Hey everyone,
Welcome to our first official Steam news post, and what a post it is!
If this is your first time hearing from us, hello! We’re Pontoco, an indie studio based in the US, currently building a VR puzzle-automation game called The Last Clockwinder.
We are getting closer and closer to launch - it's an exciting and stressful time! For those of you who aren't in the business of making video games, you might be surprised at how much work goes into a successful game launch even after the game itself is done. You have to shoot a compelling trailer, make an attractive store page (or multiple, in our case), write to game journalists, and do regular quality assurance testing on the game - it's a lot. That's why we're very, very excited to have not one, but TWO partners helping us launch The Last Clockwinder.
Partnerships: In a strange turn of events, The Last Clockwinder will be published by Cyan Ventures, the publishing arm of Cyan Worlds, the incredibly talented team behind Myst. When we started on this journey, we’d have never guessed we would be announcing something like that! We are fans of Myst so being able to announce that our little game is being supported by Cyan Worlds is pretty wild!
We’re equally happy to announce that Robot Teddy, a global consultancy team focusing on supporting indie developers, is working with us too. You might recognise the name, they have helped support and launch smash hit games like SUPERHOT and Among Us.
This is wildly exciting for us here at Pontoco. Cyan and Robot Teddy have already been invaluable publishing partners for us. They're taking care of a lot of the not-game-making work so that the Pontoco team can focus on the last of the game-making. Because of their help, we're going to be able to make The Last Clockwinder a better game and reach more people with it!
