Hello Pilots,
We’ve got a new update for you all that improves upon a few of the things we introduced in the last update. Here’s what you can expect from DRL Simulator Version 2.2
Changing Drones:
We’ve made it easier to change drones during any of our events or activities. You can now change your drone directly through the pause menu without having to go back to the map screen. Be aware that this will restart your current race and change the race class accordingly.
Physics Dashboard Improvements:
In addition to some overall tweaking, we have enabled the Physics Dashboard to be accessed from any mode in the game. Players can set and save physics properties for their custom drones on the fly. Please note that race times with your own physics will be marked different from default physics times in order to keep things fair.
Here’s how it works:
In race or freestyle you must open the Physics Dashboard from the pause menu at which point your run will be tagged as a ‘Custom Physics’ run until you hit a loading screen and it resets, unless you have a ‘Tuned’ drone but we’ll get to that later.
Hitting the ‘P’ key now will bring up the dashboard like in the ‘Physics’ level.
In the Physics Dashboard you can ‘Save’ your current settings you have set to your drone that you are using, the drone then becomes ‘Tuned’. Hitting ‘Clear’ will reset your drone back to default settings. Selecting ‘New’ at the top will save your drone as a community drone, more on that in future updates.
DRL Leaders leaderboard is for stock parts on a default tuned DRL Racer3. Don’t worry, you can still go nuts with the cosmetics and still be official.
If you have any other questions, please leave them in the comments below.
Bugs and Performance:
We’re hard at work improving the overall experience of the game, we’ve focused this update on improving our quality settings and performance of the game along with general bug fixes. If you’re having any trouble with the SIM or just want to know more, please see our helpdesk
Thanks everyone!

DRL SIM 2.1 Release Announcement
Hello Pilots,
It’s been a while since our last update but we’ve been busy. We’re happy to announce the launch of DRL SIM 2.1 along with a host of new features and updates.
Garage Mode:
One of the most important parts of drone racing is the fine tuning and customization that goes along with building your own drone. In this new update you can now customize the Props, Motor, Battery, Accessories, and Colors of your drone. You can then take your custom drone into any of our single player or online modes.
Physics (Beta):
Today the DRL Sim is rolling out the beta version of it’s Physics engine. We are committed to creating the ultimate sandbox for quadcopter dynamics in search of the ultimate feel.
We will also be working to improve things further, so if we’re still not up to your standards let us know. Stay tuned there is much more to come.
Social Features:
Hangout and talk trash with your fellow pilots with our new Social Panel. You will now be able to chat with all the other DRL SIM users in our Global Chat or maybe just message a friend with our Private Chat. Only interested in talking with the folks you’re racing with, try using our Game Chat, all included in the new Social Panel.
Multiplayer Quickmatch:
Tired of searching through rooms and regions looking for people to fly with? Now with Quickmatch, you can be placed into a game with the press of a button. This works for both Racing and Freestyle matches.
New Map:
A new mega map. Out of Service is a large outdoor map modeled after an abandoned airport in the desert. With a mix of planes, cranes, and a very large zeppelin to fly in and around. Along with this map comes a new Freestyle course and 3 new Race courses to try. (We’re excited to see if Robogenesis can maintain his top spot.)
Bugs and Performance:
In addition to all this new content we’ve also been working to improve the performance and quality of the sim, along with squashing a few bugs along the way. If we missed any please let us know in the discussions section of our Community Hub here on Steam. If you’re having any trouble with the SIM or just want to know more, please see our helpdesk
Thanks everyone!
