The Pegasus Expedition Leaves Early Access on June 20!
Greetings, directors,
We did it, the Early Access journey is almost over! We are incredibly happy to announce that The Pegasus Expedition will be launched in all its beauty on June 20. Yaaaay!
We are so grateful that you, our beloved community, kept supporting us during our Early Access run, we wouldn't be able to make it this far without you!
Without further ado, enjoy the official Release Date Announcement trailer, we hope you like it!
The full version will bring the most unique scenario, The Purge, in which you get to play as the dreaded Biomass. Are you looking forward to dropping all the moral dilemmas of the main story and just be the baddies?
Besides that, the diplomacy system will receive a significant upgrade, as will the general enemy AI, and as usual, many bugs will be fixed.
Come share your thoughts on our Discord server, we really want to know how you like the game, or what features we could still improve, even after the full launch!
Last Early Access Content Update - The Exodus - Is Live!
Greetings Directors, We have officially entered the final stretch before full launch of The Pegasus Expedition - the last of the scheduled major Content Updates is here!
The Exodus is a new scenario bringing a serious twist to the traditional 4X gameplay; in it, the galaxy is being consumed by the unstoppable Biomass and all you can do is delay the inevitable. Your mission has failed, humanity is doomed, all you can do is run and survive for as long as you can. Fun, right?
But of course, the new scenario is not the only addition to the game. Most importantly, the combat system has undergone a complete overhaul and now you will have much more control over the strategy your fleets employ, along with an update to the tutorial reflecting that.
The galaxy is changing significantly as well, with an update to the galaxy generation, meaning that individual star systems will be more specialized in terms of resource production, reinforcing the importance of planning your colonies and structures, as well as the targets for your conquest.
And to make building your colonies up, there is a new Filtering feature, making it much easier to find the buildings you want.
But wait, there's more... Check out the complete changelog below! And if you like the new changes, consider leaving the game a Steam review, or come chat to the developers on their Discord server!

The Pegasus Expedition - hotfix
Greetings Directors,
We've managed to locate and fix a few issues you reported, so here's the hotfix! Thank you very much and, please, keep reporting those bugs, you can do that here on Steam or join our Discord server.
Change Log:
Fixed an issue that prevented players from receiving Anabah cutscene, thus soft-locking the game.
Fixed issue where AI would sometimes build fleets with non-existant units.
Fixed an issue where AI would sometimes "skip" over systems hostile to it.
“Story stops after Anabah” hotfix
Hello Directors,
We just wanted to inform you that the issue when story sometimes stops after the Anabah section has been resolved.
After the hotfix, the game is playable from a bugged save, but it is still preferable to use the manual fix we've mentioned in the previous article or to continue from a save before the battle of Anabah, as then the campaign will continue in the "correct state". Without doing either of those, the game now tolerates the wrong state but it may lead to some unforeseen consequences.
If you experience anything out of order, get in touch with us here on Steam or on our Discord server.
Thank you for your patience!
“Story stops after Anabah” bug solution
Greetings Directors,
Some of you have reported an issue where the storyline stops after completing the Anabah part of the game. We are already working on a solution but we want you to be able to play the game until we release the fix, so If you're experiencing this issue, please, follow these to fix the corrupted save file.
1. Start The Pegasus Expedition 2. Load a save after the Anabah Battle 3. Open Options/Settings, scroll down to “Use Save Compression” and make sure it’s turned OFF. 5. Return to Options/Save Game 6. Save your game, and name it for example “Post_Anabah_Fixed” 7. Open Options/Settings, scroll down to “Use Save Compression” and toggle that back ON. 8. Exit the game. 9. Find the save file, it’s usually in C\Users\Current User\AppData\LocalLow\Kalla Gameworks\The Pegasus Expedition\Saves. (You can copy-paste this to your file path: %AppData%\..\LocalLow\Kalla Gameworks\The Pegasus Expedition\Saves) 10. Open the save you created, Post_Anabah_Fixed, with a text editor. 11. Use Ctrl+F to find "DisabledEncounters". 12. Add to between square brackets [ ] the following: "FLEETS_IN_VEROAE", (including the comma) 13. Save the file. 14. Start The Pegasus Expedition and load the save you edited, Post_Anabah_Fixed.save.
We apologize for the inconvenience. If you need any more help with this specific issue or with anything else, get in touch with us here on Steam or join our Discord server.
The third Content Update "The Height of The Empire" is here!
Greetings Directors,
Allow us to introduce the third Content Update for The Pegasus Expedition, The Height of The Empire! In this new scenario, the Tamanin Empire stays unified against you, unlike in the main narrative campaign where it experiences a civil war and splinters into several smaller factions. You will have to face fierce opposition from them and be thrust into war immediately!
That's not all however, we have introduced a plethora of new features and changes based on your feedback. Among the highlights are an overhaul to the story consequences system, giving you a much clearer idea of how your choices impact the campaign; a brand new Veterancy system, which will make sure your units will improve their performance when they survive through many battles; a new governing tool, the Edicts, which will give you additional control over the happiness of your subjects and a new devastating option has been added to your arsenal, you can now use Thermonuclear weapons to turn the tide of battle, but incur a massive reputation penalty.
But there's more, check out the full list of changes below and don't forget to let us know what you think in the Steam discussions or ask the developers directly on their Discord server. And please, if you like the game, consider reviewing it here on Steam.
Added new thermonuclear weapons for players to use in combat. These devastating weapons take an equipment slot for each warhead and cause massive reputation penalties, but can single handedly turn around combats.
Added The height of the empire scenario.
Added visual effects to all combat interrupts.
Added option to automate interrupt usage in combat.
Added new visual effects for some alien cultures weapons.
Added new visual effects for the stars.
Added new effects for the biomass infestation and some bioweapons.
Added veterancy to all units. Units that fight and survive through many fights gain veterancy. Veteran units will perform better in combat.
Added a new “Edicts' ' system with 12 different edicts that can be used to better manage the empire and survive through the crises that may fall upon it. This system was especially designed to help address players issues managing happiness and is intended to work with it to create a much better experience.
Added a new “story consequences” feature that gives many of the games choices clear gameplay effects and clearly states them to the player.
Added the capability for players to automate their fleets upgrading and managing to reduce end game busywork.
Changes:
Happiness has been largely rebalanced and should feel much more sensible and predictable.
Updated Social media buttons in the menu.
Repair costs and time has been rebalanced to be more usable.
Updated fleet management UI elements.
Players can now zoom in much further.
Fixes:
Fixed issue where AI movement rarely crashed the game.
Fixed end cutscene voice lines sometimes playing at wrong times.
Fixed flickering issues with some UI elements.
Fixed issue where game would start without music.
Fixed issue where game could freeze at Anabah combat.
Many minor miscellaneous fixes and improvements.
The galaxy awaits your command, directors, so don't hesitate and lead the fleets to victory!
"The Height of the Empire" Content Update is Almost Here!
Greetings, Directors!
Development of The Pegasus Expedition is continuing fast, and the next Content Update, dubbed "The Height of the Empire", has entered the final stages of its testing process. If everything goes well, you will get to try the new scenario and many more additions to the game very soon.
We have had to reshuffle some priorities in the development however, and have updated the Early Access Roadmap - based on player feedback, we have decided to include several new features for this Content Update, such as a veterancy system for units, new "Edicts" system for additional control over your empire, new consequences (and better ways of communicating them) for many of the story choices, automation options for much of the endgame busywork. On top of that, repair costs and time, as well as the happiness system, have been rebalanced. And we managed to get many of the visual improvements scheduled for the next Content Update done in this one already too!
However, since we wanted to implement these changes into the game as soon as possible and get your opinions on them, we had to postpone the upgrades to faction AI and diplomacy to further down the line.
We can't wait to show you all the improvements and hear what you think about them - please, keep your feedback coming, whether here in Steam game reviews or discussions, or on the developers Discord server.
As the winter is coming to an end and the season of growth and rebirth is upon us, for the first time ever, Steam is celebrating this time of year with a Spring Sale. That means only one thing - discounts, discounts everywhere!
From now on until March 23 you can get The Pegasus Expedition for 15% off. That's a decent discount, don't you think?
