The team are continuing to look at Manifest Card controller/keyboard input issues and working through the rest of the reported list.
Patch: 1.2.2.2

Patch notes for 1.2.2.00

Invalid crew with no afflictions should have the invalid status removed when loading into a save. - Better UX, explaining the Save Tree, and it’s ability to let you access locked saves by deleting the saves above it in the tree branch. - Popup when returning to the Main Menu to remind you that quitting mid week will loose your progress for that week of the expedition. - You can use the Ctrl key on keyboard to skip quickly through lots of dialogue without accidently choosing choices. (Same as B/Circle on controller) - Dogs replenish after the Ice Splitting event. - Fixed soft lock if you held E to advance the week after choosing to lock down for winter at the furnace. - Various Misc Bug Fixes.
Known Issues we’re prioritising for 1.2.3 - Any remaining Issues setting sail on the life boats, under specific circumstances. - Errors in the resource UI regarding dogs, being incorrectly calculated in the number previews.
1.2.1.00
- Fixed issue with Resource Cards in the crew manifest visually desyncing on rapid clicks. Cards now return instantly back to the manifest unless placed in a valid slot. - Fixed the amount of resources and crew not being visible when inspecting saves in the save tree. - Fixed soft locking issue where Runt being retrained as a doctor was preventing setting sail later in the game.
More fixes to come!

It's One Week Until the Launch of The Pale Beyond ⚓
Hello readers,
I’m happy to report it’s only a week until the launch of The Pale Beyond on the 24th of February. Soon, we’ll reach where the Viscount is supposed to be - who knows what we’ll find? I’ve got my camera ready for some incredible photos. Here’s some for the journal:
They’re pictures of the ice I’ve been taking. It’s getting incredibly cold as we reach the Pale Passage. The deck keeps icing over, and I even saw Templeton slip and fall. Nothing hurt but his pride, thankfully. Oh, did I mention...
The Pale Beyond is going to have a 10% launch week discount!
Don’t forget to tune into the launch day stream with Bellular Studios when the game launches on the 24th of February - I hope to see you there.

The Pale Beyond now Verified for Steam Deck ✅
Hello Readers,
I thought my camera was the latest technology, but I’ve only recently discovered an amazing new device called a ‘Steam Deck’! It’s an incredible handheld machine that lets you play Steam games on it wherever you like.
Doing some research, I’ve discovered that The Pale Beyond is fully compatible with the Steam Deck. Isn’t that amazing? It’s received a green tick, which means a “Verified” status. This means that if you own a Steam Deck, you can enjoy The Pale Beyond anywhere without any hassle.
Doesn’t it look great? I hope I can get some more time to investigate it thoroughly:
In addition to this, The Pale Beyond supports Cloud Saves - ideal if you want to play the game on your computer, then continue your adventure during a long ocean voyage on the Steam Deck! I’ve also found out the game features Achievements and Full Controller support as well.
So what does this “Verified” status mean for The Pale Beyond?
Is fully functional when using the default controller configuration
Shows Steam Deck controller icons
Features legible in-game interface text on the Steam Deck
Performs well with the Steam Deck on its default graphical configuration
On launch day, to find The Pale Beyond on your Steam Deck, simply press the “Steam” Button on your Steam Deck and select “Library”. The first category, “Great on Deck”, includes all the games you own with the “Verified” status - including The Pale Beyond (as long as you own it!).
