The Silent Kingdom

Steam Summer Sale and development news

[p]Hello, everyone! This is Lucky Cat, the solo dev behind The Silent Kingdom. I'll be making this post in English only again to save time. I apologise for the trouble.[/p][p][/p][p]First of all, The Silent Kingdom is participating in the Steam Summer Sale with a discount![/p][p][/p][p]I've been working on the next half of the game non stop. Mapping, programming, some script, and some graphics like sprite animations. Story wise, I might be halfway through chapter 2 (the Lectica arc). It's a lot of work because it has many new animations and maps. Several maps will be visited once and briefly, but they are necessary.[/p][p][/p][p]Here are some previews:[/p][p][/p][p]"I had never seen a bird eat a man."[/p][p][/p][p]This is one of the new NPCs you'll meet. Friend or foe?[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]As for CG/still art, So far I have 17 illustrations pending to draw. Since I tend to leave illustrations for last, I use embarrassing placeholder art while programming. Drawn with my mouse and my left hand.[/p][p]P-please don't judge me too harshly ;;;;[/p][p]When this CG is done in the future, I'll publish it. For now, your eyes can enjoy this timeless masterpiece before it disappears forever.[/p][p][/p][p]As you might know, the Early Access contains the prologue and the Fortuna arc. I'm currently working to make the Lectica and Somnia arcs together, so that I can finally update and release the game in its final form. I'm also trying to save up for Japanese voices. Getting all the funding I need for that will be tricker than I thought, but I'll see what my possibilities are when the time arrives.[/p][p][/p][p]For now, I'll keep focusing on my tasks at hand. One step at a time.[/p][p][/p][p]Thank you for your support and kind reviews! It always makes me happy to see that people are finding enjoyment in my game. I'll keep doing my best to see it finished![/p]

The Silent Kingdom development news

(This post will be in English only. I apologise for not translating it to the other languages, but writing the post several times takes a long time and I'd rather use that time for developing the game.)

Hello everyone! This is Lucky Cat, the solo developer behind The Silent Kingdom.

Since the launch of Early Access / Chapter 1, I've been working on the next part non stop. I've worked on the script (99 pages written so far, though I'm still not halfway), and also on some mapping and programming of the first scenes.

I'd like to talk about my plans with the development and final game launch.

First of all, there's some feedback I need to implement and a minor bug to correct in chapter 1. However, since I'm already developing the next part, I won't update the Early Access version further. So all the feedback will be implemented when the game fully launches.

As you might know, my plan is to work on the Lectica and Somnia arcs together, so the next time the game is updated it'll contain the whole story and endings. That'll be the official launch out of early access.

Chapter 1 improvements that I'd like to implement for the final game:

 • Increased ratio in which some enemies drop potions.
 • A certain part of a dungeon will be made a bit less dark.
 • A book item to access the batle tutorials any time.
 • Tweak some dialogue in Fortuna's castle to make it more obvious that the court is its own battlefield.
 • Correction of a bug that makes the princess walk slower during a certain scene.
 • Improvements of the Japanese translation.
(Maybe there's more that I might be forgetting right now ;;; )

New important features planned for the final game:

 • CG gallery.
 • Japanese voices!!!

About the Japanese voice acting, I've found the means and got a bit of funding for it, so it's 99% certain that it'll happen!! You can't imagine how excited I am; this is a huge dream for me.

With the current funding, however, I'll only be able to add voices to some scenes. I'll also be limited in what seiyuu I can choose. So, in case you played chapter 1 the Jack Sparrow way and liked it, please consider supporting the game hahaha. The more funds it raises now, the better the final version will be for everyone.

To all the people who supported the game and let me know of their impressions and feedback, I can't state enough how thankful I am. Every time someone tells me that they enjoyed the journey, I feel renewed energies to keep working hard on it, as all of you have made me believe in this project more than ever.

Thank you very much. And off to work I go!

The Silent Kingdom OST now available

Hello, everyone!

The Silent Kingdom's soundtrack, composed by Mikel Dale, is now available at several streaming platforms like Spotify.

There are some tracks left from the game that will be released on a future album, along with new tracks from the following chapters.

I'm already working on the script for the next part. My current plan is to make the two remaining chapters together, so the game will come out of Early Access and be complete in its next major update.

I'm also reading all the feedback. Apart from adding a gallery, I'll change other details such as increasing the rate of potions dropped by enemies in order to make battles easier, or clarifying more explicitly what happens in a certain scene in Fortuna's castle.

Thank you for enjoying this journey, I'll keep working hard on this!

CG gallery?

Hello everyone!

I'd like to start by saying that I'm insanely happy with the warm reception the game has received. I'm getting a lot of positive feedback both on Steam and other media, and that makes me feel that all the effort I've put into this project has been very worthwhile.

I wanted to talk about one of the requests I'm getting the most: a CG gallery.

It's actually something I've wanted to add from the beginning, for the game has a lot of CGs and I think it's fun to collect them. If I haven't been able to do it yet, it's because I don't know coding and also didn't know anyone who could help me, but now I have several people who've offered to help me with coding issues.

I just wanted to let you know that the gallery is on its way, and my plan is to have it implemented by the time chapter 2 is released.

I'll keep listening to all the feedback to improve the game as much as I can, within my humble limitations.

Thank you again, and I hope you keep enjoying this story as much as I'm enjoying making it!

The Silent Kingdom has launched as Early Access!

I'm extremely happy to announce that The Silent Kingdom has finally launched as Early Access!

This Early Access version contains the prologue seen in the demo and Chapter 1, which tells the whole story that happens in the kingdom of Fortuna.

From now on, I will continue working on chapter 2 and 3, where the game will reach its completion.

I hope everyone enjoys this journey. Thank you for your support!!

The Silent Kingdom & The Storyteller's Festival

I'm happy to announce that The Silent Kingdom is participating in The Storyteller's Festival on Steam!
If you want to see many awesome narrative games, you can't miss this event.

There's just 1 day left for The Silent Kingdom's launch as Early Access. I'm both excited and nervous, I hope everything goes smoothly!

Thank you for your support and see you tomorrow~

Demo updated with Japanese language

Hello everyone!

Preparing for the Steam RPG Maker Festival, The Silent Kingdom demo has been updated with a new selectable language: Japanese.

The game is being translated by a Japanese native speaker, and although the translation of chapter 1 is not finished yet, I will do my best to complete my part of the work and have it ready on 18 February, when the game releases in Early Access.

Apart from the language, the demo has also been updated with minor changes:

 • Three cats have been added to Crystaria Castle.
 • The sound of running footsteps has reduced its speed.

Early Access is just around the corner. I'm very excited and scared to death, to be honest.
As always, thank you all for your support!

The Silent Kingdom release date

Hello, everyone!

I'm very happy to announce that The Silent Kingdom will release as Early Access on 2025, February 18.

This Early Access version will contain both the prologue and Chapter 1, and will be updated with two more chapters as soon as possible.

If you were expectant to know the continuation of the story, your journey will continue very soon!

The Silent Kingdom plans for 2025

Happy New Year!

I want to give the notice that The Silent Kingdom - Chapter 1 is aimed for...February! Which is the next month! The final, full date should be revealed in a couple weeks.

Remember that the game will release as an Early Access on Steam, and will be updated when I finish the next chapters.

I also want to announce that a Japanese translation is in the works! (My dream come true hahaha.)

My current work these days is to add both the English and the Japanese translations to the game, which is a really huge task that put me in crunch for a while. There's still a lot to do, so I might have to go back to crunch again soon ;;

If everything goes well, the game will release in three languages:

Spanish (EU)

English (EU)

Japanese

Thank you for your interest and patience! I'm very excited to show this story to everyone, and I'll continue working hard to make this game as good as I can.

The Silent Kingdom, Chapter 1 NEWS

Hello, everyone!

During the week of Steam Next Fest, The Silent Kingdom has gained a lot of visibility and its wishlist has surpassed the 20k mark. For a solo indie developer like me, that number is more than I could ever dream of. Thank you so much to all of you who have shown interest in the game!

I'm pleased to announce that I'll have completed the development of Chapter 1 in a month and a half.

After that, all that'd remain would be the English translation and a subsequent closed beta for Kickstarter backers.

If my calculations go well and everything concludes correctly, Chapter 1 could release in the first quarter of 2025.

I cannot give an exact date yet because the translation work does not depend on me, it is an external factor, but I am in communication with an agency that could speed up that part.

I'll keep working hard. It's almost done!
