Update to Planned North American East Coast Server Introduction

Hi guys.

Thanks for all of your considered and respectful feedback following yesterday’s NA East server announcement. It’s clear that you care about the game and its future, and we appreciate you taking the time to let us know how you feel.

Apologies if we have appeared silent on this matter, this is because we have been carefully reviewing the community’s feedback across various channels. It’s clear that there is a serious concern among you that splitting the playerbase at this stage would have a harmful effect on the game. From our side, we have recently seen an increase in the amount of players logging in to the NA server, and you may have noticed an increase in Tiger Knight marketing (including more exposure on YouTube, etc). As this continues, we wanted to ensure that both our existing players and new arrivals are greeted with an acceptable level of performance.

However, player feedback has always been, and will continue to be, extremely important to us. For this reason we have decided not to go ahead with the planned NA server split. Instead, we will be utilizing a system whereby the new NA East server (and existing NA West server) will be an in-game option during match-making, providing East coast players an optimal battle experience – however all players will log into and communicate on the same server.

This option was already prepared as our “Plan B” for the North American servers, but some final technical hurdles had to be overcome. Following community feedback, our developers focused on working out a suitable way to implement this system, and we are confident that we have now achieved this. This will be the system implemented during today’s maintenance, with additional time likely needed to bring the servers back online.

We hope the above solution will provide an acceptable alternative to the previously announced server split. Please continue to leave your feedback and thoughts, as we will be monitoring this closely in the days and weeks ahead.

A quick ammendment to the new expansion to the NA server. A couple of issues have become apparent as we prepare to restore access to the servers:

1) For the moment, the new NA East option will only be selectable for Command Mode
2) Play vs AI will not be available as an option when using the NA East server. This means that brand new players will need to initially choose NA West.

Both of the above functionality will be added as soon as possible (hopefully within a week or so).

Update Announcement(0.1.76)


Dear gamers,
In order to update Tiger Knight to version 0.1.76, we will be bringing our servers down for maintenance on 28th February 2017.
Servers will be unavailable for approximately 3 hours, with the exact times as follows:

Asia server:2017/2/28 15:00-18:00(GMT+08:00)
NA server:2017/2/27 23:00 - 2017/2/28 02:00(PST)
EU server:2017/2/28 07:00-10:00(GMT)


If it fails to update normally please close Steam and relog in.

Update Content


The Play VS. AI option is now available for the Intermediate Battlefield.
A Top-up Activity will open from Feb 28th to March 27th. Charging any amount of money (including purchasing DLC), you will get a 3 day VIP card and a Ghost Summoning Shield for free!

Adjustments


We have adjusted the total military power in Siege Mode according to the changes in units’ levels:

  • The total military power is changed from the former fixed value into a dynamic value based on the total number of soldiers in a team.
  • Personal military power is now capped and diversified according to the number of soldiers going onto the battlefield. When the loss of soldiers reaches the cap, they will not be able to conscribe (but respawning for generals is not affected).


Soldiers:

  • In order for soldiers to better protect the general, infantry formations have been adjusted to where the general stands. These formations are: Wing Formation, Wedge Formation and Solid Square Formation.
  • On the Basic Battlefield the damage dealt by soldiers to the player is increased by 30%.
  • Close combat infantry will do 15% more damage on horses.


Battlefield:

  • The open time for stronghold has been amended to 2 minutes.
  • The occupation time for stronghold is 7 minutes.
  • The deployment time before battle is decreased to 30 seconds.


Others:
<*>Added an option to increase Soldier Filter in the Barracks.
<*>After being successfully matched in Command Mode, if the player does not choose the unit in time, the system will choose the first unit from the left by default.
<*>If the matchmaking time exceeds 5 minutes, the system will prompt an option to join a new round of matchmaking.
<*>The time duration for soldiers to use Charge and Throw Charge can be disrupted by other skills.


Bugs Fixed


Players cannot join match-making for Epic War when teamed up if they do not have units from the Basic Battlefield.
When the player goes offline in Charge, the game cannot finish normally.
Players may fail in killing Dong Zhuo in PVE Mode.
The morale outburst skill of Auxiliary Swordsmen is invalid.
The attack range of javelin is abnormal in melee wars.
Some of the armors display the wrong information.

New NA East Server Opens This Tuesday

Dear Players,

Following our weekly maintenance on Tuesday 28th February, we will be opening a new North American server (East Coast), while also addressing a number of existing connectivity issues.

Existing NA West player data will be copied to NA East so that players can continue immediately on the new server, however from then on player data will not be synced between servers.

Asia Server Network Fluctuation Announcement

Dear Asia Server Players,

As we will be performing server optimizations from 04:00 to 06:00 (GMT+8) on Feb 28th, you may notice some slight performance fluctuations.

Hi everyone!

Immediately following the release of our Rome update we created a thread to gather your thoughts and suggestions. This was a good way to gauge immediate reactions to the new content, and you provided some extremely valuable feedback across more than 10 pages! We’ve tried to address as many as possible below:

Q:Can we add a full screen option to the frontend?
A:This is part of our plan, but it will take some time to implement.

Q:The new UI is not user-unfriendly!
A:We will continue to improve and adjust the User Interface to make it more intuitive and easier to navigate. Please continue to submit suggestions around this.

Q:Show the mini-map before the game begins – the map name alone is insufficient.
A:Not a bad idea! We will review the possibility of adding this.

Q:Can you allow for 6 person premade teams?
A:There are currently no plans to increase the size to 6, and for the moment the team size maximum will remain at 5.

Q: More Roman formations please!
A: More formations will be added to the Romans, as well as to the other forces in the game. We plan to keep on improving the Rome content.

Q:The difficulty of the new PvE map needs balancing.
A:Our next plan is to adjust the gains in Command Mode and Epic War. The plan for Command Mode is to improve the overall gains of players. If the player is prone to teamwork in battles, such as rescues for example, then not only himself but the whole team (if they win) will benefit from his actions. Even if they are defeated, the player can still help the team to resist the enemies and thus achieve more gains. And the average gains of each battle pool will be balanced instead of relying on the damage the players can cause, making sure that the gains of each unit will be the same.
The gains of Epic War will be calculated according to the number of each team, the difficulty of the battle and the time they take in completing the game. The player will get more gains if he can help the team get through the battle in less time. Each PVE battle open to different numbers of people will have corresponding rules on the high score.

Q:The game should provide further clarification on the new tier grouping system.
A:We hope the battle capacity of the units within the same group is balanced, and that the types of units and tactics on the battle field are more diversified. For example, units of T5 and T7 are basically the same in strength; they are just positioned and used in different ways. Their gains are also the same even if there is still some imbalance in the current version of game. We will keep on balancing the units in the coming updates as much as we can.
Think of it this way, the current battle field consists only of T1 to T3, not T1 to T10. That is why we have cancelled the sign of T1-T10, leaving only the sign of 3 levels of stars.
A player’s win-rate and whether they are in a group will also be added into the matchmaking, so that all players can find the right rivals.

Q:More performance increases are needed – I’m experiencing fps drops.
A:We have learned that quickly rotation your view will cause fps drops, and we are trying to fix this bug as soon as possible. The current game version is CPU intensive, and a stronger CPU can improve the fps effectively. We plan to continue optimizing the game.

Q:Save and auto-select the most recently used unit.
A:We will implement this into the game. We suggest you to set the most often used unit as your main force. The system will choose the first unit in the barracks by default.

Q:Regarding the new EXP share system, now players just play the strongest tier to unlock all others.
A:The soldiers should not be able to crush others in the same group, and the gains for each are not different. We hope you can see the fighting capacity of soldiers according to the new division of battlefield, instead of the old ten tiers. We will keep on balancing the units on the same battle field.



We hope that the above helps to address some of the immediate concerns you had upon launching into the Rome content.
But now that the update has been in your hands for almost a week, and you have had time to weigh up how the new additions impact the game as a whole, we are once again interested in your feedback.

Hotfix Announcement

Dear players,

We identified a number of issues which we were able to resolve in a hotfix. As such, the servers did not need to be taken offline while the fix was deployed.

These issues were:
- Players could not disband troops while part of a group
- Two groups of units using Charging Throw at the same time could cause the client to crash
- Sudden lag could cause the last soldier enlisted from a Recruitment Site to become stuck.

These issues should now be fully resolved, and we apologize for any inconvenience caused.

Match-making failed to account for the highest tier of troops in a team.

The Crossbow Shield Array couldn't be used.
Following match-making for a new battle, soldiers could still be sold.
Various issues after using a VIP card.
If piercing through teammates, weapon damage on enemies would be lowered.
Incorrect information on Rome one handed sword.
