New Content Update!

Hello!

We have released a new update! This update adds a new range of items and fixes some bugs.

New items: Lucky o' Milk. This comes in multiple different flavours/types with each one having different effects, as well as restoring some thirst and hunger. Also, unlike other drinks, the new milk can be consumed even when not thirsty due to its special benefits.
-Plain Milk - Standard milk
-Banana Flavour - bestows the "hydrated effect"
-Strawberry Flavour - restores some stamina, bestows the "bloated" effect
-Chocolate Flavour - can cure bleeding
-Matcha Flavour - fully restores stamina. Bestows a damage-dealt buff
-"Very Lucky" limited edition flavour - bestows a brand new buff called "Luck" (See below).

New Status Effect: "Luck"
-This buff greatly boosts the chance of special items such as weapons and tools spawning.

Other Changes/Fixes:
-Vendors can stock and sell every type of milk
-Milk can also be found throughout the backrooms. The better the effect, the rarer the milk is
-Added an achievement for consuming any milk
-Fixed a bug where ammo loaded into guns will be removed when unequipping and equipping the weapon
-Fixed a bug where the unequip SFX plays when pressing the unequip button with no weapon
-Fixed a bug where the obituary death record will incorrectly show that you died on level 0 if you die on any negative level
-The death screen run results now show the highest and lowest level you reached in that run separately. This is in case you go down and come back up, or vice versa, but also because the lowest levels were not shown at all.
-Fixed a graphical issue where the dead screen run results can clip/extend off screen if too long
-Other small misc fixes/tweaks (typos, smaller stuff, etc).

The next update will mostly focus on fixing many other reported bugs and improving the overall polish!

New content update!

Hello!

We have released a new content update!

New mechanic: elemental enhancing of weapons:
-You can now enhance any weapon with one of three current elemental effects: fire damage, frost damage, and shock damage. The elemental effects are added similar to upgrading, find an elemental kit and then use it to bestow the effect onto the weapon. Every hit against an entity will then deal additional elemental damage!
-Every entity now has some elemental resistance/weakness to these three elements which affects the bonus elemental damage only, for example, the fire golem entity will take big additional elemental damage from a frost weapon, but no additional elemental damage from fire. Shark entities weak to lightning, and resist frost, etc.
-Added the three individual elemental enhancement kit items: Fire enhancement kit, Frost enhancement kit,
-Elemental kits can be found or bought from the general faceling vendors

Added a "safe level":
-This level can appear as any other theme, however, it is very tiny, has no entities, and usually has vendors and vending machines around. This level serves as a brief break and an opportunity to stock up on items. This level looks identical to level 0, however, is much smaller, brighter, has wider corridors and text will appear at the top of the screen stating you are in a safe level.

Added a new status effect and matching item: Drunkenness!
-Your vision will be temporarily blurred and your movement inverted, so don't party too hard in the backrooms.
-New item: HNT Wine. Restores a large amount of sanity and some thirst, however, inflicts drunkenness for a short period of time. Can be found or bought.

Added three new achievements for:
-Enhancing a weapon with an elemental effect
-Getting drunk
-Finding the safe level

Other changes:
-The previously added flaming crossbow now has fire enhancement by default
-Fixed the double musket visual bug
-Fixed a bug where loading your previous quicksave resets ammo in guns to 0
-Fixed a bug where entering the multiplayer lobby and leaving without starting a game and then trying to load a single player quicksave crashes the game
-Various smaller/minor fixes & tweaks (typos, visual/graphical glitches, etc)

New Content Update!

Hello!

We have released a new update! This update introduces some new weapons and a few quality of life changes!

Full changelog:
-New weapon types! Air rifles!
-An air rifle that fires pellets. Deals moderate damage but can fire a few rounds
-An air pistol that also fires pellets. Not as strong as the rifle, but can hold more rounds
-New ammo type: air rifle pellets
-Achievement for obtaining an air rifle or air gun
-Two new crafting blueprints for both new air weapons
-The crafting menu will now highlight and show which recipes you have enough materials for to craft to make it easier so you no longer have to check each one manually
-Entity footsteps are louder in general so if you are alert you can hear nearby entities now
-An SFX for unequipping weapons
-Your current floor number is now shown in the top left corner of the screen so you no longer have to check the inventory each time
-Increased the chance of vendors spawning
-Adjusted certain noises such as radio and others to be more realistic
-Other sight tweaks and fixes...

We have released a new update! This update adds some new weapons, items, and bug fixes.

New weapons:
-Sawn-Off Shotgun - Uses a .12 gauge ammo. Can fire two shots. Inaccurate when not close.
-Savage Crossbow - a crudely made, but dangerous, crossbow
-Nailbat - a bat imbued with many nails.

Bugfixes/Misc:
-Fixed "The poisoned" entity in the toxic factory theme standing motionless when dying
-Fixed a bug preventing you from setting "E" as a key bind for any action

-Added two new blueprints for Nailbat and savage crossbow
-You can now press "Escape" on the death results screen to skip the scrolling text so you don't have to wait
-New item: .12 gauge shells. Ammo for the sawn-off shotgun. Can be found in quantities of 1 or 3, or bought.
-Arms Vendor can sell nailbat, savage crossbow or sawn-off shotgun, or 12 gauge shells
-Enemies loot can now include: painkillers, shotgun ammo, medkit, bolt+nail ammo, as rare-ish drops

We have released another update! This update adds a new weapon type: Crossbows. There are also some new blueprints added and other changes.

Changelog:
-New weapon type: Crossbows. Fires bolts. Unlike firearms that emit a loud noise and can alert entities or other players, these are relatively silent
-Two crossbows were added: a standard wooden crossbow and a "special" rare crossbow. The wooden crossbow can be crafted or bought, the other can only be found
-Added a sixth hotkey slot
-Added blueprints for crossbow bolts
-Fixed a bug where you can repeatedly sell a nailgun depending on the amount of ammo in it instead of the actual amount
-Added crafting blueprints for medkit and bandages
-Fixed a bug where you could left-click and drag the buy/sell window around
-Fixed a bug where obtaining a backpack and then starting a new game would set your inventory slots to 10 instead of the new 12 slots
-Added an item: Bolts box. Gives 10 bolts.
-Faceling vendor can sell bolts+wooden crossbow
-Added a new item: "Big material bag". This is rarer than the standard material bag however yields a lot of materials

New Content Update!

Hello!

We have released a new update! This update adds a new type of item: Valuables/Trinkets. Unlike other items which have specific uses, these miscellaneous items are solely for selling for money or dismantling for materials when possible. They are the most common type of item and are widespread throughout the backrooms and provide an efficient way to accumulate materials or money. They are also all stackable for this reason.

These items also spawn independently from other items, so they will not take the spawn chance of other items for example, and thus do not make any other normal items less rare or affect their RNG at all.

-Dog Tag
-Car Key

Other changes:
-Buffed the light on both lanterns and candles
-Lantern oil is now stackable
-Fixed a bug with the crowbar dismantle description not showing materials
-Fixed a bug where some statistics were not showing/saving properly
-As a lot more items have been added, we slightly increased default inventory slots from 10 to 12, and with backpacks from 15 to 18.
-Fixed some items sell price being at 1 (such as baseball bat)
-Added a creepy static radio that can spawn throughout the levels. May have practical use in the future but for now, is mainly for aesthetics and ambiance similar to the TV.
-Fixed a bug where entities could sometimes not inflict status effects via melee damage in multiplayer


As is usual by now, there will be another update again around the same similar timeframe!

New Content Update!

Hello!

We have released another regular content update!

Content Changes:
-Added a "Darkrooms Level". This level is similar to the default level 0 theme, however as the name implies, it is almost pitch black. You will most likely need a light source to navigate here. This level will only appear after level 0 so you don't spawn into a pitch-black room and gives you time to find a light source.
-Added a new "silent stalker type entity". This entity only appears in the darkrooms and does not make any "scream noise" when chasing you, so if you don't have a light source, you'll have to be careful it doesn't sneak up on you!
-New status effect: health regeneration over time
-New item: Pain Killers. These apply the damage resistance buff as well as the health regeneration buff.
-bars are now shown above every status buff/debuff to show how much time left is remaining for it
-Some lanterns lights were strangely "red" tinted, this was changed to be more orange and realistic
-vendor can sell painkillers
-painkiller achievement for using it
-various smaller fixes such as typos, graphical glitches etc..

New Content Update!

Hello!

A late-night update (3AM here!) is out now! This update was planned for tomorrow, however, it comes early! Some new features and more!

Changes:
-Added a statistics screen. This shows all your previous run statistics such as total deaths, chests, damage received, damage dealt total, shots fired, food, drink, floors climbed, floors descended, backcoin, items sold, bought, etc. Note that as this is a new feature, it will start from zero from the update and will be unable to account for information prior to this update
-New entity: Deathmoths. These entities have a low chance of spawning on any level. Unlike normal entities that chase you, these entities instead fly around at high speed and won't chase you, however, if you're unfortunate enough to be in their flight path and be hit by them, you'll take some damage and likely be poisoned. If you hear the loud sound of insect wings beating, it's time to take cover!
-Added an achievement for consuming 25 food items in total
-Added an achievement for consuming 50 food items in total
-Added an achievement for drinking 25 liquid items in total
-Added an achievement for drinking 50 liquid items in total
-Added an achievement for encountering death moths
-added a special baseball bat weapon
-Fixed the vendor item text overlapping with the description
-Improved the lighting of lantern/fire lights so they are no longer "white artificial light"
-Fixed many typos
-Added multiplayer leaderboards! There are now separate leaderboards for multiplayer runs, including both positive and negative levels! You can now get onto the leaderboards with friends.
-Various other minor fixes/tweaks etc...
