We are so happy to announce that The Living Remain is Available Now! A huge thank you to everyone who supported us and waited so patiently for this release. We hope you enjoy playing our game as much as we did developing it for you!
Five Finger Studios (AKA Steve & Pamela)
New Store Art
Just wanted to share a quick update as the April 5th launch is coming in hot!
As we are getting closer to launch, we have been looking at all of the work we have done to get us here and examined it with a closer eye.
One thing we wanted to change was the Steam Store Key Art. It's not a major change, but definitely an enhancement.
Let us know what you think.
Note: Its more noticeable if you visit the page in the Steam Desktop client.
Thank you to everyone who has patiently waited for The Living Remain! It has been a long road, and we are excited to have all of you experience it! There were many changes and restarts during development...mainly because we feel very strongly about making something that we would play ourselves.
In the coming days and until launch, we will be sharing much more information regarding the game, its mechanics and give sneak peaks as to what you can expect.
We have poured our heart and soul into making this the best experience as we can, and we look forward to hearing from you about your experiences!
New Title & Key Art
Hello there everyone! We have some big, exciting news to share with you today.
First, we want to take this chance to send out a big thank you to everyone who has kept their eye on The Days After, and has shared their support and excitement for the project. It’s really motivated us to make the best VR survival experience we can achieve.
We’ve not stopped working since we last posted an update for you all, and one of the major things we’ve put together is a totally new look for the game.. including the title.
“The Days After” has served us well, but as we’ve overhauled pretty much every system in the game - including combat, crafting, scavenging and puzzles, we wanted to give the game a brand new look to reflect the higher level of quality we’ll be launching at.
Moving forward, The Days After will become The Living Remain with this awesome new trailer, logo and key art!
Upcoming Announcement
Hey Everyone!
We have a big announcement coming in a few days...Stay Tuned!
Sneak Peek of Crafting
Hey Everyone!
As promised, we want to keep the community up to date with what we're working on. We're excited to share a glimpse of the crafting we have in The Days After.
Throughout the campaign resources are scarce, but you'll have plenty of places to scavenge to find various items to breakdown into materials to make new items. It's not an overly complicated system, and it's up to players to choose what is valuable and what is not.
Here is the pot used to breakdown those collected items into materials. Stay tuned for more about that later!
The Days After – Update Re-Launch
Hello fellow gaming aficionados!!
It’s been some time since our last update, as we have been hard at work progressing on The Days After. As we continue development and move towards a near release date, we thought this would be a good time to re-engage the community and provide regular updates on game development, while receiving feedback and suggestions from your collective hours of gaming experience.
Like you, we are avid gamers and our goal is to deliver a VR gaming experience that players want and deserve for their hard earned coin, without repeating the mistakes made by other developers consumed in the grip of the cash grab.
First, allow me to share with you who we are, how we got here, what we are accomplishing, and how you can help.
Five Finger Studios is an independent gaming company consisting of a small group of individuals. How small? Uh…yea, well, there are two of us. Three years ago we quit our jobs and have been focusing on the development of The Days After, full-time, with some support and mentorship from major headset makers, and VR industry experts. No turning back now.
The Days After takes place in a post-event zombie apocalypse. A story driven kill-fest, using some seen before, as well as some improved game mechanics. Well balanced puzzles that allow the player to interact with the world and utilize items to craft things to their advantage. We have also optimized the game to run and look good on a wide range of PC specifications and VR headsets.
While in development we continue to keep an eye on new and innovative gaming techniques, ideas, community feedback, and frankly, VR game releases. The recent game releases (we all know what they are) as of late, have been both inspirational and impressive, and a strong catalyst for our desire to develop a great game. Let’s be honest, we all have our own ideas of what makes a great VR game, and we want to hear yours.
Every time we don on our headsets and dive into a new or sometimes old game, we wonder…”What works? What doesn’t work? How can we make it better?”
We take our answers to these questions and try to incorporate them into The Days After, but we can’t do it alone. In the name of progress and delivering the gaming experience that captures the best of all your ideas and leaves the “what’s wrong” on the cutting room floor, we will be fully engaging in the Steam Community Board to update you on game progress, schedules, screen shots, game mechanics, and most importantly, solicit suggestions. Your participation is kindly requested.
In the meantime, here is a list of links to refresh your memory and keep you occupied until the next update. We will provide regular updates to the Steam Board, so click on the “follow” button to make sure you don’t miss anything.
Oh, and I know what you’re thinking. What, no demo? Yea, it’s coming….
