The Bounty V2 is live!
The Bounty V2 is finally here!
After a million setbacks, delays, and life changes, The Bounty V2 (free update for Deluxe Edition owners, of course) is ready to go- in a slightly unconventional way.
Here's what this looks like.
The game has been released now as V2.0, in an early access state. This is a free update, and new players can purchase it at the existing price. During this time I will be reaching out to press/streamers/YT folks/etc.
Also during this time, I will be listening to player feedback and implementing any reasonable QOL (quality of life) changes over a brief period time. Probably about a month or so? At any rate, this will mark the end of the early access period.
At this point, the game will be updated to the (probably) final version of V2.1, and the price will increase to $10.
Here are some of the changes to be implemented during this "early access" round.

The Bounty V2 is coming!
The Bounty V2 is finally coming!
After a million setbacks, delays, and life changes, The Bounty V2 (free update for Deluxe Edition owners, of course) is ready to go- in a slightly unconventional way.
Here's what this looks like.
The game will be released in full in the next week or so as V2.0, in an early access state. This is a free update, and new players can purchase it at the existing price. During this time I will be reaching out to press/streamers/YT folks/etc.

I hope you look forward to playing it as much as I do releasing it.
What is The Bounty V2 exactly?
This new version includes a ton of QOL improvements, a new graphics option, new character skins, new achievements, and above all, a brand new game mode, Adventure Mode.
In Adventure Mode, you find yourself *playtesting* a new and "incomplete" nonlinear game mode. Tasked with piecing together the Blade of Legends so you can enter the castle and defeat the final boss. This blade can also be powered up by finding the seven Legendary Orbs hidden within the dungeons- but these are completely optional. Will you rush the castle as quickly as you can, or take your time finding the orbs and boosting your score as high as you can?
This pushes the envelope a bit more on the 4th wall breaking side; with some pretty big surprises. There are bound to be a few laughs, but you'll have to wait to play it yourself!
June 2019 V2 Progress Report
I figured it was a good time to provide a quick update on my work on the big V2 update and relaunch. Available work time has been reduced to a couple of days a week (at best), so progress has been very slow, though steady.
The good news is the actual development is, as of this past weekend, finished. All of the graphics are working, Adventure Mode is complete sans a couple of small bugs, the additions to Story and Endless... all set. Performance was beginning to suffer, but that's been cleaned up. All that remains is some further testing and possible performance tweaks.
Outside of that is getting the rest of the achievements in and popping correctly, but that's a weekend's work at best.
The real challenge then comes in the form of saving enough money to pay for a new trailer and to support a soft relaunch... one that won't suck. It's hard to say how long that'll be as life likes to throw monkey wrenches into the mix fairly often. Hopefully by Fall.
I'll be back really soon with an update showing off the new pretties and whatnot.
Thanks for reading.

V2 Progress Report
What's up, players?
I'm still plugging away at this overhaul when time allows; the launch (relaunch?) is looking like around June-ish. There isn't too much actual dev work remaining; just balancing, bug squishing, and the like for the most part.
As before the main hurdle is promotion and funding- so at some point between now and getting somebody in to handle the press sort of stuff, I'll put together some videos outlining the new game mode, graphics & sound, extras, and quality of life improvements.
For now, a quick summary of the goodies thus far.
ADVENTURE MODE-
In Adventure Mode, you're tasked with piecing together the Blade of Legends so you can enter the castle and defeat the final boss. This blade can also be powered up by finding the seven Legendary Orbs hidden within the dungeons- but these are completely optional. Will you rush the castle as quickly as you can, or take your time finding the orbs and boosting your score as high as you can?
The actual player story finds you playtesting a new and incomplete nonlinear game mode. This pushes the envelope a bit more on the 4th wall breaking side; with some pretty big surprises. There are bound to be a few laughs, but you'll have to wait to play it yourself!
GRAPHICS OPTION-
The handmade option is the new default. This applies to all modes, including Adventure Mode's dungeons and underworld. The ASCII overworld cannot be changed.
The handmade player character has been canceled, however! When used on the traditional dungeon skins, she was a little jarring- but in the default, the speed and scrolling of minute details along with your focal point was almost nauseating. She looks cool, but in practice, she was not a good idea. I'll share some pictures of her physical sprite with you all sometime though. Remind me if it seems like I forgot.
NEW SYSTEM ITEMS-
These are more surprises for later, but here are a couple that help make your experience a little more user-friendly.
Timepiece- This magical stopwatch is for speedrunners and time
conscious folks alike! Tells your current playtime. Usable in all modes.
Console Terminal- A console which lets you interface with the game
directly. This lets you bypass the Googles of Outlook and the Bodyswapper 9K (though they still work), to change your player or dungeon skin with a quick command line. Want to play as Trickman Terry? Enter char-19. Switch to the low color dungeon? gfx-3. There may also be a few cheat codes, but if you were to find and use them there could be an adverse effect to your scoring. ;)
I'll be back soon with more updates, and enjoy the rest of the sale!

Birthday Sale!
The Bounty: Deluxe Edition is a whole year old already... where does the time go? Well, to celebrate, I'm knocking off 65% of the price for a brief sale! Not a better time yet to jump in or gift to a friend.
I would have liked to have the free V2 update/relaunch/whatever up by now of course, but scheduling and funding and all that have other ideas. Still coming and totally massive, but just a bit longer.
Thanks for your support and patience. Enjoy.
-Dave
V2 Update Delayed
Due to a severe lack of funding, conflicting work scheduling, and family matters- The Bounty: Deluxe Edition's V2 update is delayed until further notice. Work is virtually finished on the development side; but more testing is needed, and I lack the means to properly promote a relaunch such as this.
I'm sorry to everyone that has been looking forward to this, and hope to have updates on a release as soon as possible. Thanks for your support. -Dave
V2 handmade graphics option teaser!
I just wanted to pop up a quick image of the game running with the new option turned on.
I'll have another for y'all once I have a couple more things ready to show, like your playable character. Hope you're looking forward to it!
-Dave
Version 2.0 is nearly here!
The massive free content update and soft relaunch of The Bounty: Deluxe Edition will be coming in October!
In addition to the expandable Adventure Mode and new graphics options, both Story and Adventure Modes are more speedrun friendly, built to track your playtime during and upon game clear.
Stay tuned for a first look at the new graphics style, game mode, and more in the following weeks.
