Surprise early update! Two game crashes were found, and I don't like letting any known crashes live for too long, so I moved this update up by a week. I'm aiming for July 19th for a proper version 8.10.

Blessings and Burdens
A problem that I've run into a few times is the limited amount of space in the text box that holds all the gift effects. (This is not about the card itself, but the big box with more descriptions you can find in the collection and various other places.) This is especially a problem with many of the burdens that have all sorts of unique and longer to explain effects. It got even worse when it was brought to my attention that some words are just WAY longer in other languages! So, I finally made that text box scrollable!
This was really REALLY hard to do, and I had to make it work in several different menus that all function a little differently, so I didn't have time to finish a bigger piece of content this time. But these are the rare times where I can actually focus on a batch of new gifts. I have 17 new Blessings and Burdens for you! The blessings are related to the main 3 shot types that didn't have enough gifts dedicated to them in The Towers mode before.
All the new burdens have relatively low stake effects, and they must be unlocked first. It might seem strange to want to unlock burdens, but I'll only do this with weak effects that you'd probably prefer over most of the other ones. There won't be too many more of these, and the total amount of burdens will end up lower than the total blessings.

When checking a gift's detailed effects list, it is now possible to scroll through the text if it does not fit on one page. This took a really long time to do, so you have to find a gift like this and scroll through all the text while complimenting it!
Added more details to several gift descriptions that didn't have enough room to show more details before
Bug Fixes
Bug Fix: After a battle, the particles created by your heart would continue to spawn off-screen potentially crashing the game if you stay on the result screen for a few hours
I'll skip the "upcoming list" section since nothing on it was finished this time. I do want to finish a few more gifts that I have planned, so I'm going to drop as many as I can in 1 week on June 28th!

I often think about how there are certain monsters that only a tiny fraction of players will ever see. Most players will never go far enough into the unlocking chain to reach this new battle. But part of the whole appeal for me is to make it feel like the unlocks are endless and unique. Even though making a game be truly endless is not actually possible, I am proud of just how long you can keep going while finding new and unique designs. Even though only a small fraction of you will ever see it, it was worth all those hours of work on this battle just for the few of you that find it!

This patch adds support for community translations. Russian language was already done by a few brave enough to tackle the tens of thousands of words! But due to the frequency of my updates, no language other than English will be officially supported until the whole game is done. Since the translations are done by the community for now, they will always have to translate changes and new text after each update is live. Case in point, even this small patch needs the translators to add text from new menu options before it becomes usable.
For now, if you would like to try the Russian language, or if you would like to attempt a different translation, you will have to look in the game's official discord. (The link is in a pinned forum post) Although, it should be noted that Japanese, Chinese, and any other language that will require a different font is not yet supported, but soon.
The other big thing in this patch is that most battle songs have a new alternative starting point. If you hear a song again in the same run, it will have a new intro that leads to some point in the middle of the song! Probably some parts you didn't get to hear often before! Each song will alternate intros every time you hear it within the same run.

This patch is a little different. This patch is on a beta branch to make sure nothing is broken by the new GameMaker update which changed the way some things work internally. One of the new functions they added is borderless window mode, so I naturally put that in as an option immediately! The beta is public and has no password, just right click the game on steam > properties > Betas, and you'll find it there.
When I'm confident that nothing has been broken (or after I fix anything that was broken), I will merge the beta branch back to the main branch automatically and you won't have to do anything. If you want to help me out, just join the beta and play like normal. If any crashes do happen just post the log message that should pop up on the screen.
