The time has come! Following just over a year in Early Access, This Means Warp 1.0 is ready and waiting for you to jump in!

Thanks for all of your support, feedback, and suggestions during Early Access! The game has come on a huge amount and we're delighted to deliver the full vision of This Means Warp, which will also be coming to Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch later this year! Visual Overhaul


After months of work we can finally reveal This Means Warp's brand new look! The user interface across the entire game has been completely redesigned, including new menu flows, graphics, animations, and effects.

Battery Ship


This Means Warp is also launching with a brand new player ship! In addition to different visuals and an updated layout, the new ship also features auto-reloading guns powered by a unique power generator system. You'll need to carefully manage power across each of the ship's three sectors, and can overcharge a sector to give a temporary boost to all of the systems in that sector!



New Scenarios


Test your skills with four more unlockable scenarios, each tailored to push the limits of the new ship. The new scenarios also come with unique ship tints so you can personalize your ship with an even broader array of color options.

Additional Languages


This Means Warp is now available in more languages, with French and Brazilian Portuguese added to the existing list (English, German, Spanish, and Simplified Chinese).


And of course these build upon the multitude of features that have been added throughout Early Access:

  • New Scenario game modes to experiment with different playstyles
  • Lots of updates to crew AI, including granular control, crew levelling up, more intelligent decision making, and more
  • Dozens of new missions, enemies, and weapons
  • A totally revamped ship mod system
  • New ship systems, including the most-requested player feature - the teleporter for ship-to-ship boarding!
  • More variation in map modifiers, upgrades, ship mods, dialogue options, etc
  • Unlockable character cosmetics
  • Quality of life improvements like inspecting an installed system, shop rerolling, skipping cutscenes, etc

This Means Warp v1.0 Coming On May 4th!

The time has come! We're delighted to announce that This Means Warp's 1.0 release will be coming on May 4th, 2023!



As you may have noticed from the trailer, the 1.0 release will also contain some exciting updates to the game including the oft-requested second player ship!

Thank you for all of your input and feedback during Early Access! The game has come on leaps and bounds since it's Early Access debut last year, and we're excited to share the 1.0 release with everyone.

As a quick recap, during Early Access the game has seen:

  • New Scenario game modes to experiment with different playstyles

Update 4 Has Just Gone Live!

We've spent the last few months working on This Means Warp's biggest ever update, and are looking forward to hearing what you think!

Boarding


One of the top player requested features finally arrives in This Means Warp! The new Teleporter system enables players to board and cause havoc on enemy ships, but be careful - enemy crews might do the same to you!

Cosmetics


This Means Warp now has hats! Unlock a selection of hats and accessories to outfit your characters and show off the coolest croc in the galaxy. All cosmetics are free to unlock - no microtransactions or lootboxes!

Ship Mods


The Ship Mod system has been completely overhauled, with players able to install new rarity-based modifiers in one of three available slots. Mods are also purchasable from the shop, and feature several new variants to help build synergies with the systems on your ship.

New mods include:

  • Mutiny - an enemy crew member will turn against their own ship for a short duration
  • Evasion - enemy projectiles miss for a short duration
  • Improved tick rate for beam guns
  • Increased damage for ricochet projectiles
  • Increased radius for AOE projectiles
  • Increased damage multiplier on weakened systems
  • Increased slow effect for slowed systems
  • Faster gun overheat recovery
  • Faster timers on offensive bombs

Other Improvements


Improved AI


Faster decision making, intelligent repair prioritisation, new AI for boarding other ships, dropping packages rather than destroying them, and more!

Balance overhaul


The new mod system leads to a lot more opportunities for synergy and ramping up your ship's power, so the game's balancing has also been updated to include updated shop prices and reroll system, enemy health changes, and tweaked difficulty.

2x New sector mods


Maps that increase the risk of permanent damage, or randomly set fire to systems on both the player and enemy ships.

2x New weapons


The Grenade Launcher lobs AOE grenades, and the Rainbow Laser fires lasers with random effects each round.

10x New missions


Includes unique characters, visuals, and backgrounds.

Lots of minor bug fixes




With Update 4 we feel This Means Warp is in great shape for full release, and look forward to sharing some special surprises for the 1.0 update later this year.
