Architect of the Week

Meet our new Architect of the Week

Several players have stood out this week with their beautiful creations.

We have two special mentions, awarded to Maceomoioli and MagOliven, tied and really not far from our winner this week.
They have shown a lot of imagination with their multiple creations, all very original.

Our winner this week, likes the medieval and would like to bring back a little more of this aspect to his Paris, with the creation of a very nice castle. Congratulations to Lu!
Is this castle your second home in Paris?

Meet us here next Friday to find out who will win the next Architect of the Week title!
Don't forget to share your creations on our Discord community.

See you next week ♥

Special mention, for his creation of the offices of Enodo Games.

Architect of the Week

Welcome to our Architect of the Week!

We got to see a lot of very unique and successful this week.

The votes were very close, and we find an honorable mention this week with the creations of Io_Espa, he managed to harmonize his city with all different styles of buildings. Bravo!

Our winner of AoW this week is Yonko199! Congratulations!
Using the planet buildings to make an eco-friendly plot is a great idea. We especially liked the attention to details, like the shapes with the use of different types of floors, or the original shapes of each building.

Meet us here next Friday to find out who will win the next Architect of the Week title!

Architect of the Week

Welcome to our Architect of the Week Award!

Just this once we meet on Saturday for our Architect of the Week event.

Today's winner is someone who has already earned the title once, and recently at that!
Player since the beginning, he impresses us a little more with each passing week; his progress is outstanding, as are his ideas for the projects he manages to build in-game.
We thus congratulate RaptorHunter, whose latest constructions are very modern and have such a special touch.

You can find (and even use) all these designs on the Workshop of the game, right here:

Interview of an AoW | Pschraeer

Hello Everyone!

We had the pleasure of discovering Pschraeer's work in progress, which earned him Architect of the Week, recreating a modern version of the Elysée Palace in TAP.
He finished it last week, amazed by his work, we wanted to know more about this player and how he approaches his projects.

LISE
Hey!

PSCHRAEER
Hello!

LISE
So we're pretty curious about the thoughts you had to go through to create this project, how you went about it and if the game gave you any trouble.
Are you an architecture student or an architect?

PSCHRAEER
In real life I'm just a postman. I always loved city builders, Architecture & Design, because of that I really like Architect Paris.

LISE
When you create your buildings, are you inspired by existing buildings? And do you try to keep a trace of the original, or do you go in a completely different direction?

PSCHRAEER
Mostly I try to save some old buildings or recreate them. I use satellite photos, google maps or something similar to take a look at the original layout and try to improve it a little bit. So yes!
First I tried to create a more accurate Elysee Palace, but the limitations of designs prompted me to make it different, more modern.

LISE
So, do you first make a sketch on paper, or do you first make drafts in the game before arriving at the result you want?

PSCHRAEER
I try to recreate it directly ingame. It's a lot of try and error, the tools are good, but not as precise as wanted.

LISE
And how many attempts do you make to get a result that you like in general?

PSCHRAEER
Often I redraw the layout of a building 2-3 times, mostly because of difficulties with the roof creation.

LISE
I would have liked to know what tools you could miss, or what improvements could be made to the tools to make them more precise or easier to use?

PSCHRAEER
It would be very usefull if I could directly call the game which angles I need, and it’s kinda annoying that layouts that are no longer connected to the rest can't be used any more.

LISE
We were talking about building styles earlier, and I was wondering, do you prefer to stay in a traditional style then? Or do you sometimes do a little bit more special design, like futuristic or medieval?

PSCHRAEER
I really like traditional styles. I think Paris has to look like Paris, even with modern additions. I would like to have some more styles, so I love every new Style in the workshop.

LISE
Are we likely to see projects with a different style then ?

PSCHRAEER
There are some styles I don't use, like cyclades (the greek one), but I definitely will use a lot of different styles in future projects.

LISE
You told me that you did everything with the drawing board, but for the choice of building designs, do you already know beforehand which ones you want to use or do you experiment with several different designs?

PSCHRAEER
It depends on what I want to build, a palais or theatre should have a more classical design but a shopping mall can be very modern looking. So, I often experiment with several designs and how they work together.

LISE
How did you choose the block you were going to build it on? Did you want a particular block, or did you choose by size?

PSCHRAEER
Mostly I just choose a block nearby other blocks I've already transformed.

LISE
Was the choice of the base district made according to certain criteria or not at all?

PSCHRAEER
Mostly, not at all, for my project that won Architect of the Week I wanted to use the size of the plot. I was inspired by the work of TomKop11 the week before and wanted to make something similar, but connected to my version of the Elysee Palace.

LISE
Do you adapt to the block you use in general?

PSCHRAEER
Yes, mostly!

LISE
When you make a project, you impose yourself on certain objectives, from what I understand you want to give them a modern side, but do you have other criteria that you impose yourself when you create?

PSCHRAEER
I use the original layout and try to improve it, to make them more accurate, add something new and keep it realistic. I don't like to add a giant skyscraper that doesn't fit and I always try to think about what people need. Especially Light, Space, some Nature, Plazas and off course a parking space, I add a lot of parking garages, to make the district more realistic.

LISE
In The Architect: Paris, what is the feature you like the most?
Also, if you could add a feature not currently in the game, what would it be?

PSCHRAEER
I really like the Plot Editor and that you can create one Building out of different parts & styles, you can create very detailed backyards. I love all these little Details, a small Park, a secret path or something else.
A feature that's not currently in game, but definitely needed is a tool to place single plops, like single trees or bushes, a single line of trees in front of the building, some street lights or tables.

LISE
Do you have any idea of the next project you will do on the game?

PSCHRAEER
currently I'm working on a hospital complex on D.30-B.40

LISE
Can’t wait to see it!

Architect of the Week

Welcome to our Architect of the Week Award!

Like every friday, let's elect our Architect of the Week!

Each week, we look forward to seeing your creations made during the week. Even though we only elect one Architect of the Week, you all show great imagination to reinvent Paris.

Congratulations to Cotif11 who becomes the new Architect of the Week, with his seaweed farm.
He did a very original work both in terms of project and elaboration. The use of the plot editor is very meticulous with a lot of right angles and symmetry, and an ingenious use of different buildings that also gives it a futuristic side.

You seem to be getting better and better at using the drawing board, making more and more precise designs. For those who have more difficulty with the in-game tools, stay tuned for more content that might interest you in the next few days.

Find us here next Friday to find out who will win the next Architect of the Week title!
Don't forget to share your creations on our Discord community.

See you next week ♥
