Patch - Non VR quality of life and bugfixes

Patch has some issues, so it has been reverted for now. I will re-patch with a fix for the issues in the morning.

A bunch of improvements to make non VR easier and less confusing, especially with climbing axes, carrying stuff and losing gear. More improvements planned later


  • Fixed non-hosts not getting access to increased gear slots from host’s upgraded getaway vehicles
  • Fixed possible bug when ending climb and dropping climbing axe at the same time could cause a broken player state
  • Added protection against getting stuck in the shelves in cargo truck and dave’s van getaways
  • Added protection for objects getting stuck in ungrabbable state in nonVR
  • Fixed attachables sometimes instantly re-attaching when detaching them in non VR, causing them to seem to disappear
  • Made carried tools go to toolbelt if there are slots when grabbing a two-handed object
  • Made head wearables go to toolbelt if there are slots if you are holding things in both hands while removing
  • Made head wearables get grabbed when removing instead of falling to the floor
  • Fixed climbing axe dropping out of your hand when stopping climbing in nonVR

July 25th Patch - Getting through them

Last patch only fixed the head wearables for singleplayer, whoops. I will start work on new content tomorrow, tune into the twitch development stream to find out about the new upcoming level 👀


  • Fixed broken item components (e.g. toilet seat and lid) being broken and behaving strangely when grabbed
  • Added options button to reset player data
  • Fixed AI being unable to leave cargo truck when inside
  • Fixed residents/guards sometimes spawning in getaway vehicle if previously stolen
  • Made save file system more robust, so the game should auto-recover from corrupt save files now instead of just not saving progress anymore
  • Fixed head wearables in multiplayer

Day 7 Mini Patch

Just a couple small fixes. I am taking a couple days off now, next week I'll start working on new content as well as continuing to fix bugs. Patches will be coming 1-2 per week so I have time to work on new stuff


  • Fixed not being able to remove head items
  • Fixed bug where post-tasing invulnerability was not being applied properly (spawn kill protection)

Day 6 Path - Revenge of the Toolbelt

In this patch I've revamped the toolbelt for VR players. Now, items on the toolbelt are not grabbable. Instead, the toolbelt icon itself is grabbable, and when you grab it it will automatically make you grab the item instead. This means that the grab positions are always the same regardless of the item on the belt, and should make it easier to know what you're grabbing. It is also now only possible to grab toolbelt items when you're looking down at your toolbelt, which should stop any accidental un-toolbelting.

This change is quite experimental so let me know what you think. If you have any bugs with it, comment here or post in the discord.

I believe the slow hands glitch is now fixed too, but it is quite intermittent for me so hard to confirm.

Day 5 Patch 2 - Have your stretchy hands you animals

Hand teleporting is now split, so they will teleport after a short distance if you're not holding anything, and a longer distance if you are. This should stop the annoyance with hands falling off heavy stuff as you drag it. Eventually I want to add legit ways of moving heavy stuff, like winches and super strength perks, but for now you can use your stretchy hand powers instead.

Also note - you can still get your move speed like it was before, just enable fast move in settings. I wanted the default to be slower because people get motion sick


  • Decreased sounds for glass smashing, airbags, and firecrackers
  • Added auto-exposure to spectator camera for brighter footage in dark areas
  • Made top of cargo truck doorway climbable for easier roof access
  • Made light switches a little stickier and easier to flick in VR
  • Moved getaway button on RV closer to door
  • Fixed broken highlighting on ladders and other strange objects in VR
  • Reduced VR move speed to combat motion sickness - added “fast move” option in menu to set it back to how it was before
  • Made movement slower while crouched in VR to match nonVR
  • Thickened cargo truck walls slightly to reduce collision bugs
  • Split hand teleport distance so that hands teleport much quicker when you are not grabbing anything. Reverted distance when holding something back to previous value
  • Made bob’s hardware less enticing

Day 5 Patch


  • Fixed rocket boosters not working when equipped by non-host players
  • Made players returning to lobby spawn in front of the haul board
  • Fixed bug where swag bag contents wouldn’t count towards haul if they are on a player’s toolbelt
  • Fixed hands teleporting too quickly when trying to remove large gear items like climbing axes from toolbelt slots
  • Added low-friction capsule colliders around VR hands so they get stuck inside / behind objects less easily
  • Fixed hands going super slow randomly
  • Added WMR binding to fix input issues with WMR devices

Day 4 Patch


  • Made cargo truck slightly wider
  • Fixed VR toolbelt changes applying in non VR too

  • Fixed Vr highlights being broken on some objects
  • Fixed UI pointers being invisible when opening in-mission menu in VR
  • Fixed hanging flowers going invisible in bungalow
  • Added hand collision protection in VR to stop hands glitching out as much when pushed against heavy objects
  • Fixed rotation bug in security camera wall attachment
  • Fixed mechanic door handles being unaligned
  • Made casino trees climbable if they are not yet uprooted
  • Increased hand reach in VR
  • Decreased hand teleport distances
  • Made climbing axes able to smash things in VR
  • Made it so climbing axes can’t stick into walls at extreme angles to reduce chance of them getting stuck in walls
  • Fixed climbing axes getting dropped when they enter a wall in VR

Day 3 Bumper Bug Buster


  • Reduced volume of ambient sound track a bit cause y’all have no love for cicadas
  • Increased VR toolbelt item removal distance to make it harder for items to come off unintentionally
  • Fixed banana being rotated weird in gear slot
  • Added highlighting to object you are about to grab in VR
  • Fixed VR toolbelt magnet UX staying up after activating bananas or firecrackers when magneting
  • Fixed VR toolbelt slots becoming locked after activating bananas or firecrackers in them
  • Fixed either VR hand triggers activating both held items
  • Added missing climbables to house porch roof
  • Added new resident action to sleep on the couch
  • Fixed bug where residents would walk around endlessly not doing any actions
  • Fixed bug where residents would wake up right before the lobby is loaded and not get counted
  • Fixed bug where getting tased after the getaway timer ends, but before the lobby loads causes you to be untaseable in future missions
  • Removed annoying start noise from secret getaway vehicle
  • Fixed residents getting up inside cargo truck going through floor
  • Fixed AI being able to walk through cargo truck
  • Fixed bug where fading to or from black could cause the screen to remain partially dim
  • Fixed bug where residents would sometimes never call the police after alerting, and just run around forever
