We are excited to bring you a new map today, the U.S. Air Force Boneyard. This map will be used for today’s Fanduel DRL Sim Racing Cup event at 4pm EST. This map will have a freestyle track and 2 race tracks in this release, “Stratotanker” and “Sim Racing Cup 8.” The Sim Cup track will be added shortly when today’s race begins.
The Boneyard at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base is the world's largest military aircraft maintenance facility and home to thousands of decommissioned aircraft. Although this map is not an exact replica of the real boneyard, it has hundreds of planes including KC-135 Stratotankers, F-15E Strike Eagles and A-10 Thunderbolt II “Warthogs” to fly over and explore.
We encourage you to check out these new tracks and see how you stack up to your fellow sim pilots.
Thank you for your ongoing support, DRL Sim Team
Weekly Community Tournaments: Sunday Night Flights
Hello Pilots,
We are excited to announce "Sunday Night Flights", a new weekly community tournament series, that we will be running on Sundays at 7pm EST. The first tournament will be Sunday, June 28th.
We wanted to set up these tournaments based on requests from the community. These tournaments will not be hosted or streamed by DRL staff, but you are encouraged to interact with each other on Discord throughout each tournament or even stream them on your own channels. These tournaments are for fun/practice and prizes will not be awarded.
You can access and register for the tournaments via the “Tournaments” card in the sim. The tournament for this week will open Saturday evening for registration.
The tournaments will follow nearly the same format as the Tryouts tournaments where there will be a 15 minute qualifier, followed by 4 quarterfinals, 2 semifinals, and a final. Each round from the quarterfinals to the finals will have 6 pilots and 5 heats. The scoring system used will be the point system used in Tryouts.
Thank you for your ongoing support of the sim.
