TheoTown x anime
Hello everyone,
We are very excited to announce a major update to the game that we believe will take it to the next level, literally. After careful consideration and feedback from our players, we have decided to incorporate anime graphics into TheoTown.
Starting today, you will see new and improved anime-style graphics in place of the old pixelated ones. The new graphics are vibrant, dynamic, and will bring a whole new level of excitement to your city building experience.
As part of this update, we are also introducing a new gacha system where you can select a mayor for your city with special abilities and anime-style graphics. These mayors will come with unique skills and designs that will make your city stand out.
We are also pleased to announce that the game in the coming days will be rebranded and known officially as "TheoTown x anime". This title represents the merging of two unique worlds: the retro pixel graphics of TheoTown and the colorful, animated world of anime. Just the way you all like it!
We want to thank our amazing team of developers and our designers (Kulche) who worked tirelessly to make this happen. We also appreciate the feedback and support from our players, who helped us make this decision.
As part of this update, we have also replaced the profile pictures in the TheoTown Forum with anime avatars to match the new theme. We hope you enjoy this new update and look forward to your continued support.

For Linux and MacOS users: The source of the storage location path was changed from system wide to $HOME environment variable to support embedded environments like e.g. running Steam via snap.
If your game data is missing you may have to migrate it to the new location manually. That new location depends on the value of $HOME that applies to the game. The old storage location will always be /home/user/TheoTown
