Did you read the news? The Last Spell is getting a DLC!
Dwarves of Runenberg is the first DLC coming to The Last Spell, and with it comes multiple additions to the game, including three brand new weapons. Today, we're gonna give you a little more insight about one of them: the Gauntlet, a magical weapon with the power of throwing rocks around.
The Gauntlet is a magical weapon that morphs from a close range to a long range weapon when a certain threshold is reached, changing your approach to the battlefield. Lift the rocks, kill your enemies and reposition yourself to take advantage of its unique passive.
Gauntlet's Skills
Snap
Extract a stalagmite from the ground to pierce your target. Smaller stalagmites will hit the nearby enemies. This is a single-target skill taking advantage of Opportunism.
Shockwave
Project a shockwave of stalactites to nearby enemies, shattering their armor. This in an AoE skill scaling on Propagation.
Geo Cannon
Extract three gigantic rocks and throw them in front of you. A powerful attack, but easily dodged by faster enemies.
Perk weapon
With the release of Dwarves of Runenberg, we are introducing Perk weapons, a new way to design and play the weapons at your disposal. Perk weapons are available on the Gauntlet, War Shield and Cannon.
Geo Reservoir
Accumulate the runic energy in your Gauntlet and release it in a spell, enhancing its range and power.
To use Geo Reservoir, first you'll need to hit up to 6 enemies to charge it up. If you're lucky (or insanely good) and you hit 6 enemies with only one skill, you're ready to go to the next step!
Once your Geo Reservoir is up and ready, use your much improved range to punish enemies that were too far away from you just a minute ago.
Now that you know everything about this new weapon, we can't wait to see you using it on the battlefield! The Gauntlet is one of three weapons available in the upcoming DLC: make sure to wishlist it! Dwarves of Runenberg will be available on April 24th.
Welcome to Runenberg, a new map of 8 Nights set in the mountains. A gigantic cave will greet you from one side, as the large bridge built by the dwarves will allow monsters to come at you from another with a vast and powerful wave. Get ready, this dwarven map's difficulty will be set between Glenwald and Elderlicht.
Did we also say one side was randomly generated at each run? Because yes it is.
Runenberg will bring new and unique features such as Runestones and Dwarves Statues:
Runestones: They are made of three different types (ice, fire, poison) and destroying them inflicts damage on nearby monsters without harming Heroes. Once destroyed, they will regenerate in the exact same location.
Dwarves Statues: Four strange statues stand on the map of Runenberg, with two of them close to your Haven, and two of them quite far away. They mostly stay silent but everything will change once the final Night begins...
This time around, instead of a big terrifying boss swirling from the Mist on your final Night, Dwarves Statues will activate and use their mystic skills to empower a gigantic wave of enemies to crush you in no time.
On Night 8, hell will let loose, Dwarves Statues will gradually be activated and Corrupted Runestones will randomly appear on the map. As you resist against the horde of monsters crawling and growing bigger at each new turn, Dwarves Statues will make things even more difficult for you by empowering the monsters around them and targeting the Corrupted Runestones. You may be profoundly surprised by the turn of events happening during this final Night...
NEW RACE: DWARVES
Having humans may not be enough to defeat the Mist, so the dwarves decided to join in! New haircuts, new faces but also new (and small) sizes! Get to know your new friends on the battlefield!
Dwarves will have an exclusive Perks collection related to their race as well as one exclusive passive:
"Toss me!": Ask your lovely friend standing next to you to throw you across the map in order to effectively slaughter thousands of enemies. Talking about it, you may remember a particular scene between a human and a dwarf doing exactly just that...
Here are a few Perks examples of what you may find in the DLC:
Warcry: The more a Dwarf is injured, the louder he shouts, inspiring his comrades to fight that much harder.
Look at my Muscles: Dwarves expose their muscles to fight longer... It's a Dwarf thing.
Emergency tunnel: Dwarves tend to jump headlong into battle... But they’re also able to quickly tunnel back to safety.
Dwarves may be smaller, but they are also tougher! This will be reflected upon their stats, as they will have less Movement Speed than humans but in return will gain more Block and more Health Regen.
By starting a run on Runenberg, your team will have at least one dwarf.
On other maps, you'll have a chance to have a dwarf in your starting team. By visiting the Tavern, whichever map you play, you'll get as much chance to have humans as dwarves Heroes.
NEW WEAPONS
Dwarves of Runenberg is adding three exclusive new weapons to the game. These weapons have been created to change the way you play The Last Spell, thanks to the addition of weapons' Perks. Not only will these weapons have unique spells, each one of them will also have a unique Perk:
Gauntlet: a magical weapon that morphs from a close range to a long range weapon when a certain threshold is reached
War Shield: a melee weapon designed to let you tank damages, then unleash your power as retaliation
Cannon: an extremely powerful range weapon paired with a risk of overheating, altering the cost of its abilities
NEW ITEMS: STONE MEDALS
In the same spirit, we are also adding new items called "Stone Medals", letting you equip brand new Perks specifically created for it. You read it right, Stone Medals can be equipped just like any other Trinket on your Heroes, giving you more specific and perfectly needed Perks to your strategy.
The Perks available on the Stone Medals are all new and won't be available on the Perks page of your Heroes. Stone Medals can be obtained just like any other items (Shop, Bone Piles, War Spoils...).
FREE UPDATE
In addition to the DLC Dwarves of Runenberg, we're also adding some free features for ALL players:
Weapons Selection: Before the start of your run, choose which weapons you'd like to have in it
Old Medals: A new type of Trinket using the existing Tier 4 and Tier 5 Perks
Veterans and lovers of the game, we cannot wait to let you get your hands on the DLC, and it's coming very soon! In a matter of weeks in fact, as Dwarves of Runenberg will release on April 24th at 7,99€/$7,99 .

The Last Spell released one year ago!
Hello Heroes!
Today marks a special day for all of us at Ishtar Games, but also for you! Exactly one year ago, The Last Spell launched in 1.0, almost two years after the start of the Early Access.
We've said it before but we'll say it again: our success has been possible thanks to you, the players. Even now, we see your messages on Discord & Reddit to discuss strategies, ideas and to welcome new players trying to beat this damn Cetusia on Lakeburg. Your support means a lot to us and we are always happy to answer your questions, detail our choices in our blogposts or go even further than what we initially ambitionned for the game.
But we know you've got one big question about what's coming after!
DLC?
You're waiting for it, we are profusely working on it, but we're not ready just yet to tell you more about it.
We read your messages every day and we're very much aware of the excitement that you all have for the DLCs, and trust us, we CAN'T WAIT to tell you about the VERY exciting things we've been cooking for you!
In the meantime, yay to The Last Spell being one year old and here's to a lot more!

This month, we released Spirited Thief, a brand new turn-based tactical stealth game!
The Last Spell and Spirited Thief are both turn-based tactical and while in the first one you had to destroy everything coming at you, here the approach is more... Discreet. So please do not try to kill everything, it may be counter-productive.
In Spirited Thief, you will experience the same turn-based tactical goodness that we know you absolutely loved in The Last Spell. Think ahead, try things, change your skills, kill the guards or try to sneak in past behind them: you have multiple ways to succeed... or to fail!
Scout, loot, and get out in Spirited Thief, a tactical turn-based stealth game with a twist. Search ahead as spirit, Trin, and grab the goods as thief, Elaj. Just make sure you have the loot before the guards come looking!
Do not hesitate to leave a review if you enjoyed the game!
