Note: Flashback Therapy will not reinstate the Catalogs, only the Trial variators.

Project Breach | Hotfix Patch Notes - Dec. 13th

We are deploying a small patch to fix some issues that have been reported.
- Fixed an issue where the Skinnerman triggered mine traps that players hack using the Jammer Rig. - Fixed an issue where Franco would get stuck patrolling. - Fixed an issue where players could get stuck during the final sequence of "Pleasure the Prosecutor" in Downtown Trial. - Fixed issues with various cosmetic names. - Increased NPC spawning for the "Pleasure the Prosecutor" Downtown Trial in Psychosurgery to reflect the intended difficulty level. -Fixed an issue where the Scapegoat would not die after having his last lightbulb destroyed.

Season 2: Project Breach
Rumors of an escaped Reagent are spreading through the Sinyala facility. Though Murkoff may deny it, you will encounter Amelia Collier, the runaway Reagent hiding in the Trials during "Project Breach".
Though concerns about Ameliaâs escape have reached Easterman, he and his team continue to push forward, exploring the psychosexual effects Franco has had on Reagents by releasing him into a new Story Trial, âPleasure the Prosecutorâ. Set within the latest Outlast Trials environment, DOWNTOWN, players will be tasked with turning Francoâs devious cabaret against itself. And for Reagents who have caught wind of the escape, Murkoff has even more new content to keep you too busy to concern yourself with such nonsense. Daydreaming about your old life is prohibited. Productivity and collaboration are key.
New Trials and MK-Challenges
Pleasure the Prosecutor (Trial): âHe who controls what justice desires defines the contours of law. Satiate the prosecutor's more discerning pleasures.â
Reunite the Family (MK-Challenge): âThe nuclear family is the societal ideal. Release the orphan from the shackles of the state and reunite him with mother and father.â
Deface the Futtermans (MK-Challenge): âChildhood memories are the stagnation that impede your growth. Put away the childish things that clutter your mind.â
New Deluxe Catalog: Project Breach
The new Deluxe Catalog âProject Breachâ is now available.
The catalog is filled with 10 pages of new exclusive cosmetic items for your own self expression.
Unlock the Deluxe Catalog using Murkoff Coins, earned by completing the Onboarding Catalog and other Deluxe Catalog.
Acquire Stamps by completing Trials and Tasks, then use the Stamps to acquired Deluxe Catalog items.
As a reminder, the Deluxe Catalogs are available permanently. Unlock items at your own pace.
New Limited-Time Event: Winter Kills
âWinter Kills is an experiment in hostile, unstable environments rich in both punishment and rewards. Survivors of Winter Kills will reap the bounty of true suffering.â
For the return of Winter Kills in The Outlast Trials, we've made all last year's rewards available again for all players, along with a variety of new rewards.
Experience the event by playing Trials in the program âWinter Killsâ.
Earn Event Tokens by completing Trials and Winter Kills tasks.
Use Event Tokens to unlock items of the Winter Kills catalog.
Winter Kills Variators:
COLLECT THE GIFTS: Collect all the gifts in the Trial to earn extra rewards.
COLD SNAP: The Trial environment is sporadically filled with piercing cold air. Hide to survive.
FROST MINES: Gas mines have been replaced with frost mines.
Event Schedule:
Part 1 will take place from December 10 - December 24
Part 2 will take place from December 24 - January 7
New Limited-Time Catalog: Winter Kills
A new Limited-Time Catalog is available for the duration of the event.
Player can spend their acquired event tokens in the time limited catalog to unlock exclusive cosmetics.
Earn Event Tokens and use them in the Event Catalog to unlock cosmetics.
Once the event ends, the catalog will be removed, and any unspent tokens will be lost.
New Enemy: Pitcher
A new Ex-Pop foe has joined the Trials, ready to stir up chaos!
The Pitcher occasionally appears in the Trials, armed with fiery tricks to keep you on your toes.
This cunning enemy wields a powerful ranged weapon, hurling Molotov Cocktails that explode on impact, creating dangerous zones of fire.
Stay sharp and keep your distanceâif you get too close, the Pitcher will unleash its fiery breath to roast you alive!
New Rig: Jammer
Noakes has been hard at work in recent months, crafting a brand-new rig for all Reagents to utilize.
Introducing the Jammer Rig, a versatile tool designed to disable electronic devices, unlock padlocked containers and doors, and much more.
Some of the Jammer Rig upgrades include PACEMAKER, which allows players to revive themselves or a teammate once per Trial, and REWIRE which turns enemy mines against them.
Perfect for engineers and strategic players, the Jammer Rig focuses on disrupting the Trial environment while securing extra loot for you and your teammates.
The new Jammer Rig is now available in Escalation Therapy.
New Amps
Dorris has secured fresh contraband for Reagents deemed worthy. Unlock these powerful new Amps to gain an edge in the Trialsâif youâve earned them.
SHORT CIRCUIT (Tool): Using a battery also restores some of the Rig's cooldown.
BANDAGES EXPERT (Medicine): Bandages are faster to apply, and can be used twice.
All the new Amps are now available in Escalation Therapy.
New Customization Types
The mirror menu in your personal room has been upgraded, offering deeper customization. Customization is now divided into three distinct categories: Appearance, Identification, and Behavior.
New customization types:
Icon Frames: Collect and equip unique frames for your player icon to stand out.
Terminal Poses: Choose from various poses to showcase in the Terminal menu.
Podium Poses: Equip emotes to play during the results screen at the end of a Trial.
New Reborn Conclusion
Experience a new intriguing fresh ending after releasing your Reagent.
Increase Max Therapy Level
The maximum therapy level has been increased to 75.
Improved Psychosis
The Psychosis state has been improved.
Tentacle Spawns: Strange, eerie tentacles now appear in the Trials while in the Psychosis state.
Psychosis Reset: All new sources of psychosis gas now reset the Psychosis duration.
Enemy Engagement: Enemies will actively target players in Psychosis state on Psychosurgery difficulty and during high escalation stages.
Enhanced Challenge: Skinnerman is tougher than ever on Intensive and Psychosurgery difficulties.
Improved Escalation Therapy
Reworked Escalation Therapy flow:
Stage 10: Now features a Story Trial at Intensive difficulty (previously Psychosurgery).
Stage 11+: From this point onward, difficulty is Psychosurgery and variators will always include ULTRA.
Reworked ULTRA Variator:
INCREASED THREAT: Maximum population of brutal enemies.
NO INTEL: Assignment details are absent from the Trial.
NO PLAYER NAMES: Player names are hidden.
EXTREME PSYCHOSIS: Keep your sanity because psychosis state is out of control.
LIMITED ITEMS: Amount of items found in the Trial is very limited.
Dev Comment: The ULTRA variator has been reworked to provide greater variety in variator combinations from Stage 11 and beyond. Previously, it consistently paired with exotic variators (e.g., Bomb), limiting diversity. This change aims to keep the experience fresh and challenging at high stages.
New In-Game Store (DLC Packs)
You can now purchase current and future DLC packs directly from within the game.
Head over to the Terminal to browse the full list of DLC packs currently available.
Stamps will no longer reset each season, allowing players to unlock all current and future Deluxe Catalogs with their accumulated Stamps. However, this does not apply to limited-time catalogs, which will remain available only until the associated event concludes.
New Padlocked Doors now appear in the Trials, blocking access between rooms. These doors can be unlocked using lockpicks or the new Jammer Rig.
The delay between the exhaustion penalty and sprint release time for stamina regeneration has been balanced.
A stamina system has been added to enhance gameplay of the Tennis Minigame.
Some Genesis and Reagent tasks have been updated to incorporate new content. Recompleting these tasks will grant the reward once more.
Added all new Trials and MK-Challenges into Escalation Therapy.
Double Doses (Amp): The syringe icon now updates to reflect the remaining doses.
Boosters and Masterkey can no longer be carried over from one Trial to the next in Escalation Therapy.
Event Badges are now displayed over the cosmetics in the Mirror Menu to illustrate their origin.
A new input option is now available to sort the displayed cosmetics in the Mirror Menu.
Reworked the locked containers in Trials:
Locked Medical Containers will always contain a Large Medicine and Bandages.
Locked Technical Containers will always contain a Rig Recharger and Full Battery.
Fixed a bug where âComplete 10 Trials in a Single Runâ of Escalation Therapy Tasks was not working correctly.
Fixed a bug where sometimes the enemies would become unresponsive.
Many other bug fixes.
Known Issues
Investigating an issue where players are unable to leave the âKill the Snitchâ Trial in Police Station and/or fall through the floor.
Investigating a collision issue with the Snitch cart and rolling gates which occurs in the "Kill the Snitch" Trial.
Investigating some issues with AI responsiveness.
Investigating reports of Reagents getting stuck in hide spots.
Investigating reports of Keys not dropping after a teammate dies.

Rumors of an escapee have started to spread inside the Sinyala facility amongst Reagents and staff alike. Murkoff has initially denied the claims, but during âProject Breachâ, players will meet Amelia Collier, an escaped Reagent living within the walls of the Trials.

Project Breach will introduce Ameliaâs story, along with a brand new trial, a new map, a new enemy Ex-Pop, a new Rig: the Jammer, a new release ending, and more when it launches December 10 at 10am EDT, on all platforms!

Winter Kills will be returning for its second year at the Sinyala Facility! Similar to the Geister event, the Catalog will feature old and new exclusive costemtic items.
The event will run with Part 1 taking place from December 10 - December 24; and Part 2 taking place from December 24 - January 7.
Winter Kills will feature a new variator FROST MINES which have replaced the gas mines that Reagents are used to seeing in Trials.
New Enemy: Pitcher
A new Ex-Pop foe has joined the Trials, ready to stir up chaos!

A new update is here for The Outlast Trials! Project Geister is in full swing at the Sinyala Facility! The Skinner Man is morphing and with further testing we're hoping to find out how our Reagents dreams are slipping into their terrifying reality... Gather yourselves and survive the Trials!

Project Geister is an experiment in convergent hallucinatory therapy designed to amplify unforeseen side effects of the Trials. Surviving subjects will learn to contribute to a morally hygienic Trial Environment through biohazard collection.
This marks the first return of a previous Event in The Outlast Trials. We've made all last year's rewards available again for all players, along with a variety of new rewards.
Experience the event by playing Trials in the program âGeisterâ.
Earn Event Tokens by completing Trials and Geister Tasks.

EXTRACT ORGAN SAMPLES: Find deceased reagents and extract organ samples for analysis.

A brand new Catalog is available for the duration of the time limited event.
Player can spend their acquired event tokens in the time limited catalog to unlock exclusive cosmetics.

New MK-Challenge
Eliminate the Past - Would you be able to destroy enough boxes in a given time to give yourself a chance to escape?
New Tasks
The Geister event introduces its own set of tasks.
Tasks are divided into two parts, with each task rewarding Event Tokens, Stamps, and a random Geister item.
Complete Part 1 of the Geister tasks to unlock Part 2.
Improved Jump Scares
Brace yourself, because the jump scares when your sanity isn't fully intact have been... enhanced.
Exceptionally, these jump scare enhancements also happen even at full sanity in the Geister Program, thanks to the âHallucinations?â variator.
New Sleep Room Minigame: Tennis
Developed by Noakes in his free time, the new minigame is the first digital video game created by Murkoff and offered exclusively to Reagents.
Additions/Fixes/Balancing
Events/Weekly Program tasks can now only be completed at Standard, Intensive, and Psychosurgery difficulty levels.
Stay Together (Variator): Damage is no longer applied to the last surviving player in the group, offering a chance for survival.
X-Ray: Teammates' dead bodies now appear in X-Ray view.
Variator: Updated the EXIT RUSH variator to âThe exit timer begins once the final objective is completed.â
Francoâs Tripwire: The tripwire laser is now slightly visible without Night Vision.
Players can now use Ping and Quick Comms in the Sleep Room while solo/without a group.
Time-Limited Catalogs now display a timer showing how much time remains before removal.
Player icon preview is now supported while browsing the Catalogs.
Fixed a bug that some Escalation tasks were not completing correctly for some users.
Fixed several tasks that were not functioning properly.

Following the recent cyber incident, our team has been focused on developing Season 2, the new features that will come with it, as well as some new aspects of the game coming next year.
