We are now 4 days in after release and the third bugfix update is already here. My aim is to release a patch a day for the first couple weeks to really get these bugs and glitches nailed before releasing any new content.
Thanks to everyone who is continuing to send in bug reports, it really helps speed up the process of tracking down issues and resolving them. Here's what I've managed to fix and improve over the last couple days...
Fixes for this update...
Fixed issue with chat not scrolling to the very bottom when it fills up with messages
Fixed issue with chat not refocusing player control after a message is sent
Item despawn timer reset to stop the issue with item's never despawning
Empty magazine items removed entirely as they are no longer required with the new weapon reload mechanics
Fixed issue with supply crates (loot boxes) being unbox-able twice if you were fast enough to click unbox twice
Reset reputation and XP gathering amount to normal (it had previously been set too high)
Fixed issue with players not being able to level up after reaching the next levels XP quota
Fixed multiple issues with missing collision boxes on the lighthouse, observatory, church and watch towers so you can no longer fall through walls, floors etc
Default graphics have been bumped up for those who for some reason cannot navigate a settings menu properly and find the graphics settings (please have a look, there is graphics customisation in the game if you look in the settings menu)
Campfires now correctly deal damage to entities when placed down and active
Fixed issue with other players hearing sounds from other players characters when they kill something
All buildables now play a sound when placed down and attenuation has been set an appropriate distance
Human blood texture has been made brighter red however emissive colour has been disabled which stops it glowing in the dark (mutant blood still glows green like it should though)
Quit button in death screen now shows loading screen upon clicking
Notes are now closeable when opened from the hotbar
Cursor now shows up when typing a message in chat so you can scroll back up the chat log to view older messages
Inventory screen and attachments screen now both animate when opened
Fixed issue when un-equipping clothing it now drops any items held currently in the slots that particular piece of clothing provided in the players inventory
You can now directly swap out a weapon or item of clothing from the inventory screen instead of having to dequip your current item then equip another. Simply equip anything you want and if you already have an item of that kind equipped it will swap it out for the new item you want to equip (might sound a bit complicated but trust me you will like this new system)
Ammunition bags are now openable and will give you a random number of ammunition magazines of varying types
This patch is quite a big one so it has taken 2 days instead of 1 to complete. I could have uploaded this half-done to get an update out yesterday but I figured it would be better to knuckle down and finish this list and take a little longer. Sorry for the wait, I will resume daily patches from now on.
Thanks for playing and I'll see you all tomorrow.
v0.5.2 Bugfix Update #2
Hi fellow survivors, I'm glad to release the next small patch for v0.5.2 which has introduced a brand new reload system which has replaced the outdated and non-user friendly old version. Multiple bugs regarding swimming and saving data have also been fixed.
Thanks for all the bug reports I have received, it is helping greatly in improving the game quickly.
Fixes for this update...
Players can now press 'R' to reload if they have a suitable magazine in their inventory for the gun they are currently holding (old manual reload system still in place so you can use either one)
Fixed an issue where the players oxygen meter would stay depleted causing suffocation when out of water
Fixed an issue where the players save data (inventory items, location) were not being saved
Inventory can now be opened using either the 'Tab' key or 'I'
Weapon magazines can now be refilled using appropriate ammunition boxes, ammunition is then transferred and saved to that weapon
Magazines are now detachable from weapons and refillable meaning they are no longer consumed and non-reusable when placed in a weapon
Lowered recoil on all weapons
Multiple items are now stackable
Backpack space increased across all backpacks
Death screen buttons aligned correctly
Quit button on death screen no longer has a delay before disconnecting you from the game
Next update will be tomorrow Jan 4th which will include several more bugfixes and game mechanic improvements. See you all then.
v0.5.2 Bugfix Update #1
The first of many updates has already arrived and after receiving both positive and negative feedback from players so far I can safely say that I have quite a lot of work to do, as I'm sure you will agree.
It's great to see so many people trying the game out and I thank those who have taken the time to leave a review whether it be a thumbs up or down, I appreciate the critiques nonetheless.
I am planning on getting as much done as possible this first week following release as I have already had numerous bug reports filed and many issues sent through regarding people not being able to play the game at all.
I apologise if the game has not met your expectations however please understand this is a one-man operation and as I know that does not excuse me from producing a below average product, I would like all players current and future to know that I am working extremely hard and have beein doing so for some time now to produce the game in its current state.
I hope you can stick around to support my development further and give the game a chance.
As for updates, expect several small patches in the coming week which will be addressing issues that have been reported so far. I will be working as fast as I can to ensure the game is fixed and as bug-free as possible.
Thanks for checking the game out, all update and game related news will be posted here as soon as it becomes relevant.
Fixes for this update include...
Fixed issue being able to aim down sight with weapons while swimming causing disorientation and incorrect animation playing
Fixed issue with intro being too loud
Fixed issue with being able to prone while crouched and vice versa which enabled a speedhack of sorts when proned being able to move at crouch speed and vice versa
Gameplay chat colour corrected to white and notification now shows when players join/leave your server

Hopefully the year will bring with it plenty of content updates and we will start gathering a following.
