Party time! A guide

Social Guide
How to add friends, send invites and join parties!

Having trouble setting up a party with your friends to join you on your journey through Solarus? Do not fret! This helpful guide should make your quest easier for you to focus on your mission.

How to send a friend request and set up a party
First of all, you should know that you have access to your “social menu” by opening up the “main menu” and going to the “social tab”, alternatively you can press [O] on your keyboard (or the left directional analog button on your gamepad) for quick access.

Once you are on your “social menu”, on your left you should be able to see the option to add a player by name, be sure to type the exact username as the player that you want to add to your friendlist. Once you finished typing, press the [Add Friend] button below the search bar, that will send them an invite. If they correctly received an invitation from your end you’ll see a confirmation message on the bottom left corner of the menu.

If they accepted the invitation, you should be able to see them on your friend list, located at the right side of the social menu. Here you can also see which one of your friends is currently online. To send them an invitation to join your party you need to click on the icon located on the right side of their name.

If they accept your invitation, they'll join your party. A notification will pop up on the top left corner of your screen anytime someone joins your party. You can see the members of your party on the left side of the social menu. From there you can also kick party members out of your group by pressing the kick button. Bye, friends!

How to accept a friend request

Go to your social menu to see if you’ve received any friend requests. On the right side of the social menu you should be able to see all of your pending friend requests. The two icons located right next to their name are the options to accept or to reject a request. If you accept the request they’ll be added to your friend list.

How to accept a party invite

A notification will pop up from the top of your screen if you’ve received a party invite. You’ll have the option to accept or to reject. If you accept the invitation you’ll join their party as a member and will be able to join the same adventures as your friends!

Full Demo Version of Those Who Came: Healing Solarus is now available

Dear explorers of Planet Solarus 👽

As the almighty date of our final launch approaches, we are eager to announce major news in our endeavour. It has been a thrilling ride on our rockets, ready for the next chapter that the indie development world is ready to bring us.

March had been a month of showcasing the new prospects for Those Who Came: Healing Solarus inside the Game Developers Conference Spanish Pavillion, in San Francisco. We had the amazing opportunity to show the fruits of the massive feedback we gathered all these months, resulting in a Demo we’d love players all over the world to enjoy!

Consequently, the jump of improvement in all aspects of the product has led us to the final decision of closing Early Access to the public, as we feel the product we had does differ greatly from the final title you will all be able to see during summer. Instead of focusing our energy on small updates of the Early Access title, we prefer focusing on the final product. Fasten your seatbelts, great things are about to arrive!

THOSE WHO CAME CLOSES EARLY ACCESS

But what does this mean for our loyal players?

If you purchased Those Who Came or you have a Key code, you will have access to the title once the date of our final launch ignites and publishes the game in our store.
By now, we will also ensure that you are able to play the Demo version available.

In the meantime, we encourage you to play the Demo we have prepared with all our Energy (pun intended). If you have any technical questions, don’t hesitate to ask! We would be happy to assess you through them all.

NEW DEMO AVAILABLE

The Demo of Those Who Came: Healing Solarus is a special map created for this Demo, closely related to the game’s narrative and presenting key elements of both mechanics and a mysteriously important character you should beware. Your main goal is to discover why Solarus is corrupted and help the planet regain its past splendor with what you have at hand.

Oh, explorers, don’t forget you can review the Demo for the sake of our future missions! We encourage you to bring your word of explorer.

Last but not least, we would like to thank everyone involved, from other developer teams to the amazing community and loving curators, in all the feedback that has led us to polish our game to the maximum level possible. We could not have done it without you!

KEY FEATURES FOR THE FULL RELEASE:

  • Choose your own style by using the energy with the different shapers: Airy, Ether, Firei and Jointer.
  • Explore and find the different suits to interact with the world and restore life in Solarus to turn it into your new home.
  • The more you heal, the better it gets. By caring for the planet, you will be able to face the final challenge with some advantages.
  • Play either alone or along with your friends, into a campaign with plenty of challenges to stop Bineok and his final experiment.
  • Dive into our Arcade mode, where you can face your friends in competitive PVP arenas. Harness the versatility of all 4 energies using them creatively on other players.

Back from the Future of Gaming

Greetings, explorers!
Just a week ago the Game Developers Conference at San Francisco closed its doors in California. After the attendance of the Videogame Industry's various Media and Influencers at the fair, some data has taken both assistants and followers of the event off guard.

Truth is that in comparison with the previous fair held during 2019, and where nearly 30K Industry professionals attended, 2022's GDC only reached 12K assistants in real life. A not so promising data for the Gaming world, even less when we take the recent news of this years' E3 cancellation into account.

Nevertheless, with all the technological novelties, technical advances and a COVID-19 crisis almost under control, the future of gaming has all the cards on favor for a revival during next editions of the fair. The words of GDC 2022's GDC organiser Katie Stern confirm: “The learnings, accomplishments and people that have made up GDC 2022, have made it clear that the video game industry community is stronger than ever and we’re already so excited for what is to come in GDC 2023.”

We must highlight that Rolldbox Games has attended as an expositor for the first time at the Spanish Pavillion, presenting the Demo of the polished product that soon will be Those Who Came, and it was greatly welcomed! Soon this Demo will be live here on Steam for all gamers to play!

Overall GDC 2022 has been a beautiful experience that we hope we can retake the upcoming year 2023.

See you next year, GDC!

In the meantime, why don't you join our Discord community today for more feedback and in real time chats with devs? We welcome all feedback 24/7!!

Happy gaming!
