If you follow our studio, you might know that we released a new game outside of the Gallery series early last month. Pistol Whip is a new kind of action-rhythm FPS, mixing the pulse-pounding pace of an FPS with the flow-state energy of a music game.
Pistol Whip is a gameplay departure from our puzzle/adventure fare, but shares a lot of the same values we displayed with The Gallery series and Aperture Hand Lab -- game feel, cinematic styling, and an almost-puzzle-game-like experience turn Pistol Whip from an arcade rail shooter into something unique in VR, with unprecedented player agency as a rhythm game.
As part of the Steam Winter Sale, we're introducing a limited time bundle: The Cloudhead Games Holiday Bundle, featuring both episodes of the Gallery and Pistol Whip.
Separately, both episodes of The Gallery are 60% off, but as part of the bundle, you can claim an additional 10% off of Pistol Whip if you're interested in our latest outing. For the upcoming launch of Valve Index, we've released a set of new controller bindings to add support for the capacitive touch features of Index.
What this means for The Gallery is that you can naturally grab objects and interact with the world just by—and I know this is going to sound complicated, but hear me out—reaching out and grabbing. With your real hand. No buttons needed.
To enable these controls, open SteamVR and go to Settings > Controller Binding (or Devices > Configure Controller on desktop) and find The Gallery in your list of applications. For more info, check out this thread.
If you've played Emberstone before on Vive or Oculus, it's like a whole new experience on Index. You basically have a Jedi force power controlled entirely by grip detection—naturally opening and closing your hand to activate. If you're new to the series, you can try a level for free with our Coliseum demo, or start the adventure with Call of the Starseed (60% off, remember).
Finally, we've launched a new collaboration with Valve called Aperture Hand Lab, a short experience that utilizes the high-fidelity finger tracking and pressure sensitivity of Index Controllers. You can try it for free starting yesterday!

Welcome to a new year of adventure!
To start it off right, we're releasing the Original Soundtrack for Heart of the Emberstone (done by award-winning Skyrim composer Jeremy Soule) at long last to all owners as FREE DLC. Whether you own the adventure already or if you pick it up now for 50% off during the Steam Winter Sale (until January 4), just visit our store page and find the "DLC" section to download it.
To launch the soundtrack, go the music tab in your library. If you installed the DLC and don't see the soundtrack, go to Settings > Music > Scan Now and it should appear.
If you're new to the adventure, or are still answering the Call of the Starseed, Episode 1 is also 50% off during the sale and also includes a free OST. And of course, pick up both episodes for an additional 10% off for a grand 55% discount.

Achievements, Trading Cards, and Chinese localization now live in v1.1.0!
Our latest update to Heart of the Emberstone introduces achievements, trading cards, and our first localized language. These new achievements will bring you back into the world and invite you to explore Ember in unique ways. There’s even a few secret achievements in there we think achievement hunters will really enjoy.
We spent a lot of time trying to find a compelling way to translate a VR game without losing the original narrative built into the world. We ended up with a panelized localization system that overlays in-game texts to maintain their style. It’s pretty nifty and we feel it prevents the intent from getting lost in translation.
Lastly, this first major update includes trading cards and badges and wallpapers and emoticons. All the snazzy stuff you need to pretty up your Steam profile with Heart of the Emberstone swag.

Introducing Heart of the Emberstone: Coliseum!
Taken straight from the heart of adventure, Coliseum is a special sandbox version of a level found in The Gallery - Episode 2: Heart of the Emberstone, made available free for virtual reality. We wanted to give players a way to delve into the mystery, master the Gauntlet, and get a taste of the world of fantasy and adventure found within The Gallery.
This sandbox version is a telekinetic playground built for you to easily try and share a piece of the experience. If you’re new to the series, Coliseum is a way to try a slice of the game risk-free. If you’re a returning player, Coliseum offers you a quick way to wield the Gauntlet or pass a demo to a friend when you’re showing off your headset.
Really, we wanted to break up the monotony of the usual arcade fare in VR with a taste of a bigger adventure. Coliseum is a showcase for enthusiasts like you to experience tailor-made VR gameplay and story for free.
