Hello everybody! Long time no see!

Here's a new patch to soothe everyone's hearts!

Winter Sale


It's no secret to anyone that Winter Sale is coming up on Steam.
Many, many games are going on sale. I am not going to say which game is going on sale, but a certain game is going on sale this Christmas 😉. So keep your eyes peeled.

I am theoretically not allowed to talk about the Winter Sale, like it's an industry secret? Everyone knows about it, though, and I'm not releasing any specifics.

Bugfixes


- Changed Omnicrown so it no longer goes out of screen (thus causing the player to not be able to close the popup)
- Fixed Tooth of Insomnia not being consumed when entering the Somnium
- Fixed the King vs Marceline event appearing in runs even after you defeated either of them
- Fixed the Captain Stashton fight showing you the same cutscene multiple times
- Fixed a VFX remaining on the screen when using Barrel and Ice Cube
- Also fixed Barrel and Ice Cube positioning bugs
- Updates

Monster Balance Changes


Updated some of the Tier 3 monsters; they should now be a little more challenging to fight (improved defenses for Wraith, Zombie Peasants, Driders, Spine Skulls, and Crystal Golems and for the final boss).

Hero Balance Changes


Changed the rarities of several hero spells to be more fun or better match the power level of those spells.

Knight Chances


- Smite Damage 25% -> 15%, Mana Cost 4 -> 6

Ranger Changes


- Cobra Shot Mana Cost 5 -> 3, Cooldown 4 -> 6
- Bear Trap Range 4 -> 6
- Triple Arrow Mana Cost 8 -> 7
- Flare Shot Damage 90% SP -> 120% SP, armor/dodge debuff 15% -> 25%
- Rangers should now find Fox Companion easier, too.

Mage Changes


- Flame Dagger damage 150% ATK -> 165% ATK, Cooldown 1 -> 2
- Mana Ward shielding 50% Mana -> 40% Mana, Mana Cost 4 -> 5
- Magic Arrow Damage reduced by 1
- Siphon Mana Cooldown 3 -> 4
- Blink Cooldown 5 -> 6
- Iceberg Drop Mana Cost 8 -> 9

Mobile Testing


The Mobile Release might be delayed until January, with all the testing.

Small Updates and Mobile Anouncement

Hello!

Today I bring a small, quality of life update and news about the porting of Tilefinder to mobile.

Mobile Porting


I am finishing setting up the Google Play App and will release it to Early Access as soon as possible!

I have thought about the pricing and monetization of it for quite a while and I have reached a conclusion: Tilefinder will be free* with ads for Android.

The Android version will be called Tilefinder: Roguelike RPG and will be a slightly lighter version of the PC one. The PC release of Tilefinder will always have priority over the mobile one. The PC version will also have PC-only exclusive features and will receive updates faster and more frequently.

Patch Notes


- Finishing the tutorial no longer redirects you to the menu. It immediately starts a new run (people thought the tutorial was the whole game...)
- Item rarity glows should now be more visible
- Fixed some UI issues
- Fixed some typos

Do let me know what you think about the mobile release and, as always, hit me up as soon as possible if you encounter any issues with this update since I modified some of the client infrastructure to accommodate future mobile features.

Update 2022-09-01 (Silence, UX, Bugfixes)

Hello, everyone!

Here are the patch notes for the current update:

Silence!


Many enemies are now affected by Silence (not being able to cast spells).
Silence interrupts magic spells being cast and prevents some spells.
To offset this, some enemies (mostly bosses) are now immune to Silence.
Enjoy!

Quality of Life


- Good spells no longer display the "!" (friendly fire) indicator
- Updated several UI elements

Bugfixes


- Fixed special spells being offered when not supposed to
- Fixed green spikes wrong height offset
- Fixed rewards screen sound effects not working properly
- Fixed units remaining crouched if their spell was interrupted
- Fixed some wrong icons for certain items

Update 2022-08-24 (UX, Boss Rework, Many Bugfixes)

Hi!

In the past week I've been working on identifying the most frustrating bugs in the game and I managed to fix 4 causes of crashes!
This is all thanks the all the people who have reported these crashes and bugs!

So, keep it up!
Whenever you find a bug or crash, send it to me ASAP with a screenshot and a log file, which can be found in the game folder/Assets/Data/Logs and pick the latest log file, corresponding to your gameplay session that crashed.

Without further ado, here's the update:

Update 2022-08-24:

Something Dark Looms Over the Fields...


Pumpzilla is awakening.
I reworked the first phase of the first boss since it was the first one I ever made and the design was a bit outdated. I feel like it should be a much smoother experience now.
Also, I slightly changed the dialogue of Pumpzilla to make room for the next update, which will contain a more detailed Pumpzilla lore interaction! (one of the next updates)

Shiny Items!


Reworked the sheen of the item rarity.
Items now have a brand new shining which is much easier to see and more pleasing to the eyes!

Bug Fixes and Other


- Fixed a crash happening when enemies died from fire, toxic fog or similar traps
- Fixed a crash caused by faulty Pumplings code
- Fixed a crash caused by faulty Molotov Peasant code
- Tomes are now not usable in combat, as was intended. By extension, fixed a crash caused by using tomes in combat.
- Fixed Unholy Revival not being usable
- Adjusted some UI and Traps
- All Spike Rush spells (Evil Paprikas, Driders, etc) now deal DARK damage

Update 2022-08-18 (QoL, Bugfixes)

Greetings!

You guys have reported tons of bugs this week! But fret not, I have fixed most of your requests!

Damage Type Icons


Spell descriptions now have icons for damage types!
That should make descriptions a bit easier to read and understand damage types at a glance.
I will add more of these in the future!

UX


- All enemies now display their mana (if they have mana), regardless if you have a Mage on your team
- Adjusted the Silenced effect to end on turn end instead of the next turn start
- Adjusted the position of several traps
- Adjusted some misplaced UI parts
- Adjusted Fox and Mage misplaced in the turn order UI

Other


Added a new Mage spell, Flame Dagger, which scales with DAMAGE.

Bugfixes


- Fixed an error caused by Mermaids' Charm spell
- Fixed some things missing icons
- Fixed some tiles remaining red at the Blessed Children boss fight
- Fixed pirates overlapping at the Captain Stashton boss fight
- Fixed dialogue options going out of the screen at the Natas event
- Fixed Bloodbaths not disappearing when stepping on them
- Fixed Helm of Evolution accidentally upgrading ALL items of that type in the game
- Fixed some typos or strange spellings

Update 2022-08-10 (UI, UX, Bugfixes)

Hello, adventurers!

Here are the patch notes for the latest update.

UI


- Improved the UI by giving the X button a cute little box of its own :)
- Added a checkbox for toggling auto-equipping spells.
- All player units should now appear grouped together in the combat order UI.

Bugfixes


- Fixed an issue with the Golden Shrine not recalculating upgraded item stats for the character
- Fixed special spells binding at the Lecture Table. This should fix some crashes. You can now make Fiery Presence permanent, but not Soul Drain. Also, you can't make Tuberculosis permanent. You sicko...
- Fixed a bug allowing any character to equip any spell
- Fixed a bug with rewards after combat giving duplicate items
- Fixed a bug causing some special spells to appear as loot rewards (e.g. Summon Candle, Tuberculosis)
- Fixed elemental resistances causing characters to have 100% or more elemental weaknesses (no wonder people were getting 1-shot)

Other


- Moved the knight a little lower so you can properly see his chat bubble in the rescue mission.
- Added an extra check for flipping sprites. Hopefully, we won't see any more images being locked in the middle of the flipping animation

Update 2022-08-07 Hotfix

Hi!

This is a crash that used to happen when you had auto-end turn enabled and used all your resources to kill the last enemy. This would cause the game to crash (essentially because the game tried to end the turn twice #programming).

Hope it's the last we've seen!

PS: Let me know if the game is a bit laggier now, I added extra logs. If it's too laggy, I'll fix it in the next update!

Update 2022-08-03 (Friendly Fire Warning, QoL, Bugfixes)

Hello, fellow party killers!

Today, I bring some interesting new updates and, as always, lots of bug fixes!

Friendly Fire Warning


You asked for it, you received it!
You will now have an indicator displayed when targeting a spell if there is an allied unit in the way.
Hopefully we will see fewer fox deaths after this update.

Quality of Life Updates


- Improved various UI elements
- Renamed "Quit Run" to "Give Up"
- Reworked healing after death: your character is now healed to 20% of max HP; previously, it split the remaining HP of the other character evenly among both characters. The new mechanic is more intuitive.
- Polished some aspects of the game a little bit.

Balance


- Ranger's Shoot Arrow now deals 50% less damage at point-blank (at range 1).

Bugfixes


- Fixed some crashes in the inventory
- Fixed resistances/amplifications not being saved on the characters
- Fixed some special items appearing as regular loot
- Fixed combat sometimes not ending when enemies died
- Fixed Highwaymen still being FEARFUL
- Added some extra logging and code guards so the the game crashes less. If the game doesn't behave properly, there are now extra logs to properly identify the issue.

Update 2022-07-29 (New Items, New Spells and Bugfixes)

Hi!

Here are the patch notes for this update.

New Spells


These aren't actually new, but apparently there was a bug in the game causing these spells to never appear. So, enjoy!

Longdraw (Ranger)


Increases the range of your Shoot Arrow by 1.

Steady Shooting (Ranger)


Every 2nd Shoot Arrow on the same target deals 35% extra damage.

Shocking Startup (Mage)


On combat start, damage a random enemy for (16 + 50% SP) SHOCK damage.

New Items


There are lots of new and interesting items! Feel free to explore the game and catch them all :)

Bugfixes


- Fixed a bug causing Helm of Evolution to target items with no stats
- Fixed a crash from large units AI
- Fixed game not saving after the final boss of the last zone
- Fixed a Natas buff exploit

Other Updates


- The tutorial achievement should now be completed automatically if you start the game and it's done
- Improved the description of Helm of Evolution
