Today I released a new version of The Painter's Playground on steam that addresses several existing technical issues.
Warning: Your current temporary "work in progress" files will be invalidated by this update. So finish whatever you're doing before getting this. (no other files will be affected)
added: skip button for daily challenge: just go straight to daily challenge gallery
added: for now, everyone gets a new random ui every time they enter a painting screen. these will later be purchasable.
added: a prototype "level up progress bar"
added: many new steam achievements!
changed: level up screen format. each point is now a separate screen
fixed several security issues discovered by one of our awesome community members
fixed a server session time-out issue
fixed several leaderboard-related issues

` completely remodeled the level-up system, to include many more character levels, and space out the rewards.
` giving a painting a Thumbs Up now cost 3 Bits.
` voting on 3 paintings gives +1 renown per second for 12 hours.
` you can no longer vote / thumbs up on art that you own
` included 2 new steam achievements: lifetime renown earned and total votes cast / thumbs given. MORE TO COME!
` added new Showcase and For Sale boxes to your gallery
` fixed some issues with favorite colors being transferred between painting modes.
` fixed some issues with the tutorial. If you are STUCK in the TUTORIAL, press the SPACE BAR!
` changed the starting canvas (default) back to pure white. "realistic" will be a "setting" in future.
` fixed an undo error that switched data between different game modes.
` put the revised "water color brush" in the game.
` the game will now send you a welcome email when you create an artist identity.
` if you remember the artist name and email address you used, you can get an email of your password !
` leaderboards now show your score even if you are not in the top 10

DRM-Free Versions of TPP Will Be Available
Anyone interested in DRM-Free version of The Painter's Playground can simply follow us/wishlist over at Itch and/or Humble!
There is also a Humble Deluxe Version in the works which will include an art booklet featuring all the unedited oil paintings by Russell Murray. Plus two bonus paintings. This will also include thoughts/inspirations/lore/background text for each image.
The art booklet is something fans of oil paintings will probably enjoy browsing through. The DLC art booklet will also be available on Steam shortly after release.

Just had the best news ever today. We can confirm that we will in-fact have Steam Achievements!!
Also we've overhauled the sound effects with professionally done material. Very exciting stuff!
