your hands on etchings and option scrolls for your troubles.
Other Changes

Event: Battle Pass – Season 5
The Battle Pass Event continues into the next round! Complete missions, fill your Battle Pass and unlock different reward levels – earn recognition for your dungeon runs, battlegrounds, cooking and other skills in this event.
Complete different missions each day and earn Battle Points in reward. You can take your BP to Master Iaito in Highwatch and exchange them for ever better reward chests, up to the fabulous Ultimate Chest.
Whoever successfully completes the season will get a Divine Judgment Potion from the final rewards chest. This can be used repeatedly for 30 days to produce a magical glow effect around you.
Event Period
Start: 21st July at 10:00 AM Ends: 18th August at 10:00 AM
Starting Missions
Each day you’ll receive a mission briefing one minute after logging in for the first time. This will contain 4 random dungeon missions, one random solo mission, one crafting mission, plus a ticket for a battleground or dungeon mission of your choice. Each mission is embodied by an item in your inventory which will remain in your possession for up to 12 hours. You can receive additional missions at the weekend for your time online; during the week you’ll receive extra Battle Points instead.
Completing Missions
To complete a dungeon mission, you require a token from the respective dungeon. Each final boss will drop one token per party member, i.e. you’ll need to complete the dungeon just once. Collect your token from the boss and then right-click to complete the mission. You’ll earn BP in reward. The same applies for battleground missions.
Solo missions can be completed in the same way. In this case, however, you earn the tokens from Vanguard Initiative quests instead of from the dungeon boss.
Right-clicking on crafting missions opens a window in which you’ll need to drag the amount of silex, meals or plates. Once you’ve done that, the mission will be complete and you’ll receive your BP.
Rewards
The BP you earn can be converted into reward chests from Iaito in Highwatch. Each chest (with exception of the Ultimate Chest) contains a reward and returns the BP used to open it. That means your BP level remains unchanged and you don’t have to start back from scratch after each chest. You can only receive each chest once.
Iaito also has a selection of golden reward chests available. These work exactly the same as the regular reward chests, except that you need a [Battle Pass] Gold Key from the TERA Shop to open them. This key will open all the golden reward chests without being consumed, so you only need the one key to open all the chests.
Once you’ve collected all the rewards, you can convert your BP into an Ultimate Key, unlocking further bonuses. More details can be found further below.
You can still receive bonus rewards after opening all the reward chests by converting your BP into an Ultimate Key. This can be used to open Ultimate Chests which Iaito will give you for 1,000 BP.
Just like the Gold Key, the Ultimate Key is not consumed on use, so you can continue opening chests as long as you have enough BP. Each Ultimate Chest contains 100 Ultimate Coupons which can be exchanged for awesome bonus rewards. Owners of a Gold Key get an extra bonus, as they can also open the box inside each Ultimate Chest containing another 100 coupons.
If you convert your BP into an Ultimate Key too early – meaning that Iaito still has unopened reward chests for you – he can give you a Key Grinder which will break your Ultimate Key back down into the full amount of BP.
Event Items in the Tikat Shop
If you want to make the most of the event, you can visit the Tikat Shop and buy 300 BP or [Battle Pass] Selection Dungeon Tickets to get more missions to complete.
Note * The items belonging to the current season will be deleted before the next season starts, so please use them before this time. This does not affect rewards received (e.g. Ultimate Coupons).
Event: Seashells on the Seashore
Are they buried in the sand? Lurking in the rock pools? Or being carried around in bosses’ pockets? Just where do you find the prettiest seashells? Hunt for Arborea’s seashells and upgrade them. With a bit of good fortune, you’ll get the brand-new Master Treasure Hunter outfit, protective coupons, Exodor Underwear or a fortune skill!
The best thing is – you get to decide how far to push the envelope and when you want to open the seashells to receive your reward. Simply use the runestones from the Vanguard Initiative merchants to combine multiple seashells of the same level into an arcane reliquary. You can find out how it works below. It’s also possible to skip multiple levels in one go when upgrading the seashells, getting you to the high quality shells even faster.
And to coincide with our event, you’ll find the Sand-Encrusted Argon Artifact and the Package: Shell Hunter available in the TERA Shop.
Have fun,
The TERA Team

It is even possible for levels to be skipped when upgrading. If a shell breaks, you have a few options: Reform a certain number of pieces back into a Seashell I Take your pieces to Scylla on Serpentis Isle and exchange them directly for smaller rewards

The new jewelry contains 3 random stats. The following are possible:
Physical/magic amplification

The Talent Stones have 5 stats each, 2 of which can be transferred to your ring or necklace at random. The possible stats correspond to those of the accessory.

Fidelity Ring Cube Place three rings in the mechanism to receive a new random Fidelity ring. Fidelity necklace cube Place 3 necklaces in the mechanism to receive a new random Fidelity necklace. These cubes can be purchased from Specialty Stores in the big cities.
Protective Voucher for Enchantment
After the update, you will be able to purchase protective vouchers from Mysterio, the dimension merchant, that will help you with the enchantment of your equipment.
There are Stat and Damage Protection Vouchers. There will be an additional UI area in the Enchant menu showing how many vouchers you need and what effect they will have.
The added vouchers will be consumed during enchantment whether they are needed or not. They only work for Legendary Annihilation or Dark Light gear, and Kaia’s Gear of Wisdom and Kaia’s Nightmare Gear. The vouchers have no effect on Eternal gear.
Stat Protection Voucher
30%, 50%, and 70% versions of the Stat Protection Voucher are available from Mysterio. If you use these vouchers during the enchantment, you will have a corresponding chance of your item not falling an enchantment level if the enchantment fails. You will need between 3 and 161 vouchers, depending on the item and enchantment level.
Damage Protection Voucher
30%, 50%, and 70% versions of the Damage Protection Voucher are available from Mysterio. If you use these vouchers during the enchantment, you will have a corresponding chance of your item not becoming damaged if the enchantment fails. You will need between 4 and 12 vouchers, depending on the item and enchantment level.
Trading with Mysterio
There is a set probability of dimension merchant Mysterio appearing at the end of the following dungeons:
Corrupted Skynest (Normal, Hard)
Draakon Arena (Normal, Hard)
Forbidden Arena
Bahaar’s Sanctum
Akalath Quarantine
Gossamer Vault (Hard)
Antaroth’s Abyss (Hard)
Grotto of Lost Souls (Hard)
You’ll have to be quick though, as Mysterio disappears soon after he appears: you’ll have just 2 minutes to trade with him!
Mysterio also stocks a design that alchemy artisans can use to create a Damage Protection Voucher (30%). This requires 1x Dark Shard Weapon Feedstock and 2x Dark Shard Armor Feedstock.
New PvP Zone: The Core
Patch 95 introduces a new PvP zone where players must fight it out amongst themselves for their foes and their ‘????’ reputation.
· Buy the Teleport Scroll: The Core from Christoph on Exodor to enter this zone.
· Christoph also sells Exodor Core Essence which is required to be able to survive for 20 minutes in the zone (without this protection you will instantly die).
You can hunt down monsters in this zone for reputation, or bring down other players for rewards. Once enough enemies have been defeated, a special boss appears.
Among others, you can lay claim to the following items:
· Core Ring Talent Stone and Core Necklace Talent Stones which allow you to add new PvP options to the new rings and necklaces.
· Exodor cubes which allow you to transform existing belts/brooches/masks into random new items.
· Materials for enchanting PvP gear.
Partner Adventures
Open your Companion list from the menu or via the new button next to the radar, and send your partner on their very own adventure!
Move the mouse over the different adventure objectives for information about the required partner level and the potential rewards. Each adventure lasts between 8 and 12 hours, and you can dispatch a maximum of 3 partners at any one time – so choose your objective wisely. You’ll find Adventure Completion Tickets in dungeons, which will bring a journey to an immediate end.
The status of your partner’s adventure is shown next to the radar. This will tell you if a partner is on the road or if an adventure has been completed. This information is also available on the character selection screen.
Once an adventure has been completed, click on the corresponding message to collect your partner’s loot. After that, you’ll be able to send your partner on their travels again. The potential rewards range from partner XP and skill advancement XP, right through to enchanting materials and even halidoms and relics.
Gathering & Crafting New Gathering Tool
With the Almighty Gathering Tools, you’ll be able to gather all kinds of materials – 2 seconds faster than before! You can craft an Almighty Gathering Tool I yourself. To do so you’ll need a design from a refining merchant in one of the 4 big cities.
Using Tool Refinement Stones, which you can gather or craft yourself, you can improve your tool from level I to level V. Alternatively, you can combine existing high-level tools into a higher-level Almighty tool. You’ll need 3 different tools of the same rarity for this.
When gathering with your new tool, you’ll have the chance of a critical gathering success, giving you significantly more materials at once. Please keep in mind that partners cannot make critical gathering successes, even if you possess the new tool.
New Collection Targets
Two new materials that can now be gathered have been added to Exodor and some existing dungeons:
Pure Duranium Ore Yields Duranium Shards when gathered Pure Duranium Crystal Yields Duranium Arunic Crystals when gathered
Crafting
New designs can be used to process Duranium Shards and Duranium Arunic Crystals into Duranium Equipment Vouchers. This involves several steps and the use of designs, and requires refining and processing.
As a result, you will receive Duranium Equipment Vouchers, or – if you have a critical success – Shiny Duranium Equipment Vouchers, which you can exchange for additional stats on your gear.
Duranium Equipment Vouchers can contain the following stats:
Power
Endurance
Max. HP
