Roadmap Update - NEW LANGUAGES THIS MONTH, Remastered Music, And More!

Hi everyone!

A while ago I shared the roadmap and today I'm excited to reveal a shuffling of a few of the items + announce that the update to V1.1 is going to be coming out very soon! We're in the final stages of testing the localization of Spanish, German, and French, but once that's done we're ready to release!

Check out the updated roadmap below, and let me know what you think! All of the November items will release in the V1.1 update, the first major one for The Outbound Ghost 👀



As you can see, we've also remastered the music (thanks Kimmo and Greg!) and the soundtrack will be making its way to Steam, Spotify, YouTube, Bandcamp, etc. when V1.1 releases as well!

Last chance at discount + demo with save transfer news!

Hi everyone!

It's been a busy week with the Steam Scream Fest, but today's the last day! In case you missed it, the game has been on a 20% discount and has had a free demo up that allows you to transfer your progress to the full game!

If you've ever wanted to try before you buy, this is the perfect opportunity!

Previously I had said that the demo was going to be limited to this Steam Scream Fest, but it will now be up past the event! This will really make sure that all of you know what to expect out of the game before you buy it!

SCREAM FEST: 20% DISCOUNT AND THE DEMO IS LIVE AGAIN!

The Outbound Ghost is participating in the Steam Scream Fest, which starts today and runs until 1st November. The demo will be live again for the duration of the event, while the full game will be available with a 20% discount.



The demo lets you sample the game's opening section and takes about two hours to play through. Your progress in the demo can be carried over to the main game, so if you enjoy the demo and decide to buy the full game, you can continue where you left off.

IN OTHER NEWS:

  • Content for a v1.1 update, which includes a rework of status presentation, the addition of objective/party chat, and new NPCs and sidequests, will go into testing next week and should - all being well - be ready for release shortly after
  • We have been working on French, German, and Spanish localizations, and these should be ready soon
  • Work on the console versions is ongoing and still on track for release later this year

Finally, if you want to grab the official - and very adorable - Outbound Ghost plushie (pictured below), you need to head here sharpish cos the limited time offer ends soon.

You might have seen a post a while ago announcing the existence of the official The Outbound Ghost plushie... Well it's out now!!! You can get it here, and it's a limited offer so be quick!



In terms of the roadmap, I'm still on track to launch version 1.1.X later this months with the following changes/additions:

  • Status presentation rework.
  • Objective/Party chat.
  • New NPCs and sidequests.

ROADMAP REVEAL (2023+)

Hi everyone!

As many of you know, The Outbound Ghost released on the 20th of September and the release went amazingly (click here to get the game if you haven't already)! Now I'm ready to share the PC roadmap, check it out below.



I will save some of the details of these additions/reworks for a later date closer to their release, but I'm exicted to release the first major update to the game this month with a Status Rework, Party Chat, and new NPCs/Sidequests 👀

Also, if you've played the game and enjoyed it, I would seriously appreciate it if you left a review on Steam! It's the best thing you could do to support me after getting the game, so the more reviews the better :)

Vesion 1.0.17 (BALANCING, STORY BLOCKS, NEWS)

Hi everyone! Here's another patch, and this week I'm also going to be showing the longer-term post-launch roadmap so keep an eye out for that!

Also, if you're liking the game and would like to support me, I would also super appreciate it if you left a review! Anyways, here are the patch notes:


  • Fixed issue where some players reported being blocked from progressing the story in the Soggy Swamp when you meet Lori for the 3rd time.
  • Fixed issue where some players reported being blocked from progressing the story after beating the first boss in the Soggy Swamp.
  • Fixed issue where some players reported being blocked from progressing the story in Ravenside.
  • Fixed issue where some players reported being blocked from progressing the story in other minor areas.

  • Fixed Triple SP Steal bug that prevented the skill from giving the user SP.
  • Fixed bug where the skills menu for Doubt wouldn't work properly if your player level was high enough.

  • Adjusted EXP drops for the Mimic boss fight, but kept the EXP skill scaling the same.
  • Fixed issue where some enemies didn't have the correct turn order sprite.
  • Adjusted balancing for Head Start 1.

  • Fixed typos in credits.


A bit of a shorter this time around, but there's a good reason for that - we've started localizing the game! I can't confirm which languages are in the works right now, but there's a good bunch of them and I'm hoping to announce more soon!

Version 1.0.16 (DIALOGUE SPEEDUP, BALANCING, OOB FIXES)

Hi everyone! There's another patch coming your way, and this one like the other ones is filled to the brim with new stuff and fixes! As I mentioned previously, next week I'm also going to be showing the longer-term post-launch roadmap so keep an eye out for that!

  • Added the ability to skip the intro cutscene if you hold start/escape.
  • You can now hold down the interact button to slowly speed up dialogue.
  • Added an option that lets you skip dialogue.

  • Fixed bug that prevented some players on the randomizer mode from progressing past the Leaf miniboss in Central Outbound.

  • Adjusted chapter 5 start text to better convey the objective of the chapter (it's postgame).
  • Adjusted SP costs of several poison/freeze/burn/zap skills.

  • Fixed bug that prevented some players from progressing past Ravenside in chapter 4.
  • Fixed bug that froze the dialogue box if you talked to Phoebe twice next to the Train Station.
  • Fixed bug that made Mary and Linda appear offscreen during a cutscene with Michael in Ravenside.
  • Fixed bug that made The Scare not appear in certain spots sometimes.

  • Fixed bug that made some minimap elements appear in battle.
  • Fixed bug that made the audio sliders not affect the wind and windchimes in Escales.

  • Fixed out of bounds spot in the Soggy Swamp.

Version 1.0.15 (ALL MINIMAP ICONS, DIFFICULTY ADJUSTMENTS, OOB FIXES).

Hi everyone! I know that yesterday I said that I wouldn't push an update today, but I got some time in the evening to compile a few of the updates that I had made previously and hadn't pushed, and combine them into this update (together with some small bug fixes)!

Also, if you're liking the game and would like to support me, I would also super appreciate it if you left a review! Anyways, here are the patch notes:


  • Added minimap/radar icons to all items of importance (chests, recipe pickups, breakables, secret bosses, etc).

  • Adjusted balancing in the Barbed Apparition fight to make it less tedious.
  • Adjusted balancing in the Fungal Duo fight to make poison less punishing.

  • Fixed bug that made the info screen in battle not display the correct HP of enemies when in hard/spectral difficulty.
  • Fixed another bug that made some users not get Levi as their partner in Ravenside in chapter 4.
  • Fixed issue that saw some users report occasional frame drops.

  • Added better tutorialisation for status effects, and how the status stack works.
  • Added better tutorialisation for aspect forging.
  • Added better tutorialisation for the status glossary.

  • Fixed out of bounds spot in the Outbound Trail.
  • Fixed out of bounds spot in the Soggy Swamp.


If you've read yesterday's patch notes you'll now why todays patch is a bit smaller, but it fixes some key things that are important!
